I’m thinking of getting Stalker 2 and doing mostly offline play with mods and such. What is gameplay like in such a mode and would it be worth getting for that?

Check this guy’s videos out, he plays the game modded and looks pretty sick

He lists the mods he’s using in the video descroptions.

I’m debating between this and Stalker: Anomaly with the Zona mod. Anyone have experience with Zona?

@Rimland @EvilGeniusRo I’m planning on getting Stalker 2 for my PS5 when it comes out in a couple of weeks, just wanted to ask if there’s anything I should know going in?

For starters, you can ignore the main questline and just explore the Zone and do sidequests at your leisure. There are a few blockers such as you can’t leave the first area of the map until you do a few main missions and Pripyat along with another area are locked until you go further into the story but everything else can be explored. This way you can get better gear and artifacts.

Depending on who you side with in the story, several quests won’t be available so you won’t be able to see and learn what’s going on in the story in one playthrough.

If you don’t like too much backtracking, make sure you don’t pick every piece of generic loot that you find in the Zone or on dead bodies. Also you can’t sell weapons to friendly NPCs, just to traders in the main camps throughout the Zone. Ignore fully broken weapons, marked with red, only one trader buys them and he’s in the center of the Zone so it’s not worth the legwork. Random NPCs will only buy basic stuff like ammo, food and health items.

Money is easy to come by, so it’s best you invest some of it on upgrading your weapons and armor, maybe on some attachments for your weapons like scopes and silencers, not to mention NVG.

If you like exploring, you can find a lot of good gear in stashes, such as weapons, ammo type that is more expensive and rare, armor, weapon attachments etc. and upgrade modules for weapons and armors. While some stashes can be found scattered in the world from the get-go, some are only available once you find the stash info from looting bodies.

You should try and go artifact hunting, you never know what you’ll get. Artifacts can be a lifesaver if you find some with resist radiation and improve carry weight. Bad one can always be sold for a quick buck. Also artifacts can be equipped in such a way that one of them can negate the negative effects of another.

That’s pretty much it, there’s a new patch in testing atm that will focus on balancing so brobably a few more things will change once the PS5 version gets released

Also I recommend playing the game with the Ukrainian VO. There’s some really good voice acting for some of the main characters but a lot of it for the generic NPCs is pretty bad / doesn’t fit.

Anyone use mods or have favorite mods for Stalker 2?

Been playing Stalker 2 the past couple of days, and I’ve loved it so far. Maybe I’ll put as much time into it as I have the WOA.

My copy should arrive tomorrow. Not sure how much time I’ll get to put into it, pretty busy at work the next few days, but I am really looking forward to starting it. I will make sure to update you with my progress.

Started Stalker 2 today. Just did the tutorial, and a bit after. Got my first side mission, to rescue a guy in a house occupied by 5 bandits. Pfft, just 5? I’ve played plenty of Far Cry, I’ll clear them out in no time.

Anyway, they’ve killed me 8 times so far. This is going to be fun. Think the plan is to reach the town, then venture off and start exploring. Will keep you updated.

Ah yes

But yeah, STALKER games is all about coming up with a plan before rushing through; using the environment to your advantage, time of day (NVG are a godsend in dark areas or night time), trying to eliminate enemies one by one through stealth or at least distract them to pass by. (sadly in this case, you can’t linger too long since the bandits will execute the hostage after they finish their discussion)

If you’re playing on Normal difficulty, don’t worry about using health items and such with the idea of saving them for ā€œwhen you really need themā€ since those can be found all over the place.

Damn, wish I bought it while it was on Nexus now. They’ve totally removed it from their store, so now I’ll have to use real money to buy it :frowning:
