The Safehouse Thread

The nod is great, but now that I’m seeing it, I hope that this is just a placeholder and they’ll replace it with an actual canary in a future update :joy:

The fact that its just a Pidgeon painted yellow makes it way funnier than if they made an actual canary model. I just imagine 47 slowly dunking a completely stoic Pidgeon into a yellow paint can or slowly painting it with a small paintbrush

So does 47 not own a TV?

Anyway, the indoor tree thingy is cool, but how does it work? Do you build the house around the tree, or wait 20 years for it to grow, or what? Extra weird design points for having a firewood shelf that’s like four meters high.

Hopefully its a later unlock.

That one got my attention the most. I’m used to the absence of lifts in WoA, but I would’ve expected some kind of ladder here lol.

Might be artificial or pregrown? Then they just slap it in as part of the house’s design I guess. No idea really…

Perhaps it shows up as an unlock for higher mastery? (If it doesn’t, they should really add it)

I dunno, maybe he doesn’t do TVs, too 20th century. It really ruins your hygge or something.

I sure hope it’s not a fake tree, 47 is too cool for plastic plants, except… some of the plants you can place are in really low sunlight spots. :face_with_monocle:

Was hoping a TV with the ability to switch channels between every program ever shown in-world in the Hitman franchise. Maybe throw in a video game console as well with games scene in WoA and Absolution.

Oh my goodness, yes! I’ve always wanted to listen to all the TV channels in all the missions and have them in the safehouse and see how the narrative of the story changes in each news report.

Mastery level 87, memorabilia art.
I will be honest : since mastery level 70 I have been genuinely disappointed by the unlocks.

  • the infirmary is just a change of lighting, to red, with no new game mechanics/pickups as the last ones did (unless it comes with having to be wounded, will have to check that).
  • the DJ booth in the practice space doesn’t allow you to make the drop, just passively listen to the basic loop
  • the painting in the bedroom stays the same, never completing
  • and finally the memorabilia art are, well honestly what I thought it would be at a basic level, but I was really hoping for some Grey, Diana, or other reference art. (give us a regal portrait of Grey for the bedroom IOI)

The piano, the (deluxe) shed, and some of the furnitures were nice, but looking at how much the first 60 or so level brought to the Safehouse, to the gameplay, I feel let down. Especially gameplay wise : nothing new since Mastery 64 and the Explosive crafting (granted it’s a great one)

I still hold some hope for the Mastery 97 unlocks : hope for the “I need to use the bathroom” from Hokkaido in the bathroom, and a new pickup in the last infirmary unlock (please be the coin).

But it’s the only ones I am looking forward to now. Which just doesn’t feel right as a player.

In the meantime, if anyone wishes to know : the memorabilia are essentially location poster. They are a bit reminiscent of the Displates we can buy IRL. (@scat1620 you might like them)

Props for reaching level 87! I’m on 73 myself and I hope to gain a couple levels every time I play so I will eventually be joining you in having those unlocks!

Nope, I don’t see why he would want to indulge himself with that anyway. Although it is strange it’s missing. I guess a laptop in the office will have to do, probably has a Netflix subscription, better not be password sharing with Diana though…

Having gone to a few houses/buildings who have built around trees and asking the same question has yielded one of three answers:

  1. It’s an artifical tree.
  2. They had a tree moved there specifically.
  3. It was planted when it was built (you don’t see this in homes).
  4. We built around it.

Guess which one is the most common, it won’t surprise you.

Upgraded to Deluxe just to have my Luchadorables here. :star_struck:

Pretty wicked that this is the only way that people that didn’t preorder but at least own the Deluxe version are going to get their hands on the ICA19 Black Trinity, AKA, The Blackballer. LOL

If he could I think it’d be best placed in the basement shooting range. :smiling_imp:

I’d say usually you build around it. The roots on a tree so large would make it hard to move. Not saying it couldn’t be done though, just hard to do.

In Hawaii banyan trees are protected and there is a pretty prominent mall in Honolulu built around one. Years ago it was a dusty flea market but the spot is right in Waikiki. A developer bought it and attempted the tear down the tree but eventually lost the court battle and had to build the fancy mall around the tree, now it’s a very beautiful place and a rare story of the right thing winning over profits margins.

In that last one you can see just how big the tree is.
