Can you race past Vidal and set it up to go as she walks past on her way to her loop? I can’t remember exactly where in the parking lot the camera is but I think she walks past it.
If you shoot a guard to set him in combat state and break the angle of attack (the trick to bypass frisk zone etc, you should know it), they will not react even if you put a gun directly in their face
His intel describes him as a scout used for reconnaissance so perhaps he is one of the sources Diana used to get all her intel she gives you in missions?
This makes me laugh because before the release of H3, IOI said in one of those Developer in-sight videos that the AI can’t get any better than it is in H3… Of course I understand there can be bugs etc. but still makes me wonder. And laugh…
I was playing around with the new contracts mode for The Author and I feel like I’ve been enlightened; I’ve learned so much. First, it is very empty and devoid of life. Like, there’s people where there needs to be people but that’s kind of it. Well, except this guy:
And the lawyer:
And the hippie:
There’s another bottle of Insecticide in a random flower shop:
You can’t shoot through the posters:
Craig Black’s publicist/agent has cell phone conversations with someone concerning Black and his mental state and potential cult activity in the confessional in between readings:
And the priest isn’t in the level.
It’s amazing how much that the time crunch of the meeting covers and hides.
I believe the insecticide is for an opportunity.
Yes but I’ve always used the one by Mario and Luigi a few feet away down the sewers a bit. I had no idea there even was a flower shop let alone that it had something in it
Was all that in the normal mission as well? I’ve never really gone exploring in the Author, since i never really needed to… just wondering if that was added because of contracts mode, or it was always there?
I’ve gone exploring the author, looking first for a wrench, then when I found that, any poison available on the map, and then when I found that, I searched again for a key for Brother Akram’s hideout, since I can’t use a crowbar on a stealth playthrough and I wanted to avoid taking up inventory space with lockpicks. Anyway, all the stuff mentioned above, I’ve found during the actual Author scenario. Still haven’t found any key, though.
Is that because of your own preference/rules or because someone will actually investigate if you do so?
I was going to say that I had no idea because you’re kind of racing against the clock and the meeting. You have a little bit of time but generally not enough to really explore. Unless, of course, you complete the objectives and then do it after but that’s not how I usually roll so it’s all news to me.
I think the craziest part is realizing just how few NPCs there seem to be. I don’t even think there’s 100 and it’s really eerie (oddly adding to the ambiance with their absence).
On this map, both. In general, reason A.
There’s a guy peeping through Martinez’ garden wall, as you all know. When you peep back through the other side while he’s looking through the hole, he panics and goes to hide and lie down (pretending to be sleeping?)
After a murder spree for science, I’ve determined that there are around 120* non-targets in The Author. They are mainly concentrated around the church with another large group around the town hall. The rest are scattered around to make it look populated. To be fair, apparently the book reading is pretty late at night so most of the townspeople are either already sleeping or heading home for the night.
My count was more than double my estimate so I guess it more just feels empty. It’s still pretty interesting because that feeling isn’t something you’d normally see or feel over the course of the actual mission due to the time constraints on Brother Akram and almost all the action taking place around the church (where a lot of the people are. It’s pretty skillful in how it diverts your attention and focuses it.
My initial estimates were maybe 50 NPCs so I was actually surprised that there were over 100. I’ve actually gained more of an appreciation for the level because a lot of them aren’t strictly speaking necessary; that group around the town hall for one and especially the few I found just sleeping in random apartments. Not to mention this guy (who isn’t Rocco) in Rocco’s apartment (still labeled as such on the map) with a third security tape console (that I can’t remember if I knew about already or not):
*(My count was 124 but I could have missed a few or been off slightly with my math)
How appropriate, you Hitman like a cow.
You’re close. According to this post from AnthonyFuller, The Author has 130 NPCs.
Given the post is from AF, I have no reason to believe that the information is anything other than 100% correct.
Like I said, I may have missed a few (likely some more randos asleep in their apartments somewhere)
