Targets found tranquilized lose SA, although this is inconsistent. I haven’t played these yet, but if Jeff is a target, or an objective, that could be why.
I’m pretty sure that only happens when you put a sedative in the fumigator/AC vents and the target is inside the room (prime example being Cassidy in Whittleton Creek). Hitting targets with Kalmer has never ruined SA in my experience. There are so many contracts that use this mechanic.
I’ve had it happen before. Sometimes even having a target slip on a banana peel. I think when IO introduced the reworked sedative mechanic in H2, they said that SA would be lost if sedated or accidental KOed targets were found. But, like I said, it’s been inconsistent in my history; sometimes it happens, sometimes not, most especially in Contracts mode. Maybe it’s not supposed to happen in Contracts mode, but because Jeff affects the game in ways no other NPC does, maybe the usual rule isn’t working with him or something.
Yeah it’s definitely due to him being a unique NPC, but it’s only affecting him in the The Author Contracts Mode.
It works normally on The Source Contracts Mode as you can see in this screenshot. Hit him with the Kalmer, guard found body, still SA.
No SA lost in Hokkaido either. Just seems to be the problem with The Author Contracts Mode.
Poisoning target with bubble gum/sedative hidden in food will make them hold their stomach and grumble after they are awoken by guard. I’ve never noticed this unique animation before, probably because I mostly use tranquilizer.
There is a spreadsheet about SA rules from H2. I did not see this being remade in H3 but as far I am aware it is the same in H3.
Note how it is different between targtes/non targets.
Also for very few NPCs it was observed that KO by Kalmer + body found can void SA. (line 44)
So it’s just those unique NPCs (they die with a single shot anywhere on the body) from Isle of Sgail and now Jeff from The Author. Guess I’ll report it on the bug thread. Otherwise the contracts will be limiting on this particular map.
You better check these NPCs again if that is still an issue before sending in a bug ticket.
I am reporting only for Jeff.
47 in Paris
Honestly a better version of the trailer
Visually, yes, but with the voiceover it just becomes confusing. If this version were released back in 2016 everyone would be concerned. Who’s speaking? Who’s “me?” Is it 47? The words imply not, but then why show him? Did they change his voice again? And if not, then who is that talking?
If they had gone with this one,Grey’s speech would need to be ditched.
Sure. A voiceover from Bateson would be in place. The trailer we know is visually weaker since Grey’s character design changed. Now it just a random guy in Grey’s fit.
It’s still Grey, he just hadn’t had that nose job yet. I submit that Grey’s whole plan was to use 47 to get into GAMA under the radar and set himself up for some high-end plastic surgery. The rest of the trilogy just played out for him to cover his tracks; he had to sell the lie.
Maybe it’s Lucas Grey’s evil twin brother: subject 6,5. And this is actually a trailer for the next Hitman trilogy.
Not really. David Bateson’s return as 47 was already confirmed a few months before the Legacy trailer was released. And the question of who the narrator is would have been considered an intended mystery.
The Legacy trailer is actually called ‘Legacy’ Opening Cinematic so there is nothing wrong with it not being the best trailer. Still, as a “trailer,” I think the ending with 47 works better.
Also, the added “intro” part of the music makes it way better as an individual video.
I was referring to those who don’t follow such things online and so wouldn’t have known anything about David Bateson’s return I’d this was the first bit of media they had seen on the game.
Okay so I had one more idea before reporting this bug and it worked.
Turns out losing SA only happens if you shoot him with the Kalmer while he is sitting on the bench. Just make him move from the bench and then Kalmer him and you won’t lose SA when someone finds his body. Such a specific bug lol. Although it makes sense since his whole mechanic in this level is unique.
Tagging @Kevin_Rudd @Heisenberg too.
The unseen narrator in the Mac version is still clearly not 47, bc he is speaking directly to 47. You were always the best… does your handler, does the ICA, I live in that world…”
So it would just be an unknown person instead of “the guy with slick backed hair and and ugly jacket” like we saw back then.
