Things About Hitman You Just Found Out

It is indeed - I got sent a discord message explaining it. Thanks for actually putting the answer on this thread though

Headshots Only complication will only succeed with a shotgun blast if all individual pellets hit an NPC’s head; if even one pellet hits the NPC elsewhere, the complication fails.

I agree that it’s a nice thing to preserve. Let me see what I can do, when I have the time :+1:

Today I learned that Gary Busey, Gary Cole, and Sean Bean are still credited in the Hitman 3 credits. I assume this was because for legal reasons they had to include the credits exactly as they appeared in 2016 and 2.

From what I’ve seen, if an npc being woken up was pacified in a non-suspicious way, the guard does not have a line to wake them up with. Meanwhile, in suspicious circumstances the guard will tell them to get up, then ask about the perpetrator while the npc waking up speaks their line at the same time. Seemingly there’s no voice lines recorded for a non-suspicious wake-up?
Although, I have just had a suspicious ko not have any line from the guard
Ah - it seems what we deem suspicious and what the npc finding the body finds suspicious are two different things - what it says above applies but it totally depends on what the body finder thinks

Were there any non-suspicious way to knock someone out originally? Fire extinguishers used to kill in 2016, and we didn’t have bananas or grapes, or slippery puddles. Or did we?

What about sedative poison, was that always a non-suspicious KO? I don’t think I’ve ever used it in 2016.

What I mean is, maybe there are no lines for that because it wasn’t supposed to be a thing when all the guard lines were recorded.

Perhaps the piano? I’m not sure if it was suspicious back then, though.

Indeed

Oh I completely forgot about the piano KO!

I believe there were no accident KOs in 2016. Even sedative was red guns on body found, same with piano KO. That stuff was introduced in H2.

However there are definitely additional lines for accident bodies and also different AI behaviour when a body isn’t deemed suspicious. Sometimes though a guard seeing a body will call them dead even if they’re just accident KO’d. Seems like they can misdiagnose, particularly if they’re already suspicious about things.

Over 1500 hours on this game and this is the first time I’m noticing you can climb up here in New York.

(This is right behind the other Freelancer starting location)

You must feel as I did when YEARS later I noticed that you can climb a rock wall to get on top of the roof in You Better Watch Out.

I found that out probably like a decade later through a reddit post lol.

OMG! I’ve played New York a lot. A LOT! My favorite map. Didn’t know this. On a related note: I only just realized you can climb into the kitchen in Sapienza from the roof of your appartement and don’t have to go through the door:

If you ko or kill Tamara’s guard while he’s in the parking lot, and then wait for Diana’s conversation with Tamara as they walk outside the reception, another guard that looks exactly like her bodyguard will take his place :skull:.

But if you disrupt that conversation by panicking or dropping something in front of them, the guard will not replace him.

Is this new guard anywhere on the map at the start? Or does he spawn somewhere?

I think I’m going to do a KO ALL guards for Mendoza next. Maybe stash them all in the freezer, or all in the floor where the wine floods, or the grape crusher. Not sure yet. Then see if any respawn when doing the meeting with Tamara.

Why? I’m wondering how many different respawning NPCs there are. Like the band members.

I think it’s pretty unlikely that it’ll summon new NPCs - I’m pretty sure it would take guards from the group that confronts 47 in the cinema.

I had a good number of them killed. Then Don, Tamara, and Diana were in the basement having their meeting… I rushed over, killed one suited bodyguard, all of the heralds… Don, Tamara, and Diana all ran away… They eventually come back. I then shot Don in the face with a shotgun and walked away… Then the game froze… and crashed.

It was all while offline. Hopefully it saved.

Edit: It did save… Eventually I put Don in the garden shredder. Tamara and Diana kept returning to the table, and didn’t move until I shredded Don.

I don’t know if I missed them or if they spawned in from who-knows-where, but 2 of the guards that walk around the grapes and lilacs area were around the dining area. I killed those as well.

Here’s the weirdest thing! Diana told me in Tamara’s voice (something like) “Get lost buddy, nothing to see here.”

I’ll try to get a screenshot if she does it again.

Edit2: Or maybe it was Tamara? 2nd encounter that happened like that it was Tamara that said something like; “(not interested) you’re barking up the wrong tree.”

All that was to get the meeting with Tamara, but I was never able to talk to Diana. So maybe it does pull living guards from anywhere to become bodyguards for the meeting in the theatre.

So if you didn’t know, if you sabotage the wine pumps in Mendoza, Tamara and Diana will observe and comment on the chaos…but If you kill Tamara AND THEN sabotage the wine pumps and then go to Diana as she’s observing the chaos, an extremely short exchange between 47 and Diana will happen.

Diana: “Such a waste, wouldn’t you say, Mr. Rieper?”
47: “I prefer French wine myself”

I noticed these floor panels on the other side of the kitchen building in Sapienza. Like they’d be storage compartments. As long as I’ve played this I don’t know why they caught my attention this time. What could be under/inside them?

And while playing Freelancer, I had a PO, SA (something). I was holding an illegal item while inside some foilage, but the NPC I distracted into it could see me holding it and I was compromised. I thought that was the whole point of being in the grass/etc. To f_king hide! Now, I’ve had it happen when an NPC was right on me, but this guy wasn’t that close.

Oh well. I’ll always remember that because that was completely unexpected.
