Wouldn’t be an update if a couple of additional suits didn’t get messed up… Should go on the hotfix list right next to the Flamingo one. (and frankly, the devs should do a thorough review of all the suits/disguises, because the amount of glitches and misfit with 47’s H3 model is borderline infuriating)
Weird one I experienced for the first time. I’ve had targets spawn out of bounds before but I’ve never had a suspect in a showdown take off running out of bounds (literally sprinting across water) . I was going to let them run forever but then I realized if they are my target I’m screwed so I had to put them down. Killing them did alert an assassin, but didn’t cause any other suspects to flee. I guess because it was so far away.
i would guess what happens is maybe one of the new suits is a modification of this gown, so it’s probably a bug. same thing happened with the disruptor suit where it messed up the sunglasses of other outfits
im still waiting for them to fix tie-clipping on all of the Signature Suit variants
Yeah, likely the Splitter boxer suit (which is glitchy itself btw, cause 47’s ass is clipping through it)
I’m still waiting for a whole lot more than those…
Targets walking OOB is a classic, but I can’t say I’ve ever seen one so eager to get outta there
Yea totally wild. I wonder what triggered that. I didn’t do a single illegal act up until that point. I also wonder where they were going? Did they have a destination or were they just gonna keep running Infinitely?
Do we know which other suits have had issues? I mainly stick to 47’s signature suit with gloves, so haven’t noticed any others yet?
I mean, if we’re talking those which got messed up with updates, then aside from the flamingo slippers on the IT guy suit, the most prominent one would be the Tropical Suit, which got turned into a golden disco ball at one point (Cassidy’s suit got affected the same way) but has since been fixed.
In general, disguises from H1/2 featuring aprons have been consistently broken when looked at from behind. Most of them are either missing or have a “hole” in them. At one point, they got messed up from the front too (notably the Mumbai metal worker), which got fixed, but the backside has been broken consistently. I’m not sure if they were always broken or oscilating between broken and not, but as of now, they have been broken for quite a long time. Edit: Having checked the bug report thread, I reported aprons being broken as early as October 2021, so… (as an example of how it looks like, last time I posted there on this was this July: HITMAN 3 - Bug Report Thread - #4496 by Rimland)
Similarly, H1/2 disguises with certain types of glasses are also messed up, as they (the glasses) have not been adjusted to 47’s H3 head. Examples include the Sapienza delivery guy, the Colorado milita, the Vampire Magician, and most prominently the Kronstadt engineer from Miami.
Speaking of Sapienza, the tank-top bodyguard disguise has had a buckload of clipping issues on both 47 and the NPCs since H3 released, notably on the back.
In Ambrose Island, since its release, the engineer disguise gives 47 a completely different (wrong) body type (poor man looses pretty much all his muscle mass), and the militia disguise cap has 47’s ear clip through.
The DGS suit has had a notable clipping issue on the belt/pants when crouching, the Snow Festival suit has a notable neck clipping issue, the Tactical Turtleneck also has a minor one when crouching, and the Sapienza suit when sitting down/standing up from a bench (the last two are fairly “minor”, but that doesn’t change the fact that they were not there in H1/2).
And I’m sure there are others I’m forgetting or missing. And that’s not even mentioning certain NPCs, like that fellow in Whittleton Creek who still insists on showing off his cranium through his hat… So yeah, the ties aren’t the only thing.
Why does this keep happening? Don’t they test these things before they get implemented? Can’t they tell how updates to the code in one anrea affects others?
“Everyone takes short cuts, even the military.”
IO simply aren’t taking all the time and effort that would be required to make sure these things didn’t happen. I’m not sure we can blame them. It’s a company. They have budgetary restraints. Also the people doing the work are human, they will make mistakes even if trying not to, and their GAF only stays turned on for so long.
But this kind of mistake happens every time they update the game. We’re going on nine years now; that’s enough time for one Endgame time jump and a presidential term. This is beyond ridiculous now. IOI, don’t provide updates that are just going to break more things just because it’s time for the regularly scheduled update. Make sure the patches are going to fix what they’re meant to and won’t break something else, otherwise it’s just becoming a big circle jerk.
I suspect the issue stems from them likely putting people from one of their new studios on as the Hitman team and/or people that haven’t really worked with it for as long as other people at the company, and they don’t seem to realise how interconnected a lot of the stuff is and while they think they’re fixing something - it leads to a break somewhere else.
Though, you would think after breaking stuff all year, they would’ve realised by now…
Realizing that things are very interconnected does (by far) not mean you learned all these interconnections and you can watch out for each of them.
Ideally you write automated tests against these things but that surely is unrealistic and you do these more for game logic and UI functionality than how assets look like.
They probably don’t have enough people working on Hitman right now to do extensive testing for everything. And even with well-commented code it’s sometimes hard to tell how things interact because it’s not a single person writing all the code, but many people having to work with each other’s code.
I’ll buy that second part, but the first; this has been continuous throughout the WoA’s entire existence, when they had no dedication to any other project and everyone was working on this. Yeah, it’s gotten worse since the number of people on it have gone down, but it’s always been there, so how have they never figured out how to avoid it in all that time?
1st time seeing this ranking. Splitter Arcade Lvl 1. I shot the clones standing behind the glass with my SMG.
“The Vulture” outfit in Dubai has been broken since release.
I’ve never seen it in good condition.
Are we talking buggy suits here or things you just found out?
I mean, we kind of can… HMBM47 made a mod fixing the clipping/mesh issues a mere few months after H3 released (he last updated it last summer but sadly hasn’t played or modded WoA since apparently). I’m pretty certain that if one would cross-check the things listed as fixed in it with the current state of the game, they would find out that the absolute majority of it has not been officially fixed yet. If a modder can fix this in their spare time, it shouldn’t take the company that developed the game 4+ years, regardless of their resources. I find it baffling that so much stuff got broke in the transition from H2 and H3 (significantly worse than from H2016 to H2), and budgetary restraints or not, they should be noticing and fixing it. It just unnecessarily undermines the quality of an otherwise fantastic game
I started a campaign playthrough today, partly to check for things (non-bug issues) I want to add to a list for Samir to forward to the team, and encountered this abomination just in the training mission:
Yeah, I imagine this could explain the things that get broken with updates… But not the stuff that got messed up with H3’s release. Surely there must have been other causes, and they oughta have skilled-enough staff addressing it
Both atm. Just found out how much shit still hasn’t been fixed over the time I haven’t played the game
But yeah, more on the actual thread topic, I actually just found out that in the yacht training, one of the staff “recognizes” 47 as the initiate. Never actually noticed this, since I always walked through the area, and it takes a bit for him to start that convo.
This convo should promote him to an enforcer. Very immersion breaking that the disguise was not compromised in this instance!
