A question for the thread, rather than a nugget of info:
Does anyone know if the action of auto-hiding a drawn pistol behind 47’s back as he approaches an NPC in the WoA is just a visual flourish, or does it have any mechanical effect (such as reducing the rate of the NPC suspicion meter filling up)? If it doesn’t have a mechanical effect, I’d like to see that patched in (or, worst case, implemented in a future game).
I believe the NPC you’re walking up to can no longer see the pistol and isn’t suspicious, but it’s been a long time since I have seen it work in a room where there is only one NPC. Probably pretty easy to test out in Paris though which has a few rooms with one staff person each.
I can confirm this mechanic worked in Blood Money, though obviously the coding for this game is entirely different (like blood stains and targets fighting back)
Kind of annoying too, because if I’m remembering correctly (crucial detail), when he holds a gun behind his back in Blood Money, NPCs don’t see it unless they’re within a certain range. Wish it could be done here. Another example of previous game mechanics that should be in WoA but aren’t (if I’m remembering correctly).
This is something I probably never would have learned if not for Cross-Progression still counting all the Featured Contracts I did on PS5 as completed on Steam, but Steam has an extra Featured Contract!
The A Day at The Races contract is located near the end of the FCs menu between The Green Butcher and Icarus on Steam…
From its description, it seems like it was a special contract made for a speedrun competition to win a custom Hitman 2 Gaming PC from March 14 to March 24 2019 (just a bit late for me to enter). So that’s probably why it only shows up on PC. Anyway, with it done now I’ve truly completed all the FCs!
In almost ten years of playing Paris (!!!), I’ve never once thought to myself why there are windows on this wall directly behind the stage area until now. Its just a weird room with no doors/access that wouldn’t exist if the palace was a real building.
If I understand your position in the map correctly, you might want to look up: The stage is not inside the building! It’s in the inner couryard. That’s why there are all walls, windows and balconies towards the stage.
One of those “why did they make this” pieces of a map. Just like that boat in Batty’s back yard in Whittleton Creek, despite no apparent means of getting it there or removing it without taking down an entire part of his fence.
That’s more common than you’d think. I currently know at least two people with vehicles of some sort parked in places that would require removal of fences or walls to get off their property.
Yes the second Intel competition, it was actually two contests, one for speed and one for creativity. The drone I won at the latter did not see much use yet sadly.
Do you have a vid of what you did for the Mumbai contract? I’d be interested in seeing it, I remember some crazy vids from you like a Sieker shot through the mansion windows in Dartmoor or the explosive parrot kill on the Revolutionary
If a NPC slips on a banana, if you time it right launching the freecam in the SDK - they go sliding forever (or until you exit freecam). And this is with pause on the freecam enabled too.
