I think that is the messy opportunity for why you would put an explosive into the camera.

Presumably, in your screenshot, we see journalist Lindsey La Coeur who is initially doing news coverage by the fountain at the front of the Palace when you first arrive in Paris?
As opposed to journalist Lana Caprice who is found inside the museum shop trying to deal with her cracked camera lens situation.
You’d be forgiven for assuming these two journalists were the same person. They look so similar. I always wondered if, originally, they were meant to be one NPC. Then perhaps they were split into two NPCs so that players arriving for the first time get to see the news crew (with interuption lols), whilst still having Lana static in place for the Mission Story to be available from the start.

I’m only learning now that these are two different people! I think you’re right about them being the same NPC but needed to be split up for opportunities

I believe this is part the after show/after speech state of Paris.
Bunch of NPCs have new positions if you have the show end peacefully.
One of the stylist goes into a bathroom to sleep on the floor as an exemple.
Models go outdoors, some have a smoke…
Paris is interesting for that, since it’s a prototype. IOI didn’t implement other “full overhaul of the map dynamic under the right condition” as much as here.
Same with the unique evacuation and patrol lockdown after light-rig crash.

Wish they’d add a “fast forward” starting location in Paris like the ones in Dartmoor so you could start in the post-show phase to have the different NPC placements from the jump.

It’s in Miami that I would love to have seen that mechanic retroactively applied.
A starting location just as the race ends with Moses Lee’s victory.
I know the Race Marshal start is the de facto end the race quickly start.
A dedicated start would be quicker, and the few minutes for the NPC to go to their new routes would be occupied by going to position and other disguise taking.
Not just waiting for the flag prompt and then even more inactive waiting for events to play out as you are already embedded.
The post race routes are really fun, but I almost never play them because of how tedious they are to realize.

There is a way to make this happen on certain other maps! If 5 crowd NPCs die, a similar infinite lockdown will occur on most maps afaik.
Also if the podium explodes in Miami

There is a giant speaker attached to the balcong above the entrance he uses to get to the patio. You can drop it on him if you let the fashion show finish with him still alive.

Gonna tag @IOI_Artjoms so the ideas can hopefully get passed on.
So you don’t have to scroll up, the idea is adding “fast forward” starting locations to Paris and Miami (like the ones in Dartmoor that start later into the NPC routes than the other starting location) so that players can jump straight in to the post-fashion show and post-race setup of the locations. NPCs move around when these phases are entered, so would open up new possibilities for Contracts Mode.

While we are at it, in H2016 I think you could trigger the building evacuation without non-target kills. I think it was by causing loud explosives? Would be really cool if the evacuation state was also somehow accessible to contract mode. Though I am not sure how to do that, a starting location where 47 triggers the fire alarm? I think making it trigger via regular fire alarm interaction is a bit too much and might break other things.

One consqeuence of cross-platform progression is that created contracts on additional platforms will end with the same two digits as the main platform (previous contracts are not visible under “My Contracts” but do still exist if searched for by ID).
I would imagine it’s difficult to script woken up prisoner behavior. They should return to their imprisoned state or not? Depending on who finds them? Big can of worms from a programmer’s POV.

I snatched the virus thingy from brother Akram before the handover meeting. When the church bell sounds to initiate the meeting with Craig Black, Akram will lean over his balcony in agony.
I was hoping for something more lethal. When you do the meeting dressed as Akram and don’t bring the virus, you’ll be gunned down by Black’s entourage. Would’ve been better if that happened to him as well. Or if he tossed himself over the rail.
