Things About Hitman You Just Found Out

Good question. If IOI ever had plans to add briefcase selection to the mode, they might have given them rarities “in advance”, but I suspect it was the modder, @WINNODD?

Small correction regarding the briefcase(s): it only works when throwing it, not in melee. Which is probably why I didn’t notice it before.

We really need this for Freelncer without Mods! :folded_hands:t2:

Let’s keep the excitement low and look forward 1.5 wielding and human shield on a volunteer basis.

Cross-post to the interview and my notes here in the First Light thread:

I think it is fair to assume, that with First Light “finished” even if there will be a sequel, they don’t have to build that from scratch and ressources will be free for other projects like a new Hitman. But game development in this scale seems to take forever, so I won’t hold my breath for the next Hitman in the next 2 or 3 years.

In Hawkes Bay, getting caught on camera doing an illegal action does not cause any guard to compromise 47 like on other maps, where guards in the camera room are typically alerted, or at least turn orange.

Maybe that’s just because there aren’t usually any guards in the camera room so no one is actively monitoring them. I most other maps there is at least one guard in the vicinity of the recorder, if not actively monitoring.

Now I’m curious: If you would lure a guard to the recorder and then let you record by a camera, would that make a difference?

Yeah, it certainly isn’t bizarre that it doesn’t happen, but my instinctual thought was that it might telepathically alert the head of security so that the trespassing-on-camera doesn’t go unpunished.

On another note, enforcer dots cannot be seen through transparent surfaces in the top floor of Miami’s Kronstadt building. Testing this in Hokkaido’s morgue, I was able to see dots through one of the doors, not entirely sure which case is normal.

@LostinWeb I’m on the case  It makes no difference - I’m assuming the camera watching status is assigned to the guards rather than if they’re inside a camera box zone

As a Brit brought up with stereotypes about how Germans are all utterly humourless, you and @MrOchoa both do sterling work in undoing the harmful cultural teachings of my upbringing…

That’s a stereotype here? Huh never heard of it before

It actually is a stereotype even in Germany. But secretly we are the funniest Motherfuckers on the planet. We just don’t want anyone to think that we are funny. We are the Joe Pesci of nations.

There is another saying: “Die Deutschen nehmen ihren Humor sehr ernst.” Meaning: “The germans take their humour very seriously.”

There were other big british comedies that really made an impact in Germany. Monty Python of course, because who doesn’t love them. Mr. Bean was big over here in the Nineties. Some short films with him were even shown in cinemas before the main movie.

Nowadays it is not that big, but everybody liked the Edgar Wright movies, and the show Taskmaster has a relatively great following here. It goes on, I guess.

Oh, and during the Seventies, the germans helped making Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill global stars, by dubbing their movies with a unique style of comedy synchronization, that did add a lot of gags, that weren’t in the original movies. That led to the following movies with them becoming more funny and silly during production already, because they had their first big success in Germany thanks to the more funny stuff in it and the producers in italy realised, that people want that from their movies.

Thanks for reading “A short history of german humour”. I’ m gone, laughing in the basement …

Hold you right there.

@Codename-24 If you want to know what a stereotypical, non-funny German looks like, check out the YT channel of liamcarps.

Now, back to topic!

It will also be for the next-gen consoles as well that’s for sure.

47’s graphics will be unreal! I remember when we saw that graphic jump from Blood Money to Absolution and everyone thought WOW. This is going to be even better

Maybe this is old news that people have known about for years, but I - for no reason that I can think of - did a Google search for what Mattias Engstrom (track lead of Marrakesh from H1, Mumbai from H2, and Game Director for H3) was up to these days, after he left IOI following the release of H3.

Turns out, he rejoined IOI back in 2024 (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattias-engström-5916753/) so the man who mo-capped Dawood Rangan’s sweet dance moves is back on board, and now working on First Light.

Now can we get Mette back too, please?

And can we have Morten Iverson back as main writer? I’d love the next Hitman game to have a story that isnt fucking dogshit
