Things About Hitman You Just Found Out

The Surveillance System in Mendoza can’t be disabled by an explosive device

I only just found out that in the Patient Zero mission, if both the main targets are killed and there are no other infections except for 47 - there is a special Diana dialogue for the scenario that plays telling you that “you cannot leave before you’ve taken care of the infection you are carrying”. Never heard this one before.

They didn’t fully plan for this scenario though, since once you do take the vaccine - Diana then starts talking again but opens with “target eliminated”. :joy:

I always wished the Wild Card ET would of let us vote in game as to which target to take out, the “client” feed up with both Gary’s antics could of hired the ICA to take out one Gary to send a message to the other Gary, it then could of been up to us which one had to go, or IOI could of randomized the target per each release of the ET, the ET only ran once as we all know but it could added a little variety if the mission was ever activated again.

I believe they had the level built before they knew who would win the vote. They just have their routines and they say things out loud (Busey) is funnier, and once the vote came in they just made Busey a target. So you can experience the other version by simply following Cole around and pacifying and hiding him to keep SA, or just taking him out however you want if you don’t care about that stuff.

That seems to be the case, I ran quite a few tests over the last couple days with the small amount of free time I could muster, starting in the Sapienza ruins to save time, I eliminated Gary Cole, Silently, loud and everything in between, each and every time Diana says the line “ Contract complete, target down” , though it doesn’t actually end the mission nor provide any exit plus I still get.the non target penalties and lose silent assassin, to clarify this is me using the Peacock server, however it definitely has me believe IOI had something else already planned if Cole was chosen to be the target, I was lucky enough to play the ET when it was originally released, I just hit him with the sniper rifle and went about my business, just makes me wish this one would rerun with the choice of which Gary to eliminate.

Very nice. Now let’s see Blood Money’s rifle case.

This is not in the vanilla game, but speaking of the Rifle Case: I just found out that in Freelancer (thanks to the Briefcase Carousel mod) it can be used for the “Rare Melee Takedown” objective when thrown (but not in melee):

Turns out the briefcases have different rarities:

Found the full version of this image. Never seen it before. It looks weird since we’re so used to seeing it cropped

Ok now I like that mod, I wouldn’t mind them bringing that to the main game even if I had to buy them from the suppliers first like the other items. I wonder though is the rarity rating already there in game or if it the mod creator added that detail.

Good question. If IOI ever had plans to add briefcase selection to the mode, they might have given them rarities “in advance”, but I suspect it was the modder, @WINNODD?

Small correction regarding the briefcase(s): it only works when throwing it, not in melee. Which is probably why I didn’t notice it before.

We really need this for Freelncer without Mods! :folded_hands:t2:

Let’s keep the excitement low and look forward 1.5 wielding and human shield on a volunteer basis.

Cross-post to the interview and my notes here in the First Light thread:

I think it is fair to assume, that with First Light “finished” even if there will be a sequel, they don’t have to build that from scratch and ressources will be free for other projects like a new Hitman. But game development in this scale seems to take forever, so I won’t hold my breath for the next Hitman in the next 2 or 3 years.

In Hawkes Bay, getting caught on camera doing an illegal action does not cause any guard to compromise 47 like on other maps, where guards in the camera room are typically alerted, or at least turn orange.

Maybe that’s just because there aren’t usually any guards in the camera room so no one is actively monitoring them. I most other maps there is at least one guard in the vicinity of the recorder, if not actively monitoring.

Now I’m curious: If you would lure a guard to the recorder and then let you record by a camera, would that make a difference?
