For some reason in The Warlord ET, there is a key for the safe with the USB stick out of bounds on the beach.

Camera grid turns red when it’s spotting an illegal action (versus just recording you), I believe.

Well I’m not trespassing or doing anything, it’s just like that

Not in the vanilla game, but in the Safehouse Visitors mod: Knight and Stone panic when you use a loud gun in the shooting range with the door open, and Stone will T-pose:

On Haven Island (and the Herbalist):
The NPC skipping stones outside the villa “throws” his name label when viewed through the SDK for a reason I don’t understand.

Snoop Dogg smokes the right model of a joint, but at the very least doesn’t hold it right after the final tour guest leaves him in the testing room.

In an effort to catch the special assignment out RE: save/loads, saving and loading the game while choosing a cookie will not only allow you to eat a different cookie but also stick the first cookie to 47’s hand.

Packaging on Morsizzles suggests 2x10 cookies, but presumably 20 cookies of that size would not fit in the bag.

Don’t know if anyone has brought this up before, as I don’t particularly pay attention to stuff hidden in the game files or discussions around them. I prefer stuff that’s already out so I can access it. Still, this was kind of interesting.

I wish they reconsidered adding this at some point

There was a thread about it, but back in 2020:

As the video mentioned at the end, it’s accessible via mods, either as a standalone mission or in Freelancer Variations.

Which means it’s not accessible.

Why do they put the lab in a random apartment tho, we literally had a whole cave lab as a base

Those who know what’s unique about this image, know.

Vagueness aside, for whatever reason the developers straight up banned this weapon from appearing in Kirov Park Meeting. You can select it in the weapons screen, but you won’t spawn with it. You’d think it has to do with whatever special property the .50 cal might have - which as far as I know doesn’t exist. It cannot penetrate the limos that the targets drive in. Maybe my version of the gun lacks specific properties that the one we have in Motorcade Interception has, but no matter what angles I tried I couldn’t shoot through the limousines and kill the targets.

Except, from one particular spot, with any sniper rifle. And just for one target.

Start the level normally, get the Dragunov nearby and kill the soldier for a disguise. Then quickly make your way to this bridge here:

As soon as the target’s car starts moving, shoot through the windshield. From this bridge, and only this bridge, the sniper shot penetrates the limo. From at least three different sniper rifles. I tried the MI95, the Dragunov, and the Custom Rifle, all worked. Other locations I tried to shoot from did not work.

If someone else has a complete vanilla game (I’m not sure if I messed with some files and inadvertently messed up some code in the game), can you try out this strat and tell me if it works? The limo does not have to be on that side of the bridge, you can shoot it once it approaches the park so long as you stand on the bridge when you do it.

I never even thought to bring that rifle to that level :joy:. It makes sense the devs didn’t allow it though. It is an anti vehicle rifle and should penetrate the limos.

I completely agree, especially for the larger maps, Miami and Mumbai for example, some like Dubai I can kind of understand as it’s one building, Whittleton Creek might be a stretch, I can see Nolan being in charge of surveilling the area as if I remember correctly as it’s been awhile but Janus actually has a meeting with him if you take out all the cameras, but it also would of been nice to have to take out both boxes.

I’ve also noticed a weird explosion bug in Whittleton Creek, inside the 420 garbage if I set off an explosion up the small steps inside, sometimes it will set off the propane tank that’s in the shack near Janus’s nurse, you’ll know it worked without running completely to the other side of the map as you’ll get an door unlocked bonus shortly after

Having played it myself… I’ll just say that it was pretty simple. Illusions of Grandeur would be closest in terms of challenge/difficulty, or just the number of opportunities to kill the target. So, you’re not missing much (it’s pretty boring), and I can see why they left it “out” of the game.

Now, The Brothers (Unreleased Marakech double ET) would be something they should’ve left in the game or finished/refined so everyone could enjoy it.

Not sure about that one.

I get the point of “intended gameplay” and “borderline cheating”, sure. That’s why you cannot destroy every wall and door in Red Faction, because the game would completely break.

But in a case like this, you have to think about that specific feature of this specific weapon and connect the pieces. Even if it would be a “cheap trick”, I as a player would feel seen and respected if the developer tells me: “Clever idea. Not as intended, but clever!”.

Example: RE4 Remake, if you unlocked the rpg, you can use it to blast open a tunnel that would usually require a bomb connected to a longer puzzle.

Why else would it be hard locked out though? The internet says even with an all weapons cheat it is not possible to bring that rifle into the level. To my knowledge this does not happen with any other weapon in any other level.

I agree with you that they should have allowed it to happen, especially since that’s the level with the nearly spoon fed SA rating. Just grab the bombs and use the sewers and you’ll get your silenced ballers as an unlock, but it makes sense to me that a 2002 video game has a restriction like this. I wonder if, like C47, the levels were designed before the order was written into the story or if the level order was later changed and they were afraid you’d already have the 50 cal on the first playthrough :woman_shrugging:

Just learned that the released mission briefing for The Fugitive Elusive Target is a cutdown version of what IOI had originally created for it. The original briefing references to Ji-Hu’s links to North Korea, and that the client was Chinese, South Korean and Japanese intelligence agencies all coming together to issue the contract against a common enemy.

I always thought that the briefing weird - it is weirdly short and didn’t include any background info on the target, nor did it have the standard shot that was included in all the other ETs of the era:

Apparently this is in the PS4 version of H1. According to the video description.

For comparison purposes, here’s the officially released version of the briefing:
