I feel like the level design generally improved with each game. Maybe it helps that Contracts was my favorite Hitman game and I can finally play that game without crap controls!
3 WORST
Bangkok
Colorado
Himmelstein
Sgail instead of Himmelstein if I must pick a real map. Those 4 are the only destinations I completely ignore.
Worst
Thailand - itâs just not a real hotel by any stretch of the imagination. Fun level but could have been way better if the hotel map was based a little more on what we expect to find in a hotel. Ultimately I think this level suffered from a time crunch
Colombia - this one could have been so good too. There is just a⌠je ne sais quoi missing from it. Maybe itâs just too disconnected? Iâm not sure but Itâs still fun. What a great game trilogy when the worst levels are still fun.
Carpathian Mountains - this is the worst map; itâs the same as the level from goldeneye on a train and designed to be played the same way too, but thatâs bc Hitman is a sandbox game and this level was made to be different. I thought about following Kentâs lead and not allowing this level or the training missions but I actually like the training missions (I kinda lump both of them together which helps them compete against other maps), and so I couldnât really think of a third map I donât like.
I personally love Sgail. Itâs gorgeous and the map is incredibly atmospheric. Some great kills opportunities too. Too bad the targets are so damn boring.
It is not my least favourite map by any means, but I can see why itâs not liked a lot.The map structure simply feelsâŚawkward? Its verticality is really weird and many doors are locked for no good reason, which both lead to many areas feeling disconnected from the rest of the map(like the harbour, the dungeon, the penthouse, the warehouse etc.)
Zoe also doesnât have a really great route to be honest.
I still like it for its atmosphere, the mission stories are really cool and I kinda like Sophia as a target, but definitely not one of my favourite maps.
I agree about Zoe. I donât feel like the map is separated beyond anything that feels like it might if you were in a real castle. Obviously the constant tower is intentionally separate but it still has 2 entrances and the penthouse is basically more or less the same but you can climb the walls if you choose. The mission could have used a lot of extra effort. The MC should have eventually started the ceremony, you should have been able to help one of the initiates get enough coins to interview, things like that, but as. Mail itâs pretty slick and I always had hoped we would get a second mission there. One with quite a bit of re work, pretending ark society no longer owns it, or perhaps they still do but usually itâs on skeleton crew.
Judging from the Performance XP on my Player Profile page,
Top 5:
Berlin - 223,410 (I obviously love this map, but 5 targets definitely contribute to the higher score)
Hokkaido - 192,785 (which makes a great point for how much I love this map)
Sapienza - 167,000
Whittleton Creek - 161,395
Chongqing - 151,855
Maybe people were burned out by the time they got to Sgail, since all of us had to start from scratch with H1 missions when H2 came out. Could be a factor.
Yea I guess thatâs possible. I carried over my progress.
Itâs funny bc I think I donât like Paris as much as I should due to burnout. When H1 came out and it was the only map to play, I played a lot of it . Then even when Sapienza released you could go back to paris if you wanted. By marrekech you had 3 etc
I always have a tough time thinking about which maps I like more/less than the others. One day I might say Map X is my favourite, but then the next day I might say map Y is my favourite instead.Itâs just so difficult to choose when there are so many good maps!
This is exactly why I canât mention only 5 best maps(and trust me,Iâve been trying for days, but couldnât decide),so I will mention 8 instead, which I all consider S tier maps.Hopefully,no one minds.
BEST 8 (in no particular order)
1.Sapienza
2.Hokkaido
3.Miami
4.Whittleton Creek
5.Dartmoor
6.Berlin
7.Chongqing (I didnât really use to like it,but it has grown on me a lot and now I love it.I guess I owe @Franz an apology. )
8.Mendoza
I should also probably mention that my rankings are mostly influenced by the main missions (particularly roulette) because I play them way more often than other modes. But I do take into consideration other modes as well.
