It fixes it for me, but after a few hours of play it will happen again, so I’ve given up on reinstalling the game every time I want to play it. You can try it, but don’t expect it to be a permanent fix. And I’ve had some friends try it and have it not work for them, so there’s no guarantee it will actually help, unfortunately. It just sometimes temporarily fixes the issues for some people.

I deleted the user folder and am reinstalling the whole thing (even though I don’t see the logic of why it would work).
Just out of curiosity, I started HITMAN 2 on Steam, and there’s nothing wrong with those servers.

IO should really fix the servers, or at least give us a proper offline mode.
Not nearly as much as people that haven’t been able to carry over progress or get into the game at all.

Online only is STUPID IOI, wtf were you thinking with that dumbass model for a single player game. Soooo stupid. Could have avoided all this crap. Back to Dishonored I go.

Note that an IOI Account (“your identity in IOI as a customer”) is not the same thing as the Console Profile for say your brother or sister also sharing your PS4/Xbox…(“your identity as a member of your household in front of your console”).
Also note that there is a potential THIRD online element - the Game Profile [or Profiles?] (that PROFILE which HITMAN1, 2, and 3 are trying to “FETCH”) that is possibly not the IOI account but is needed to be found/read/written to. (“Your actual identity/progress recorded from the game as its registered player”).
Also… note the possibility that each HITMAN game has different server “Profiles” [Or just one for the whole series? Or multiple Profiles/files that cross reference each other?]. Which means if you’ve been on HITMAN since 2016, you will have probably at least 3 server “Profiles” one for each major title. So… one has to be quite specific about what new account/profile we are talking about for this workaround.
Even after this server update, and downloading the new patch today, I still have the same problem…
Still cant connect since launch day. An absolute disaster of a game launch!
I still cannot connect to Hitman 3 on my PS5, it’s been a week since launch. Here is the message I am presented with:
“CONNECTION FAILED. Unable to connect to the HITMAN service. Failed to fetch online resources from the HITMAN server. For more information, contact HITMAN support.”
It started not connecting for me just a bit ago I reinstalled the game. It says I don’t have access like i don’t own it and i have owned every one since it came out. Oh but i can play hit man2 I have to sign into that game. I look in the XBOX store and it shows i own it I go to manage it say we can find you stuff right now

You’ll see Xbox is currently having problems on their end. Which in turn screws us over because ioi uses the Microsoft store to verify we own the game/add-ons. If their server can’t connect with Microsoft, then the fucking game and add-ons we payed for and own magically become invisible and don’t exist anymore. Really dumb verification system.
Oh I remember this. Not only did I get kicked offline, ALL unlocks I achieved since the affected playthrough were relocked. I wonder how many lost SASO over this…
