Unpopular opinions about Hitman

of course it wouldn’t fit if you just took the soundtracks from old games and put them over the new game(even though i kinda disagree even with that but that’s just me). why do you believe he couldn’t write a fitting original soundtrack though?

While i don’t doubt about his ability to pull that off in a very fitting way, i think his style is more… “ethereal” and complex than what this game demands, which is a good action-thriller suspenseful music

but this is just me rambling

Jesper Kyd forgot more about making good soundtracks than this forum as a whole will ever learn about it.

There’s a reason why he won multiple prizes and stuff. My guess is that he is just too expensive for IO to hire, because of his talent and reputation.
He also said that he was friends with the Founders of IO Interactive, thats why he made the Soundtrack for Hitman in the first place - and as we all know, no one from the old Crew is still working there.

Do you mean in the character? It will be a little difficult for me to say all this in English and I am not sure that this is the right thread for this discussion. But you described one side of him. He really is like a blank sheet, just a guide. But nevertheless, and it always showed how deep he was in his soul. It seems to me that this is what is very attractive. You first look at a person who is nobody, at that moment when he is really just incredible. Maybe these are just the words of a woman in love, who knows :relieved:

He was never asked from IO according to himself, so all that is speculation. :smirk:

I agree Niels is better than Kyd, most of Kyd’s music had this orchistrated epic vibe, but I like having more diverse music. Every map’s ost in hitman 2 (H16 reused music for some map’s) is unique. I like so many of them, and I think when the tracks get epic like Jasper Kyd’s ones like in the bank’s intro music, or patient zero’s music generally I think he can do a just as good job.

that makes sense. :+1:t4:

Totally agreed. I love Jesper Kyd’s Vegas but nothing beats 2016’s menu theme and the H3 trailer music.

I don’t know how unpopular this is, but I think that the Agent 47 is religious, he has a belief in God, though quite peculiar. And some kind of religious motives appear in the game throughout the series.

And one more opinion: I think that Diana as a person is not a very good / negative character :smiling_imp:

I think that’s actually a fact, not an opinion. He IS religious and he confesses his sins to his friend, Father Vittorio.

I mean, he is still religious, even after the disappointment at the end of the SA. And, probably, someone may think that his confession is not quite so sincere, rather it was more thought out than felt, although it may be so, but it is not quite the same as for other people.

thinking about his beliefs, 47 is a perfect stoicist and he may be a deist

I’ve been listening to the WOA level soundtracks while I work lately and all of them are just so good at conveying the tone for each. Haven has this very light, twinkling tone to it that does really make you think of a nice beach while Santa Fortuna has this heavy baseline that makes it feel dangerous. I was a little disappointed that Colorado and Hokkaido sounded so similar but they’re still amazing tracks.

I don’t think that anyone who arranges murders for a living could be described as a good person. But she is a very moral woman. She’s a good example of the idea that the best villains are the ones who don’t see themselves as villains. She’s just willing to get her hands dirty for the right cause. In the No Clip documentary, the writers described her as 47’s conscience.

He’s a Dianist :stuck_out_tongue:

How could I forget about it! - But I just love the cut scenes in the second part. They are so beautifully drawn and their atmosphere, in my opinion this unhurried frame rate interspersed with animation is very suitable for the tone the story that is told there.

hitman 2 sa is the worst game in the franchise slightly behind absolution. the ai is terrible and so are most of the about 20 missions the game has. but even all that aside I don’t enjoy the fundamental mechanics of killing someone because it almost always ends up being a mess of trying to get the guy while spinning around him. the rule of only 2 shots or less for silent assassin is also too restrictive. glad they changed it in contracts.

having recently completed c47, I now think it’s the third best game of the series. the main stealth mechanics are so simple but that’s what makes it all fun. the shooting is also very satisfying with the overblown ragdoll. i wish there were more levels though because the colombian missions take up like a fourth of the entire game. they could have been a nice change of pace but the pace wasn’t really there.

so, my personal ranking of the franchise:

  1. HITMAN 2 ALL-CAPS™/2016
  2. blood money
  3. codename 47
  4. contracts
  5. absoultion/hitman go
  6. silent assassin

It’s certainly a unpopular opinion if I ever seen one.
