Unpopular opinions about Hitman

I think he was either there to buy something from the place - weapons, perhaps - or kill the owner or someone who worked there, probably under contract from a private client, as he was likely unaware at the time that the Agency was back in operation.

@Norseman thinks 47 needs to ditch the blind tailor. Maybe he just passed away though? 47 is now buying off the rack and doing his own alterations???

Unpopular opinion: 47, our genuine tough guy perfect paid killer isn’t Asexual. He is just terrified of women. He tried once to talk to one in a bar / hit on her. It didn’t go well and now he can’t muster the courage to try again*.

*if it’s for a mission he can act the part, but when the interest is real for him he just folds and dumps his pants before running away.

I really wish you could poison food or drink while the target NPC is standing right in front of it, about to consume. You either have to wait for them to move on and do their entire loop over again, or you can find a way to cheese distractions to make them walk away, then back to the freshly poisoned product.

This might be a popular opinion.

Technically you can do that with Novikov.

AFAIK you can just bump them, go through them and poison their stuff while they’re turning around and whining? At least I remember doing that with a few targets.

If you bump into them you risk them dropping the glass and breaking it. :grimacing:

You should be able to use a syringe to poison food or drinks.

This is a topic for unpopular opinions, not feature requests that literally everybody thinks would be a good idea…

Maybe not an unpopular opinion on a Hitman forum, but I wish IO’s next release was a new Hitman game instead of Project 007.

James Bond is my favourite movie franchise and Hitman is my favourite videogame franchise, so you’d think Project 007 would be a dream come true for me, but…not so much. It just seems like it’s sacrificing one beloved thing to keep another one alive. Like if your father had to donate his kidneys to keep your mother alive :stuck_out_tongue:

Project 007 was announced over three-and-a-half years ago and there’s still no sign of it. If IO didn’t get the Bond licence, maybe we would have got Hitman 9 by now? World of Assassination is the absolute perfection of the Hitman formula and the best the franchise has ever been, so maybe I’m just butthurt that it’s over. Maybe it was getting stale and we could use a break, but…no, I’d still prefer consistent Hitman games every few years until doomsday.

Hitman releases seem to go in phases: 2000 to 2006 there’s a cluster of four great games, then a ten-year period without anything worth talking about, and then in 2016 to 2021 another cluster of three great games. So will that mean another ten-year drought?

Of course, I am still looking forward to Project 007 and will buy it, but I just wished we had Hitman 9 instead. IO getting the Bond licence is bad news for us Hitfans.

Apologies for my whiny, entitled rant.

The way I have chosen to look at it:

The WoA trilogy saw IOI in dire straits. H1 performed poorly, so Square Enix decided to sell them. With a lot of financial burden and sacrifice, IOI managed to buy themselves out. H2 nearly didn’t happen, but with Miami being such a success on YouTube videos, the game performed decently! H3 also did alright, but again, not as well as one might hope.

WoA oozes Bond energy, from the ICA training missions, to Paris, to Sapienza, etc. so if anyone can make a thoughtful, engaging James Bond Spy game, it’s IOI.

James Bond is a big name. No doubt, this big name will get lots of eyes. And, if they really take their time with it, IOI could make a fantastic James Bond game during an era of uninspired Fortnite knockoffs.

With that (potential) success, IOI could go back to Hitman, or spread their wings even further and tackle other original ideas! I for sure would love more WoA Social Stealth style games. And I hope they come!

I’m actually the opposite. I’d like for IO to take their time. You can’t rush art you know. The next Hitman game can only be better if the team behind it has the freedom to explore new, awesome possibilities.

Tell that to all these “AI enthusiasts”.

Maybe not too unpopular by now but, I’m tired of Elusive Targets.

Back in 2016 was quite the deal for giving the sense of thrill of having a limited window of engagement but by now it’s pretty burned. That being said, I just want for the already existing ones to be released to be played at our own leisure (not like the Arcade with arbitrary optional rules).

Still interested in the newer celebrity ET, regardless.

I wont say I prefer the still cutscenes from H2 over H16 and H3 cutscenes, but it’s close.

The HITMAN 2 Cutscenes remind me of the old arcade endings from Mortal Kombat, i like that, but i prefer the real time Cutscenes from HITMAN 3.

I don’t like the Hitman 3 cutscenes. The characters seem stiff and compared to other games their quality is not so well IMO. I prefer the cutscenes from H2016 and Hitman 2 (I think the Hitman 2 cutscenes are very emotional, even if they aren’t moving)
