Unpopular opinions about Hitman

To be honest, I think the game has enough suits. I’d rather other outfits to promote roleplaying. I really want them to stick in the butcher outfit, for example!

Agree! I’m always down for seeing 47 in funny out of place outfits. Plague Doctor outfit when?

As a player who played and loved Codename 47 shortly after its release, I really disliked Contracts when it came out, due to the fact that the majority of the game consisted of what I felt at the time were inferior remakes of C47s levels. I kind of felt cheated I guess…

With time though I’ve really come to appreciate the game a lot, especially the original levels like Beldingford, The Meat King party, and even Asylum Aftermath :slightly_smiling_face:

What’s the part that surprises you? In direct comparison to the C47 Missions the remakes in Contracts aren’t great, however I think they’re different enough to be fun in their own right. Worst thing about Contracts is that they didn’t made a remake for Say Hello to my little Friend.

Hitman Contracts is my second favorite Hitman Game.

I wasn’t surprised (it was supposed to be a Sarcastic Surprised reaction gif), just going for the cheap “Ochoa likes C47 more than any other game ever made” standard gag.

Aahh, i see. English isn’t my first language, so sometimes I miss those hints :hugs:

I actually prefer the Contracts version of the Lee Hong and Franz/Fritz Fuchs missions, particularly since the Hong one allows you to get SA even while poisoning the soup, and the missions leading up to it allow you to be more subtle with the kills there. Don’t like that the option to car bomb Boris was removed, though.

I liked the remake of the one where you kill the negotiator and the police chief and leave the amulet. It’s got way more options than the original.

I like the remakes more, but C47 does have its own identity - for better or worse - which makes its standout levels enjoyable in their own right. Although I do wish Contracts was 99% original with perhaps just one remake (maybe they could have remade Tracking Hayamoto or something from H2SA too)

A couple opinions regarding contracts in the current game.

‘Let nobody see you performing an illegal action’ - IMO, this is a dumb restriction. This includes any target. The idea/phrase “Dead men tell no tells” is made null and void with this. Maybe it will… “encourage” the player to perform more “perfectly”. But what if I don’t give a :rat: 's :peach: if the target sees me winding up to throw a knife or screwdriver at them? Are their friends going to conduct a seance after their funeral asking who it was that killed them, and :boom: SA Lost…?

I mean, if any non-target catches you being naughty then you might as well start over at that point anyway. Yet, there’s also the aspect of them going to tell a guard and you being able to subdue them before they do that. Or maybe that’s just for “crime noticed” and you’re not compromised yet.

Now this… I kinda get it. But also think it’s silly. Regarding pics for featured contract when it shows one or more of the targets being killed. I don’t think I’ve ever done it. Because that kinda spoils it. Take for instance, videos that show a key moment at the beginning of the video. Then several minutes later it leads right back to that moment they featured at the beginning.

I. freaking. hate. this. :man_facepalming:

It’s like “Let’s hook 'em with the most epic/funny/shocking scene right at the start! Then they’ll stay for the whole ride, er, video.”

Eh, anyway. That’s what the “kill preview” image makes me think of. It’s as if the author is saying; “This is what you’re supposed to do! Now, lets see if YOU can do it!” But, like I said. I kinda get it. It’s hard to come up with fitting images that properly display what the contract is about. What can I say? I can tolerate it, but I’m sure I’ll always roll my eyes at it.

I prefer an image that gives hints, or features some aspect of the contract. Not the money shot.

Because I think it’s a better experience for the player to discover that themselves.

Only this part of Whittleton Creek is nice:

The rest of it is mid.

Ambrose Island is a medium-bad map.

Care to expand on this? Mainly, I’m just assuming you like the area of the map which is more covered by shade from tall trees? Or is it something else?

It’s the neighbourhood, a lot of empty houses, some vacant, some full of bugs and neighbours targeting other people in the neighbourhood with lawsuits.

Also its another attempt to stroke the BM fanboys’ nostalgia boner

Yet Whittleton Creek is a far superior level.

I cast the unholy BM worshippers into dark depths of the forum, to give light and nourish the true masterpieces of the series, C47 and the real Hitman 2.
