The true masterpieces in the same way that GTAs 1 and 2 are compared to 3 and 5. ![]()
I mean… If I wanna stroke my nostalgia boner as you say, I´m just gonna go play A New Life straight away. It´s the superior level anyway ![]()
The upper part of the map is bland and is way too open. Also (like @Norseman said) a lot of empty houses and things going on around them are boring.
The part I like most has the cozy vibe that I expect from a map like this. The gold-brown maple trees, the inhabited houses with everyday life in them, the variety in things to discover.
The upper part of the map turns to colder colors with tints of yellow, light green and light blue. Theres more inaccesable houses, more annoying whiney NPCs and it has Nolan Cassidys boring fortress of a house filled with suits (which doesnt fit the map). Its simply not inviting to me.
This is what confused me with your annotated map. Most of the houses in your “nice” zone are empty/inaccessible. Which is why I assumed you just really like the trees!
The Lewinsky house (in the middle of your nice zone) has mostly inaccessible interiors and the garden is patrolled by more “suits”. So, I’m also confused by its inclusion.
I would have been less confused, I think, if your map had looked something like this…
Although I appreciate the reason you probably didn’t draw it like that in the first place is because that’s a way more convoluted map. And you likely didn’t spend as much time on this as I clearly now have (whoops).
Hehe, you’re right. Your map resembles my opinion more than the drawing I posted. The areas mentioned are way more light hearted than the other stale areas crossed out in black.
Its a shame this neighborhood only has a handfull of accessible houses. Really takes the immersion out of it.
Ok, I couldn’t resist doing my own map now.
- Yellow = areas I like.
- White = areas I’m indifferent about.
- Red = areas I dislike.
I feel pretty indifferent about the street covered in trees. It’s nice, but also pretty dark. Generally, I quite enjoy the contrast across the map. I don’t mind the peaceful area beside the creek either.
The inaccessible houses on the bottom and right hand sides of the map don’t bother me. I understand that these are just ‘set dressing’ so I wouldn’t expect them to have interiors.
In contrast, I cannot forgive the Lewinsky, Griswold and Batty properties being inaccessible. These houses are inside the core gameplay area and should be designed as such. I appreciate this would have taken a lot more work. And it would risk the copy/paste nature of the houses feeling too same-y after repeating the process 8 times (instead of just 5). I would have preferred a smaller block of 4 houses in the middle instead of 6. Generally, I favour maps which feel authentic over maps being big in size. If a smaller map can be designed more thoroughly to feel like a real place, that’s better for me than a larger map which starts to feel empty or copy/pasted.
The Schmidt Property, on the other hand, I love. I know it’s empty. But I think it really works as a contrast to the other houses which are full of furniture and people. The house needs to be empty for the real estate opportunity. And the idea of luring your target to a totally secluded location really scratches an itch for me, gameplay-wise. Plus, there’s the intrigue of the murder scene in the house which lends an eery quality to the place. It evokes something a bit like the ghost in ‘Traditions of the Trade’.
I’m not a huge fan of the construction area. I don’t mind there being a construction site on the map, but the way it has been implemented feels a little undercooked. A few more design flourishes to that area would have made all the difference, I think.
And then, finally, I really don’t mind the Janus & Cassidy houses being swarmed with guards. I enjoy the idea of these highly guarded locations hiding in plain sight in an otherwise unassuming residential area. I like the stealth gameplay they allow for and, especially, sedating everyone in Cassidy’s house using the fumigation equipment.
Just to emphasise, my post was a joke. I harbour no ill feelings towards any part of this wonderful map.
I don’t like the WOA games. The tone and gameplay and general feel of everything is just so different from what made me love the Hitman games. For me Hitman is just a trilogy of ps2 games
…and 1 pc game thats even better than those.
I agree. Absolution is better.
As much as I love C47, H2SA is the superior game of the two.
Codename 47 will always be my favorite, but Contracts and SA are always close second.
Some days SA is my favorite, other days its contracts.
SA has the best soundtrack for sure, followed by Contracts and Codename 47.
BMs soundtrack is also fantastic, its Jesper Kyd after all.
The best thing about BM, is not playing the game and just listening to the soundtrack.
Jesus, I’ll have to start muting you lot…
you’re all wrong. the best one is clearly hitman 2 christmas game ![]()

I love Whittleton Creek. It’s one of my favourite maps of the WOA Trilogy ![]()
I strongly disagree, but you’re entitled to your opinion ![]()
Hitman 2 Silent Assassin is an almost perfect game. Aside from some bugs and quirks, the story, pacing, and levels are top notch.
