Eyed on this game for some time, now it confirms a release in two weeks. I am still not sure I want to buy it because I am not that good at Hack’n’Slash games, but I kinda like the general style and parkour.
EDIT: Ah it has a demo, will at least try that.
Not going to lie, that one looks kinda neat
You know what, Ubisoft isn’t including any of the DLC of AC4 into the new remake. So that means no Freedom Cry DLC. No playing as a former slave carving his way through slave-owners and freeing his people. ![]()
Considering they axed a Civil War type game due to “political tension” on the subject – I sure as hell hope that’s not the reason they chose not to include it here.
It’s absence is noted and disappointing to see anyhow. I feel like that game is more relevant than ever to release (in the USA), since the admin there is trying to erase and omit any mention of the country’s dark history with slavery from that time. ![]()
Also, I think that smaller title was also rife with tailing missions, so it could benefit from the new revamped mission structure too.
Could be, but they are just sticking to Edward’s story, including no modern day segments, and that’s why they said it wasn’t included, so that may have some legitimacy. It’s also why I won’t even be bothering with this. A remaster, sure. But a remake, and one that fundamentally alters the point of the first version? If they re-recorded the entire cast too, then that’s another unnecessary change. I hate that so many studios are doing this.
I guess one other reason might be the fact that they turned Freedom Cry into a standalone title a few years back if I’m not mistaken, so it’s technically not considered part of Black Flag anymore ![]()
That being said, it would still benefit from a touch-up, more than the base game imho. It was a pretty subpar experience back when I played it, and way below my expectations.
I say, leave every goddamned game alone until the series is finished. Why is that so hard for these developers?
That´s the problem - they don´t want to finish (and the manifold options for AC settings make it even less likely). New game = more money. Remaking/remastering popular older game = even more money.
Ehh, I don’t buy that. Either it’s them limiting their scope for this remake, they’re planning on selling a remade Freedom Cry seperately, or they just don’t want to touch it again.
AC3 Remastered had both the base game, the story DLC, and even included the HD remaster of Liberation, the PS Vita title.
Yeah more effort is being put into the AC4 remake, but it still feels weird
Freedom Cry never got a standalone release, it’s just an Expansion that requires AC4 to play.
Edit: Never mind. It did but it’s really weird with how they handled it since select markets only got it. Mine didn’t
It’s already on my wishlist
Just wanted to point out the fact, but I agree, it´s weird.
AC3 was “just” a remaster, so less effort involved, and adding Liberation was probably an incentive for people to buy it, since it was a limited release originally. Not to mention that you would get the whole package for free as part of a larger Odyssey edition, so it almost feels like they were struggling with selling the remaster in the first place…
Freedom Cry´s scope doesn´t really justify it being a standalone title though. It works fine as a DLC, so unless they are planning on revamping it as a remake of its own, it should probably be included here (though honestly, it doesn´t add much to the overall experience imho). Could still turn out to be a late reveal, but I doubt they´d omit it from the trailer on purpose…
Yeah, I got it as a DLC back in the day, but noticed some time ago that they separated it in the shop. Didn´t know it´s a regional thing though… Makes the whole thing even more baffling.
Apparently the Standalone version (which I’ve played on Steam once) is broken in that it doesn’t have your crew sing sea shanties (one of the most talked about things of AC4). The DLC version of the game does have that, though maybe that’s because it’s pulling them from the base game?
Regardless, I know that’s a bit of an annoyance some people had with it being released on its own vs as an addition.
Subnautica 2 hitting early access May 14.
Developer/Publisher legal shenanigans notwithstanding, I really hope they’re able to recapture the magic of the first game.
Below Zero was ok, but smaller and weirder, and I never finished it.
I don’t normally play survival games but Subnautica hooked me from the very beginning and was a once in a lifetime gaming experience.
The Talos Principle 3 is coming out next year. ![]()
What differentiates a story from the real world, or a simulation? A story is a series of choices, a set of moments captured, examined, and elevated. The real world goes on and on, but a story must have a clear beginning, middle, and end. And so the Talos Principle, a story Croteam worked on for more than a decade, must also come to an end.
Did not expect any sequel. Looking forward to it! ![]()
The previously VR-exclusive games Moss and Moss: Book 2 are getting combined into a new Flat version for PC and Consoles!
I haven’t played these, but I remember I got both games for like 27 dollars a month or so ago? I’ve heard they’re very fun and cute zelda-like puzzle-platformers.
I wonder if the absence of VR head-turning and physical actions will make the game seem… less engaging?
Tbh I don’t even know if you control the Mouse in the VR version or just guide them along. ![]()
Move over Bond, the real GOTY 2026 comes out this week too! ![]()
From what I’ve looked up, this seems to be the first actually good Bluey video game. Others were very simple mobile games (or horribly predatory in some way), and the one “Bluey The Videogame” on consoles was very much a “Baby’s First Videogame”
But Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen is the first to live up to the standards that made Bluey one of the most-watched shows in the world. Also commissioned by BBC Studios, it was made in Brisbane by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and Halfbrick Studios of Fruit Ninja fame, making it the first Bluey game made in Australia, the first to involve Bluey’s creator and the last original Bluey story we’re likely to get from Brumm until the 2027 movie.
After playing the opening levels of Halfbrick’s take on Bluey, I can say it feels like an actual game; the studio has said it should take about 10 hours to complete, which feels accurate. It is essentially a classic adventure game in which Bluey and Bingo chase their impish dad, Bandit, through a series of magical artworks after he pinches their pen. The game’s design rewards curiosity, exploration and the liberal use of Bluey’s magic wand. Meanwhile, Brumm’s script gets Chilli and Bandit debating how to avoid lawnmower parenting while they concoct the game’s next level.
