From what Iâve looked up, this seems to be the first actually good Bluey video game. Others were very simple mobile games (or horribly predatory in some way), and the one âBluey The Videogameâ on consoles was very much a âBabyâs First Videogameâ
But Blueyâs Quest for the Gold Pen is the first to live up to the standards that made Bluey one of the most-watched shows in the world. Also commissioned by BBC Studios, it was made in Brisbane by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and Halfbrick Studios of Fruit Ninja fame, making it the first Bluey game made in Australia, the first to involve Blueyâs creator and the last original Bluey story weâre likely to get from Brumm until the 2027 movie.
After playing the opening levels of Halfbrickâs take on Bluey, I can say it feels like an actual game; the studio has said it should take about 10 hours to complete, which feels accurate. It is essentially a classic adventure game in which Bluey and Bingo chase their impish dad, Bandit, through a series of magical artworks after he pinches their pen. The gameâs design rewards curiosity, exploration and the liberal use of Blueyâs magic wand. Meanwhile, Brummâs script gets Chilli and Bandit debating how to avoid lawnmower parenting while they concoct the gameâs next level.
A cartoon where the adults actually have social intelligence, something all other cartoons I know seem to lack. It makes the show easier to watch for the parents in the same room. The message of each episode also seems more meaningful I think.
I played Toy Story 3 on the PS3 last year and it still holds up as a fun platformer following the movie. Plus the ToyBox mode which is like a mini open-world city builder. (Complete tasks and build up a little western town)
Also based on the boxart I guess theyâll have playable Zurg in ToyBox which was a PS3 exclusive so thatâs nice.
(Ah man now I remember playing the Ratatouille and WALL-E games on my PC when I was young. Hope those get brought back someday tooâŚ)
I was also supremely surprised by this. I loved (and was so frustrated with) playing the sequel on my PS3 so long ago. So cool, hope it captures that same challenge and spectacle.
Tbh the State of Play was fine but even as a God of War fan, I donât think they should have done 20 uncut minutes of the spinoff. Itâs the same structure as the reboots, itâs very cutscene-heavy at the start of course.
Fun to engage with yourself but maybe not so much to watch, given how slow it was.
The facial capture and hair physics though were really freaking cool. Hard to believe Sony doesnât even have a 2027 release locked down, just âin developmentâ. That slice looked really polished.
The uncut gameplay for the original GOWâ18 made sense since it was an entirely new style and direction for the series. This, ehh, looks cool but I wasnât flying out of my seat with excitement.
Okay, so it seems the new Stuntman game is developed in partnership with NBCUniversal, and may specifically feature their films as levels for the stunts.
From the Playstation Store page:
Take on iconic stunts inspired by fan favorite Universal Pictures films and NBCUniversal TV shows like Fast & Furious, Back to the Future, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Death Race. Stuntman: Hollywood puts you behind the wheel to pull off death-defying stunts - always in style.
Granted not all of the vehicles shown in the trailer were licensed cars, but I remember the original Stuntman games were all parody-based films you took part in. Ignition I remember had a Bond-themed movie with an Aston Martin-type car and flashy gadgets.
Hopefully this new one isnât restricted by what Universal owns and doesnât own for theming, but weâll see.
The GoW spinoff looks cool. I just hope that cube dont gets too annoying. Also this game has, just like the other reboot GoW games toned down the violence, or better say the gore. The Plantmonsters looked cool amd plants dont have blood, okay, but the next enemy type shown are like empty armors animated by spirits or some shit?
I know nothing about Xman, never cared about the 90s cartoon back then an certainly dont gave one shit about the entire MCU, but i enjoy some good old videogame violence, so Wolverine looks kinda cool.
Ace Combat 8 release date has been announced: October 2nd 2026.
And with is confirmation of the rumoured Ace Combat 0 as a preorder bonus!
For those that donât know: due to licensing, older Ace Combat cannot be sold, and most are PS2 only. This is the only moment it will be ported to other systems.
Read the preview by our main domestic gaming website for it today, and it sounded absolutely amazing.
The AC0 port is a nice bonus, but there seems to be no indication whether or not it will be available separately for purchase after release⌠I´m not keen on preordering (in general), and not sure I wanna cough up the full price here considering I currently don´t have a powerful enough machine to run the main game⌠(might change by the time this is out) And I can just play AC0 via PCSX2âŚ
