What QoL Improvements would you like?

Especially when it’s something like The Eccleston Illumination when the two targets are basically identical-looking but have different kill conditions on some levels.

  • Handler (Diana) assistance toggleable on/off. Before you get a chance to think about infiltrating a certain way or isolating a target after stumbling on some information, Diana just literally tells you where to go or what to do. Stop it!
  • Being able to subdue/garrote on stairs and elevated path. How this is still not possible is beyond me. Yesterday I karatechopped a NPC because he was standing on some clutter next to a garbage can… Come on!?!
  • Stopping an animation halfway through/making animations less fixed. For instance lockpicking. Once you notice the suspicioun meter filling you should be able to stop the animation immediatly. This was even possible in Blood Money… Lockpicking should require you to hold down the button for the duration of the picking. Once you let go the animation should stop immediatly.
  • Some notable differences between sniper rifles that influence gameplay would be nice since we have 19 of them.
  • Different ammo for sniper rifles.
  • Kill specifications visible when using instinct on escalations similar to contract mode. Especially since a lot of NPC’s look similar.
  • A screwdriver unlock would be nice
  • Either no closets/boxes right next to doors or change the button configuration. It’s so annoying to enter a closet when you just want to go through the door. Or opening a door when you want to hide.
  • Not having to go back to the main menu after playing a contract. Just a simple button to return to contract mode/featured contract tab. Again, how this is not implemented in 5 years(!) is beyond me.
  • Some way to add features of Master Mode to Professional Mode. I prefer to play on Professional Mode but I really like the running footsteps of Master. Some sort of customization would be nice.
  • Make Whittleton Creek replayable by removing the clue gathering (similar to Colorado).
  • Adding the car exit in Hawkey Bay and adding a starting point with NPC’s already on the map would make Hawkes Bay much more interesting to play.
  • NPC’s right now are bullet sponges. Having to shoot them 12(!) times for them to die is a bit much…
  • Do something about the lighting please. Bloom has been discussed many times but the indoor areas of Paris (entrance hall, kitchen, basement area) and Sapienza are waaaayyy to dark. Especially the caves. You have to hold down instinct just to see where you’re going. The Mumbai trainyard is also very dark. Hawkes Bay and the Final Test are just too dark altogether, those two levels are ridiculous. Marrakesh and other maps do not have this problem at all so adjusting sliders doesn’t really work and I shouldn’t have to. It’s up to you IO.
  • Since everything is always online I would like to see more stats of my own gameplay. For instance Elusive Targets. I can see in the Career Tab wether I eliminated them or if I failed but how did I do? What was my score, silent assassin or not? How did I kill them? Headshots or poison or a fall or melee? If you’re going to force us to be always online make it worth our while.
  • Make frisking always possible. If I am dumb enough to get frisked while carrying illegal items that’s my own stupid fault. Same with the shoulder swap, stop the handholding.
  • Clean up the inventory menu. It has become a chore to go through all the re-skins.
  • Saving a loadout for a mission and/or map.
  • Make sure that every door is able to be blown open by explosions/propane flasks/fire extinguishers. Make it consistent.

Can’t believe I never thought about this until now, but why the heck are The Classics and the Escalation tracks taking up space in the challenges menu for each mission? I think it would make more sense if the four “Classics” challenges (SA, SO, SASO, and sniper) were just in the “Assassination” category, and all the different “[whatever] track” challenges that are currently in a seemingly random order were in lists like the Mastery tiers screen. (Also while I’m at it, why the heck are challenges in basically a random order on every level?)

I have very minor improvment suggestion. I would like to have NPC’s not switch voice actor’s. When I was playing Illusionf of Grandieur, I noticed that target is voiced by Matthew Gravelle, but if you distract him or spook him, his VA is suddenly changed to Yuri Lowenthal. It’s unnoticable, but it annoys me. It could be easily fixed too.

When I play HITMAN 1 maps and switch starting locations, the disguise still use the 2016 model for the thumbnail. It’s a very small thing but it’s noticeable for me.

Oh and also Berlin’s professional and casual difficulty still mention having a handler in the mission. I know this is for consistency but Berlin does not have a handler.

I’d really appreciate it if IOI would split the Melee button into multiple buttons - maybe one for “stealth melee” and another for “violent melee”.

So many times I’m about to poison or garrote or subdue a target, but then master assassin 47 decides “fuck that, I’m gonna spin them around and punch them in the face”, losing my SA rating. Even when the prompt is clearly visible for the action I want, 47 will still sometimes decide to just punch them in the face.

Why does 47 insist so much on and prioritize punching NPCs in the face when he has a clear stealth option at his disposal?

The possibility of skipping video when you leak the ICA files in Chongqing.

I can only assume the whole lockdown sequence takes some time to prepare itself behind the curtains while you watch the cutscene. So you don’t skip and the whole civilian personnel is still inside and the guards didn’t become alert yet…

It’s a minor cosmetic thing, but I wish all the default starting locations in Hitman 3 would let us start with the suit of our choice, unless there is a specific story reason why we can’t. I’d like to play the proper story campaign, but just with the suit of my choice.

Currently only Dartmoor (Main Road) and Chongqing (Train Station) allow for us to choose our starting suit. All the others are locked in.

Dubai (Burj Al-Ghazali Exterior): The Skydiving Suit makes story sense, since that’s how 47 is infiltrating the building. But he changes into the Ashen suit once we get into the atrium lobby. Why can’t we pick which suit he changes into after entering the lobby?

Berlin (Bus Stop): I can’t think of any good reason 47 is required to be wearing the looted suit of his dead best friend. I’d really love to play the canon story of Berlin, but starting in a proper suit that actually belongs to 47.

Mendoza (Winery Viewpoint): Again, no good story reason why 47 can only start here in the Black & White Tuxedo. We even have several tuxedo options to choose from, so why can’t we pick which suit to use?

Romania: The Subject 47 suit is the only one that makes sense from a story perspective. Still, there could be a locker where our suit choice is waiting for us. What did Providence do with 47’s clothes after they captured him and stripped him half-naked?

I agree, also we should be able to have a suit as an agency pickup on any mission, i don’t see how this would affect gameplay, would just be a cool thing for when you want to start in an undercover starting location

This doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t get why the Atrium Lobby start doesn’t fulfill this criteria already.

This makes sense because in the post-mission cutscene, 47 shows up to help Olivia in his normal signature suit. So, not only did he steal Grey’s clothes, but he threw away the jacket right after taking care of Berlin. If he’s not going to wear it for an entire mission arc, why bother enforcing it?

Also makes sense. Would be nice to have a briefing while dressed as Bond (or a bird lol) Though, can you still talk to Diana if you start closer to the party and just run back up the hill, or is it only available in the default start?

You cannot tango with Diana in some of the suits; probably the removal of the suit choice was to make sure players won’t miss the important plot-wise tango cutscene.

I suppose it can work if I pretend 47 already came in via the Skydiving Suit, but the Atrium Lobby start point feels more like 47 just took the elevator up. And I lose the cinematic visual of 47 stripping off his Skydiving Suit to reveal a normal suit underneath (sorta like that James Bond moment of him stripping off a wetsuit to reveal a tuxedo underneath). Or the hilarity of 47 taking off his Skydiving Suit to reveal a flamingo costume underneath.

47 is very wasteful with clothing in the latest game. Not only did he take Grey’s clothes to wear them in Berlin and throw them away right after, but he did the same thing in Mendoza. He shows up in the Black & White Tuxedo, only to throw that away and change into his Signature Suit to meet Diana after the party.

Is there any reason these post scenes couldn’t play with 47 wearing whatever clothes he exited the mission with? The cutscenes in Hitman 3 are generated in the game engine instead of being pre-rendered like in the 2016 game, so I’d think there wouldn’t be any limitation on what 47 could be wearing.

I just tested it out, and it doesn’t work. 47 can’t run fast enough from the parking lot to the viewing platform before Diana’s already walking away. So the meeting with Diana seems only possible using the default starting point.

Do we know if the suit limitations on tangoing with Diana were done for game programming purposes or story purposes? It’d be silly to tango with Diana in the flamingo suit (which I’m sad we can’t), but I could also see that not being possible due to the possibility of clipping issues with the scene playing out due to the size of the flamingo head and the proximity between 47 and Diana.

Still, there’s an easy workaround. Just have Diana make some comment about 47 being inappropriately dressed if you approach her to tango wearing the flamingo suit, and have a spare tuxedo available somewhere on the map to change into.

The weird thing is, there already (kind of) is. If you do the Closing Statement mission story, at the end you get a “47’s Signature Suit With Gloves” from a clothes hanger in Yates’s house. No idea if it’s always there, but I think it might only be there if you do that mission story.

The cutscenes are done with game assets yes, but are definitely still pre-rendered.

Alright, I’m gonna say it:

A toggle for Sprinting is sorely needed. We already have one for aiming!

It would A. give a nice push for more accessibility, and B. keep me from developing carpal tunnel with how much I’m squeezing the controller in this game.

I’m honestly surprised Hitman 3 didn’t ship with a few more (or much of any) accessibility features, given how big of an impact game devs have been trying to make in implementing it the past few years. There’s not even colour-blindness settings, and I feel like that’s normally included!

I’m with you on this, the game needs more accessibility features. I’m glad they changed the SA indicator to make it easier for color-blind people to tell, but it’s only a step in the right direction.

Only real accessibility settings I think are subtitle settings and aim toggle, maybe gamma correction or one or two other control settings.

Some ‘quick settings’ that you can customise, based on which settings you frequently turn on and off (such as mission timer). These could be bound to key combinations, or maybe given their own list immediately to the right of the screen when you pause the game.

For example if mission timer was at the top of the list, your keystrokes to toggle it would be:

#press pause
#press right
#press action (because it’s top of the list)
#unpause

Really? How can you tell? Exit cutscenes are all obviously generated in real-time since the NPCs keep doing whatever they were already doing in the background. So I just assumed all cutscenes were generated in real-time by the game engine.

The ability to move items/weapons from the main inventory into an archive section. There is no need for a hundred ducks, twenty lockpics and fifthy melee items that all do the same. It’s pretty annoying to navigate through the jungle of reskins to find the item I want.
