Once more into the breach…

Funnily enough I haven’t touched it in weeks.

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact… same fXXXing thing… over and over again expecting… shit to change.

And then I started seeing, everywhere I looked, doing the exact same fXXXing thing… over and over and over and over again thinking ‘this time is gonna be different’ no, no, no please… This time is gonna be different, I’m sorry, I don’t like… The way…

Far Cry series is the same game doing the exact same thing over and over and over and over again …
LOL just joking.

Started Far Cry 6, I have played all its previos installment and its villains makes it a little dramatic - Vaas Montenegro is legendary, Pagan Min is next to Vaas.
This time its a dictator. I still remember the first game where there was super human mutants which scared a lot with surprises.

Jesus Christ!

It’s my top played game on Xbox this year, although Hitman across multiple platforms was my top played game.

Still, at 145 hours, I’d played 100 too many. I haven’t finished the main quest, or 3 of the 4 faction (aka fetch) quests. Did a lot of side content and dicking around and trying to break the game systems and whatnot. I will jump back in when there is a significant update (January?).

Platinumed Alan Wake II. This, technically, makes it my third game overall. I didn’t fall for the obvious trick in the book my first time around so it took me half a playthrough to get it.

Hopefully, but I doubt it. This may require a series of patches through out 2024. Although I think instead of just adding and tweaking things, they would get further if they reduce or cut out content to help stabilize the game.

Agreed, certainly. I am referring to them specifically promising updates to come. Although right, a significant one probably won’t come for a while.

So I have played deep rock galactic a lot and only just found out about this cosmetic though I’m probably not going to be able to get it because to get it you have to stream / upload the game 2 times a month and have 100 subscribers / followers and I doubt I’m going to get that at all because I don’t have much of a interest in content creation shame because it’s my new favourite cosmetic

One of the most surprising things in Dying Light 2 is that it lets you walk around while listening to audio logs.

You can only access them after you pick them up by going to the menu, but you can exit out and still walk or run around until you interact with someone.
Great! Feels like a lot of bigger games these days have lacked this feature.

Completed all of the challenges for the mural in the hideout of Hi Fi RUSH!!!

Now time for the Arcade mode.

Getting the challenges wasn’t as frustrating as I expected. It also was a great call to leave the Rhytmn Tower for last. It was pure exciting fun to complete it twice in a row. LMAO

Got Balders Gate, created my Character and did the tutorial section. Now I wait for my friends.

The Character Creation id say is on par with Cyberpunk where while you have plenty to work with there isn’t nuance like in Fromsoft Games or Bethesda Games where you can make abominations to society.

I was very stand offish about this game particularly cause turn based was never really a turn on for me, that and understanding Dice Rolls looked like learning a new language. Fortunately that’s not that case and it’s easy to get into/learn.

My character is a Human Druid. I particularly chose this class cause it felt the more interesting in terms of gameplay where you could speak to animals and also turn into animals as-well such as a cat which can be used to sneak around and distract people.

I’ve been also playing a lot of Fortnite because I personally think the variety now is great so I can switch between the Lego PVE and then No Build Battle Royale whenever I want and it won’t get boring. That and FOMO got me hard with the introduction of Solid Snake.

First off, I don’t think I posted it here before, because I can’t find record of it in Dec. 2021, but two years ago, I beat I Am The Night (Hardcore Permadeath Mode) in Batman: Arkham Origins!

I was interested in booting up Arkham Origins again for some winter/holiday themed gaming again, and I saw there were Online trophies I still haven’t gotten!

I knew the servers were essentially taken down a long time ago, but I looked it up and there IS a way to access the Online mode in 2023! It’s weird, but there’s a trick to it!

…Except for the fact that the Servers/service actually stopped working sometime on/after August 1st, 2023… :disappointed:

Worst whiplash from excitement to disappointment omg…

And completed all of Hi Fi RUSH!!!

Beautiful, amazing, fun game. Tango Gameworks knocked it out of the park with this one.

They even give you the gift basket in the end. LMAO

Played through Mirror´s Edge: Catalyst a few weeks back. Overall enjoyed it. Gameplay-wise it was a bit better than the original game I think, with parkour being a bit smoother and the runner´s vision feature preventing me from getting stuck too much. Also the combat was definitely less irritating with no need to (or focus on) disarm enemies this time around. Story was meh, even more than the first game, but I was expecting that. As for the open world(ish) design, I´m at odds. It was neat at first, but as new areas opened up, the traversal became pretty repetitive and the limited level design started showing itself more and more. That being said, DICE once again knocked it out of the park with the city art style and visual design. Just like the first game, I absolutely adored it and in the parts of the game that had me traverse some of those high-rise locations, it was absolutely breathtaking. I wanted to do the side missions/deliveries as well, but they turned out to be pretty demanding in terms of how quick you need to be, so I opted not to.

Additionally, in the past week, I´ve been playing Yakuza 6. Wasn´t really planning on it this year, but just couldn´t resist seeing how the story continues. Finished it today and I can already say that out of the games I´ve played so far (Y0,YK,YK2,Y3,Y4,Y5,Y6), it´s easily in the top 3 for me. I loved the story, the music, the characters, the Onomichi setting (Kamurocho is a bit cut down in this instalment, but I still like that they made it noticeably different and “modernised”), and the new minigames (a lot of which I´m only getting into, since I tend to leave that stuff for after the main story). Combat is pretty good too. At least I didn´t find it nearly as clunky/bad as people make it out to be. Being solely focused on Kiryu, I also enjoyed how concetrated and compact the story was, especially compared to the over-convoluted mess that was Yakuza 5. And speaking of Kiryu, this was by far the best (read most badass and mature) iteration of him in my book.

Now, I´m left with a bunch of substories and side content to finish here (adding to the massive pile of unfinished substories and side content from the previous four games), so it´ll probably take me a few months to go through that, but I´m already considering which game to continue with (seeing as RGG Studio will soon release a third game in the span of a year, I really wanna catch up, at least story-wise). I´ll probably go chronologically with Judgment, or maybe take a historical sidestep with the Ishin remake (I´m a little worried about the size of that one though…).

Played through Arkham Asylum on hard for the first time. Ivy’s Bossfight took me a while, but overall it was a good experience.

I honestly don’t know why people hating the Joker fight so much, it’s nothing special, sure, but some folks act like it’s the worst boss fight of all time.

Currently I’m downloading Arkham City

It’s because the game was one of the very first pieces of entertainment where The Joker could kick a guy in the balls and follow it up with the Griddy.

Had to pull it up again

That is the crux of the issue, it is a very videogamey fight against a character most people associate more for his cunning and gadgetry. In fact it shouldn’t have even been a fight, it should have been having to foil some sort of over-the-top Joker plot.
