What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

Good game (:
This is my favourite track.

I certainly enjoyed it! If you got the recent DLC too, I would interested to hear what you think of it.

Kinda got lazy and didn’t play the episodes as they were coming out, but now I’m actually getting into Dispatch and I’m really enjoying myself.
But I don’t wanna like binge-watch this and finish it because it’s like a very fun interactive animated series.

Also my buddy Poogs put it best on the Telltale forums.

Me and @TheChicken played more of The Outlast Trials.

Honestly, I’m kindof getting into it. Let’s say up front though that TOT is an extremely unsubtle game. Extreme gore, nudity, sex references etc. Playing it for the first time, not really knowing much about it, it was an oppressive experience. But when you get past that, start understanding how the game works, it is quite fun. I do want to get more into it. Also Chicken beat me at chess, but only by a technicality as I ran out of time!

Me and Chicken also - finally - finished Dying Light 2. Ooh boy. I mean, to start off with, I do think Dying Light 2 is a good game. I’d probably give it a solid 7/10. If you can buy it for like $10 and go in with low expectations, I think you’ll have a good time. It is a good game, but one of those games that just has lots of odd or weird little things that bring down the experience.

Does this mean the sequel will be absolute dogwater as well? Does this mean we won’t be seeing the romance options again for the rest of fucking time?

Oh shit, the Mercenary Day bounty is probably up, I need to put in Borderlands 4 and take a break from the Lego Marvel games.

Bought Battlefield 6. Did the first mission which was bonkers and have played an hour or so of multiplayer.

I played the hell out of the beta but the time to kill feels ridiculous compared to the battlefield 3 and 4. Maybe I’m just not as good as I once was. Still enjoying it though.

Black Ops 7 Campaign.

It’s completely okay, I genuinely think there was a genuine hate campaign going on given the various out of context clips floating around. Decided to check it out and as someone who has a somewhat in-depth understanding of the Black Ops Saga from it’s beginning in WaW to now BO7. There’s a good amount to unpack.

So this time around it’s Co-op and it’s serviceable. The worst part about this campaign is that it has the monumental task of canonizing Black Ops 2 narrative that has branching narratives depending on how deep you get with it. Because of this Black Ops 7 contradicts these choice and inadvertently canonized a glitch making Harper and Karma still alive which is impossible within the games lore.

Lore breaking aside. The big bad being the Guild uses hot button topic to resurrect a deceased character with the goal of War Profiteering. This leads to the macguffin introduced in Black Ops 6 taking centerfold carrying out the games events.

There are little details I can appreciate, but the reality is the campaigns meat and potatoes come with the End Game mode which has a very addictive PVE gameplay loop where your goal is to make builds and rise through power levels to eventually beat the final boss of that mode with post launch support happening.

The Campaign as is, it’s fine. Definitely not as bad as Black Ops 3 and how convoluted its plot is with the whole train goes boom aspect of it. So if I could do a ranking.

  1. Black Ops 2
  2. Black Ops 1
  3. WaW
  4. Cold War
  5. Black Ops 6
  6. Declassified
  7. Black Ops 7
  8. Black Ops 4 Operator Missions
  9. Black Ops 3

I think it’s time to put the legacy of black ops to rest. I’m glad it survived the CoD series reboot in 2019. But they really dropped the ball and contradicted what took place before in Black Ops 2.

You know I remember buying it because I thought it was the hypest thing on the planet back then only to refund it because it was so incredibly poor in the way it was optimised for console. Anyway I got the ultimate edition for a song on PSN and I have to say it is decently fun, the gameplay isn’t knocking my socks off but the story has been good though it is good with minimal glitches and parts of the world that defy the conventions of the genre it set are memorable.

You don’t even need the title to know what I am playing and if you do then you need a neurosurgeon because your memory is shot.

…Is it Control?

What? No! If anything Control is one of the best optimised games on Playstation, that game ran like a dream no matter how much concrete I ripped out of the walls or had floating around me. Also Control is way more convention defying most anything that isn’t a Remedy game.

No, I meant Cyberpunk 2077.

Sorry.

I’m sorrryyyyyy you’re so right and it was soooo obvious lmao

The moment I closed the tab after replying to you, my brain was like “NO WAIT ITS CYBERPUNK”
alas… I was too late… :frowning:

Anyway, your typo “got the Ultimate Edition for a song” made me think for the “price of” a song…
Sooo, hmm what’s an old game that often gets very deep discounts that was known to run poorly on consoles at launch? Control. I remember. Ehhh, lol I can’t win em all I guess lol

Steep discounts? I am pretty sure you can get Control for free on the PS5. (Though that might be because I already owned it on PS4)

Damn it, after this I am going to want to play Control again aren’t I?

A pox on you, Chicken. A pox!

Does anyone play Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2?

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts

I’m really liking the intuitive mechanics of it. Having to judge distance and adjust your scope, and also line up the reticule with the given wind speed. I hope it doesn’t ruin sniping for me in Hitman.

Agree with you @Tetrafish_21

I am playing Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 and I can say this is the best Sniper game I have played till date. It’s a Sniper Simulator game.

As usual I played as Agent 47 with Silent Assassin rating on mission 1- Targets only kill, No bodies found, no alarms raised, luring bullets only, no bullet missed, missed the headshot on third Target though - on highest difficulty (dead eye). Not killing the NPC was tricky but I used Hitman method to solve it. Adjusting the scope is now the best part with some math calculation of distance and wind speed

Here is my gameplay

I picked up that whole series in a Steam sale but made the mistake of trying to start at the beginning  the first game is like Temu COD & some of the missions just flat-out don’t work properly. But next time I’m looking for something to do I’ll be sure to skip ahead because those later games look pretty rad.

Yes there are still some bugs and glitches in the latest game SGWC2 but once you are in the snipers nest, it’s the best simulation. I personally forgive all bugs once I am at the scope.

There are two types of mission Long Shot and Classic contracts, the classic contracts have short range and bullet drop and weather does not matter. Players can play as a FPS game but the gameplay is not as good as any FPS leaders like COD or Battlefield - infact it is not to play like FPS just like Hitman. In classic contracts we can use gadgets like drone or auto turret Sniper max range of 1000m. Stealth is the key.

The game felt like the 2007 Shooter movie starring Mark Wahlberg.

Hope the developers release their next installment with improvements and more of long shot contracts.

I am playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I really loved the first one, I played it when we had COVID and it was a beautiful escape from a sad reality. The second is not very different, there are some new things like forging weapons, some icons for better awareness in the game, but the experience remains the same, all about immersion. My PC is not very powerful, but nature in this game is really beatiful to look at. Combat is still challenging for me, so usually I go stealth from behind or wait for the night to attack bandits with the help of my dog. If surprised in the woods by bandits and my horse throws me off ( horses have a “courage” rating ) , I surrender, give them the money, but follow them and kill from behind later and get my money back. I also like creating potions with alchemy even if it’s not possibile to experiment with ingredients like in Skyrim. There is no fast travel, so it’s a very slow game. Since I don’t have much time to play these days, it’s a bit of a problem but an incentive to think better where to go and what to do to optimize time. In the end it’s a fantastic game which I will play for months. I already voted for the game to be Game of the Year 2025.

Really?? The first game had fast travel, although it was slow fast travel where you watched your player icon make his way across the map, and you could be interrupted by bandits or other scenarios. Surprised to hear the sequel lacks this.

I meant fast travel as teleport. But yes, there is still that but i don’t use it because it’s too dangerous and I don’t like leaving things to chance especially since you can’t save whenever you want. Which is another thing that you may not like.

Finished Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles and, playing the final string of battles, I’m fairly certain that despite how many times I’ve played it over the years, this is somehow the first time I’ve actually beaten it. (I’m sure being super-overleveled because I “had” to learn every skill on one character for a trophy helped.)

The game’s still brilliant, a top three JRPG for me, with FF’s best story and the best iteration of the job system. The quality of life features do a lot to streamline combat and character management and the excellent voice acting really elevates the narrative, adding a surprising amount of depth and emotion. (Algus/Argath is an even more detestable piece of elitist shit when voiced.)

A few minor quibbles aside (fast forward really needs to be a toggle, not a hold), it’s exactly what I hoped it would be.

Also started that third playthrough of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which I am still enthralled with. I’m playing in French this time, because why not? Esquie is even more delightful in French and I think Verso might have just a touch more gravitas. I do miss the tingle-inducing way that English Sciel says “Reeady” at the beginning of her turn, though.
