What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

How does it compare to Splinter Cell Blacklist or Sniper Elite 4 IRT stealth?

I’ve just started playing F1 2021 after abandoning the franchise for 2 years. I used to be quite good but now I’m spinning out as much as Nkita Mazepin.

I’m a big fan of the Formula One games. Are you playing through Braking Point or have you dived straight into career mode (and if yes, which one)?

I’ve dived straight into a my team career mode. My car is really bad at the minute though so I could barely race at Moncao. I’ve also started a coop career mode with my mate.

Have you played Braking Point? I might get it at some point as it doesn’t look too bad for £5.

If you’re on PC and own Fallout 3 GOTY get the TTW mod. You won’t regret it.

Braking Point is included in the game, it’s just the themed cosmetics that cost money. It’s got a pretty decent story in my opinion and there are some good scenarios in it but it’s very easy. If you do want to get some DLC though, the My Team Icon Pack that comes with the deluxe edition is pretty cool.

Before upgrades the FOM car tends to be very draggy and heavy so I’d reccomend you work towards aerodynamic and chassis upgrades. Also, toward the season you should definetly start saving money and sign a new teammate as the F2 drivers always tend to be backmarkers or midfield drivers no matter the car.

Oh, for some reason Braking Point is £4.99 in the UK. I don’t know if it’s because I bought the standard edition.

I’m focusing on chassis upgrades and I think I’ll upgrade the power unit next as it’s hard to defend from cars, especially in a straight line.

ah, okay. dishonored is a lot more vertical than either game. it doesn’t have splinter cell’s shadow mechanics either.

I played Balan Wonderworld on Switch as a funny joke but I actually really like this game and am accepting of its faults.

This isn’t funny, now I get sad when people are so cruel about it.

Game is fine, good at moments but very unpolished and feels like an indie experiment and not a game from a AAA publisher, still fun though.

Nice, thanks.

This post made me go back to SC Blacklist again. I wish Xbox did a FPS boost but it’s a smooth 30. It might get some hate but I LOVE Blacklist. It’s not classic SC mechanics but it’s such a great game.

Who doesn’t love a Panther Perfectionist run on the dumpster fire Abandoned Mill? lol

I recently started playing Horizon Zero Dawn, and…it’s ok. I have a few issues with it though that may be controversial. I enjoy the combat, the exploration, the robots are really cool, and the environment is just beautiful.

However. Certain key aspects of the tribal groups really rub me the wrong way, and makes me disinclined to finish the story. And how does a society with no mass communication, know who a single red haired woman is? I can run 100 KM to a whole 'nother village in a part of the map I haven’t explored yet, and I keep hearing people whispering there’s that motherless girl. Like how do they know? Do they have super secret robot carrier pigeons or something?

I don’t mind that Aloy’s tribe is matriarchal, that’s fine. What bugs the crap out of me is that all the men in her tribe seem to be cowards. And the men that aren’t in her tribe are evil slavers and murderers. This bugs me so much, because there are examples of real world groups that are matriarchal and the men are not in the slightest bit woobiefied. Men having/expressing their emotions does not make them cowardly or “less than”. I’m fairly certain that real actual men are complex nuanced creatures that are more than cowardly wimps or PURE RAGE. It’s just frustrating that every conversation is just Aloy practically rolling her eyes at the camera, going “dudes amiright. LOL.”

I’m just glad it was free on Playstation a few months back. If i’d paid for this I’d be even more annoyed. Can I ignore the story? Yes. Will I let this continue to bug me? Probably.

You aren’t going to finish the story because of something that doesn’t even need to be explained? I mean the Carja could have runners like back in the old days especially since they are based (partially) on the Romans who had one of the most advanced systems in the world. Aloy showed exceptional skills and was one of the few survivors of the massacre so it is newsworthy. They knew she was Motherless because the Nora probably made such a huge fuss about it, it is central to their culture, it would also be a sore point for her plus she literally has no mother which is unique.

I don’t mind that Aloy’s tribe is matriarchal, that’s fine. What bugs the crap out of me is that all the men in her tribe seem to be cowards.

First of all that isn’t true at the very least you have Varl who is a fighter and an ally in the final fight. Teb isn’t a coward, he is just a non-combatant which is fine as well. Not to mention the other stock Nora fighters you see.

And the men that aren’t in her tribe are evil slavers and murderers. This bugs me so much, because there are examples of real world groups that are matriarchal and the men are not in the slightest bit woobiefied. Men having/expressing their emotions does not make them cowardly or “less than”.

So ignoring that the Nora are the only matriarchy in the game. (The Osram are a council based hierarchy, The Banuk give power to people who claim it and both Carjas are a patriarchy) This still isn’t true especially since the normal Carja is literally run by a guy who stopped the Carja’s slave trade and pointless sacrifices, then you have Erend who is also neither a murder or a slaver, there is a whole range of side characters who aren’t murderous or slavers.

In fact the only slavers are the Shadow Carja, a splinter group who literally want to keep enslaving people and are pissed they can’t, barring one normal Carja member who was slaving illegally. On the other hand you meet a SC member who wasn’t a slaving murderer or at the very least he reformed after realising how broken the system is.

I’m fairly certain that real actual men are complex nuanced creatures that are more than cowardly wimps or PURE RAGE. It’s just frustrating that every conversation is just Aloy practically rolling her eyes at the camera, going “dudes amiright. LOL.

There are some pretty one dimensional people in the real world, sad as it may seem. Also Aloy reacts like that because she is an smart person in a world where people have regressed to a tribal level and combined with a lack of social skills, there are men that don’t draw her snarky side and those that don’t.

Like I said. Controversial. The blurred part is the part that makes me disinclined to finish the story. Not their super secret robot carrier pigeons.

I’ve finally decided to give Mafia 3 a proper shot, and I must say that I’ve been enjoying it so far. Only issue is that game seems to be very repretive, especially with taking over city districts. I hope it won’t get old before I finish the game.

Oh don’t worry it doesn’t get old it just gets prehistoric by the end of the game. Still a good game overall though.

I finished Kingdom Hearts 2. I enjoyed it, at times, really loved it. But good god, I suck at this game. I am so bad at doing stuff like reading enemy timing, knowing how to use the drives and summons correctly, etc. I dunno, I don’t get the correct way to play this kindof game. Makes me slightly worried if I’d suck as much at Final Fantasy XV and the Final Fantasy VII Remake since they use similar kindof combat systems arguably, I think, I dunno.

Need to find something else to move onto, in an awkward place where I’m hyped for several games right now that aren’t out, so need to be playing other things in the meantime. Definetly got a backlog of games that I really need to look out and just choose something and start playing.

I beat Balan Wonderworld and am now doing the post game.

Still like this game despite it being very flawed and clearly not what it was originally designed to be.
