What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

I like how you can find the sword in a trash can in China Town.

This game speaks to me.

I’m not really into platformers, but Astro’s Playroom is a lot of fun for a self-indulgent PlayStation ad. It’s short and sweet with a lot of cool easter eggs. (And hearing that old PS1 startup sound… :hugs:)

It’s kind of the perfect thing to play while you’re waiting for your games to update and download.

A post was merged into an existing topic: The Funny Pictures/ Video Thread

If we’re gonna start a meme chain, put it in the funny thread, not here

Just bought a 1-month subscription to EA Play for ~$1.50.

So, now I’ll be able to play Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order for the next 30 days. Hopefully it’s fun, stable, and I have enough time to get through most of it.

I recommend using a gamepad, the haptic feedback feels great in saber battles. Also it just controls better with a gamepad. I’m replaying the game on my 4 or 5th run.

I got it on PS4, so no need to worry about that. Gamepad is all I know.

Is it bad I’ve bought my 4th copy of Burnout Paradise? It was on sale on PSN for a fiver and I thought “screw it”, nice to have a version for my PS5. Just can jump into this game so easily. Also saw Rogue Galaxy on PSN and available on the PS Now service. Anyone ever play that game? I loved it as a teen and I swear I’ve never seen anybody else ever talk about it, partly because it never got a sequel or anything I guess. Think I’ll need to buy it at some point, it’s only £13 on PSN, but it is a very long JRPG and don’t want to jump into right now.

Been meaning to watch your videos for a while @Freezer , really good video about those 3 games. I need to tell you though, as a massive fun of Burnout, I urge you, URGE you, to play the older Burnout games. And I know there are a couple of great Burnout games available on the PSP. Burnout Legends was made by Criterion themselves and from what I hear, is basically a great rendition of Burnout 3 while also shoving in a ton of content from Burnout 2 into a portable package. (Also hilariously includes a single track from Burnout 1, which seems to exist purely to say on the boxart that Legends includes content from all 3 games.) There is also Legends for the DS, made by another dev, and is infamously terrible.

Burnout Dominator wasn’t made by Criterion, it was made by another dev while they were busy making Paradise. Dominator is still alot of fun though, and actually takes alot of elements from 2, 3, and Revenge and puts it into its own package. Amazingly, EA actually gave this game free DLC, 2 extra tracks set in Warsaw and Brazil. But these tracks never made it into the PS2 port, and nowadays it seems like the only way to play them is download the tracks onto the PSP through a fan site that hosts them, or maybe through an emulator?

Ofcourse if you stay on console, most of the console line up is worth playing. The first Burnout is very primative, has only an hour’s worth of content, and is more of a novelty than anything. Burnout 2 is good but takedowns haven’t been introduced yet, which makes it more similar to a PS2 Need for Speed title, but you can see the seeds growing. 3 is just a well designed arcade racer with takedowns introduced and being so fun to execute. And finally Revenge (which was meant to be called 4: Rush Hour before EA execs forced a name change, claiming number titles after 3 never sell), pushes up the intensity to 11. My personal favourite, Revenge is so rewarding for those who learn the track mechanics. Available on PS2 or in HD on Xbox 360, but the 360 adds alot more motion blur too, so it’s a bit of a debate which version is superior.

Sorry, just had to get it out of my system. Join the dark side Freezer. Also I subbed and will need to catch up with your videos, especially since I need to start getting more games for my Switch.

I’ll be getting to the Burnout games on PSP later.

I want to try the older games but I also want to be weird about portable games.

You can always get Burnout Legends for the DS if you want something truly weird and memorable. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah man, there’s nothing wrong with the purchase as long as you’re having fun playing the game again. Besides, you will be using a stronger hardware to have a better experience. The Remastered version also contains all DLCs, so if you’ve never driven those police cars or toy cars, or even driven on the island of map expansion, I’d say it’s worth getting the game again while it’s on sale.

Don’t forget about crash mode. It’s another great fun of Takedown and Revenge. It’s just so satisfying to throw your car into junctions, create major traffic accidents and watch the damage value rise high. Paradise does offer a similar mode, but it’s not that much satisfying with the only ability to roll your wreck slowly through traffic. I guess it’s sort of a trade-off with open-world gameplay.

I’m playing Hot Wheels Unleashed and it’s fun.

I used to play a hot wheels game in the DS, I think it was called Beat that? This new one is bringing back some memories.

Finally, finally, I beat Oggdo Bogdo in Jedi Fallen Order.

It’s… the very first mini boss on the first planet, but man it’s hard!
(It is optional, so… maybe I wasn’t supposed to do it so early. I am playing on Hard, too, so it kills me in two hits. Spent a good hour last night respawning, finally did it now!)

The trick is you can parry animal attacks. I thought it was just lazers and stormtroopers.

Fuck that frog, that bitch is hard even on normal mode.

Been replaying LA Noire, first time I’ve done it since release where I had the pleasure of switching Xbox 360 discs constantly.

Playing the Switch version now which thankfully doesn’t require constant cartridge switching but it does take up a lot of storage.

It’s a good game, better than I remember but I was also burnt by it originally because it was like my most hyped game ever back then and it didn’t live up to that potential. Now I see it for what it is and get more out of it, especially how unintentionally funny it is.

LA Noire is one of my all-time favourite games. Love it. Shame the spiritual sequel never came into fruition…

Ah yes…

I must have skipped the spiked Kool-Aid because I thought it was like watching paint dry.

Then again I don’t like mobile games

It’s crazy how fast and popular mobile games get.
