What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

That’s why many didn’t like Origins that much. It felt like a watered down City, that and that it was a bit buggy. Whenever I replay them, I start with Origins, Asylum and City. Still haven’t touched Knight even though I own it on Steam.

I’m continuing my hunt for Cirilla in Witcher 3 and wherever my side quests take me on off road adventures. I highly enjoy this game, it’s such a great RPG.

Also enjoying BF2042, I had to force myself to enjoy the game. The menu is awful, pretty. But awful design, it’s messy, confusing and hard to navigate. My biggest disappointment is the fact there are no infantry only maps, which is basically the only thing I enjoy. I hate being killed by attack helicopters, tanks and so on. I found one mode I enjoy and that’s breakthrough. There is still tanks and helicopters, but the approach is much more linear and they are easier to avoid. Still not a fan of the specialist classes, to much hero shooter over their design.
It’s a nice break from the sweaty scene of ranked in R6, here I’m able to relax a bit more and free to go without being tied to 40 + min ranked match.

I hope they add infantry only at some point, it’s always been my bread and butter in BF.

Although I don’t play BF I can relate to you wanting infantry only mode. I play COD and could do without the score streaks. They really throw a wrench in the overall survivability. They are LOADS OF FUN, but it would be nice to be able to play a game where if you die it’s bc another player who has only two legs and a handheld weapon got the better of you.

have you tried insurgency: sandstorm? it doesn’t have the production values of cod or bf, but it’s pretty good all the same. slightly more tactical approach with infantry only and a high ttk.

Whatever game I’m playing it won’t be with a controller for a while. I was playing Capcom Arcade Stadium, and it has a rewind feature… It’s activated with the right trigger. But seeing as how I hold my controller on top of my lap - the “rewind” button can inadvertently get activated by barely touching my leg. It must be set to an analog degree of activation (.0000001%) and not when the trigger is fully pulled. Anyway, that got the trigger pulled outward and broke because poor game design.

Oh well. That should at least give me some motivation to build the controller I bought parts for. And no analog option is available for what would be the R2 and L2 buttons. But I will have 2 analog sticks. A bit unfortunate, but seeing as the only game I play that relies on a light trigger pull is HITMAN 3 (for the silver ballers)… Or possibly a racing game that I haven’t touched in months - then I think I’ll be okay.

And if not, I have a number of other controllers - each with their own issue, but I guess I can deal with 'em.

No, but I’m aware of it. That said I have no plans of trying it, I’m into BF and R6, right now it’s BF turn to amaze me for a time.

The more tactical aspect, I mainly get from R6. But for now i’ll take a long break from R6 and focus on BF2042. I’m not very good at switching between multiple fps at the same time.

I DECLARE THAT I LEFT MY PAST BEST_FRIEND #SUPER_GORE_NEST MASTERLEVEL …Because it became very tedious, foggy, and those who made me get stuck in the wall during the escape sequence on Ultranightmare, I rage quit and move on from… Huuhhh…
Now World Spear Master level is my best friend…Its for information to all.

its a shame sgn master level is still quite buggy, but i guess thats expected from the crazy shenanigans that happen in it

Meh. I’ll just reassign the key for ‘Rewind’. As for that broken trigger button… I can totally fix that. Just need paper clip to replace the 2 broken pieces and some super glue, maybe a little bit of drilling and filing/sanding.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

I find myself going back to my childhood when these’s games first came out on the Nintendo DS. This is my generation, generation IV. It was inevitable that I’d purchase the two of them.

It’s a shame these games are nothing more then literally the same as an inferior version of gen 4 with an uglier coat of paint. Remember when pokemon used to have good remakes, I 'member

Finished Arkham Asylum today. Overall really fun game, though it had some weaker moments (Scarecrow´s “nightmare” was fun the first time around, but got more annoying on the two other occasions). The whole Titan plot was a bit too bonkers for my taste though and really not that all interesting.

I thought about trying to get the remaining riddles (at least those which unlock character bios), the Arkham secret scans, and the few remaining audio tapes, but I generally hate backtracking in video games, and crawling through all the places which were inaccessible before or which I´ve missed is just too much of an annoying hassle (even with a guide), so I think I´ll skip on that.

Played through the last Splinter Cell game I have in my collection - Blacklist. A great stealth game, though not a Tom Clancy game, just some Hollywood action movie in the form of a video game and the protagonist is some weirdly young guy pretending to be the same Sam Fisher we’ve known.

Anyway, the gameplay is smooth and fun. The takedowns are great and I will have to replay the game in a panther style later, now I did the whole thing non-lethally. The levels usually have several different paths you can take, but they’re missing many elements and gimmicks from the classic games, for example, keypads, pickable locks, turrets, wall mines etc. There are also no interrogations but I don’t really care about that because Sam isn’t himself here. The sonar goggles are good, but I almost never used night vision, it felt so useless and I don’t like how it takes a while until the vision becomes clear.

I played through the main campaign and also Grim’s and Kobin’s missions. I’m not going to do the co-op missions nor Charlie’s embassy fuck-ups that are meant to be shootouts. Kobin’s missions were fine and Grim’s missions were great and just challenging enough. Oh, but one time I screwed up the Estonia mission in a hilariously stupid way – I went to hack the laptop that I had already hacked before (didn’t know they only had to be done once) and got stuck behind lasers the now disappeared laptop would disable. I didn’t even have EMP:s so there was no way out, that was after completing all objectives too! Nonetheless, that mission and the seafort were fun mini-sandboxes.

I might as well rank the main missions again, just ignoring the tutorial and the Paladin mission.

1. Site F - An excellent final mission with good challenge. Really liked the many paths you could take, glad we got at least one tense laser section in the game. The heavy infantry really made my life harder, but they were expected.
2. American Consumption - The festival hall section was amusing and I was kinda hoping to have the entire mission take place in there. Not that there was anything wrong with the water treatment plant part, except that it ended way too abruptly. No need to exfiltrate, really?
3. Abandoned Mill - Have I mentioned I like rainy missions and abandoned buildings? I liked everything else except the last part, but I can overlook that because you can ghost the whole show.
4. Private Estate - An appealing setting and well designed map overall. I rarely used the drone but here I wished that forced section was longer and had more than two enemies in the way.
5. Safehouse - I couldn’t ghost 100% of this one because I had no good gear to do it with and you have to take out groups of militia soldiers. Otherwise it’s a really nice proper introduction level.
6. Special Missions HQ - Somewhat difficult yet fun mission. There was one bug though, in the parking garage the general would just freeze and somehow blow my cover after talking to a soldier, had to do a bullet distraction during their conversation to make it not happen.
7. Insurgent Stronghold - The climbing section seemed more unrealistic than any other part in the game but I don’t see any real problems in this one, it’s a very ordinary mission with some action in the end.
8. Detention Facility - I expected this one to be more interesting but was disappointed to see the entire mission was about escaping the place. It’s alright but rather uninspired, sadly.
9. LNG Terminal - Too chaotic for my taste, I expected it to be much harder too but there was not much challenge.
10. Airstrip - In some strange way I kinda liked this one and it was completely ghostable. Very simple and short though so there was not much to do.
11. Transit Yards - Didn’t like playing with Briggs and the last section was just horrible because I couldn’t figure out how to avoid combat.

Overall I enjoyed my time, though I still prefer the classic games. Now I have other games to play so I’m probably not going to get Double Agent anytime soon. I’ll save it for later even though I might enjoy it. The bad reputation of the port doesn’t make me too eager to buy it now.

I´m thinking of finally getting RDR2 as it´s now 50% off on Steam. The Ultimate Edition is 15 EUR more, but doesn´t really seem to offer anything worthy in terms of single player content (I have no interest in Online), so I feel like it (the UE) would be an absolute waste of money. Can anyone here confirm or deny my assumption?

Something I haven’t played in ten years or more and it’s surprisingly refreshing. The speeding car combat through the desert is still a fun as hell and the melee fights are copied from Batman Arkham games, which is not a negative at all. The story is just meh but the open world Wasteland is like a blast from the past.

Actually the three weapons aren’t bad at least the two I remember are good, the Volcanic Pistol is a decent weapon and the Varmint Rifle is an essential for hunting anyway. The Thoroughbred horse is also really good to start off with if you aren’t keen on chasing down or riding the Arabian. I think the Nuevo Paradiso horse gear also comes with better stats than some of the early horse gear if I recall.

The three weapons are obtainable in the game anyways though, right? I don´t really need better gear to start with than what´s available by default. Don´t mind having to wait a little before it becomes available, as I´ll have some motivation at least.

The horse (gear) sounds neat, but if it´s something I would eventually end up using for a relatively short period and substituting it with a better one fairly soon, then…

Yes they are all available and are available for free.

True you can get all the gear right off the bat but you won’t really have money until either after Chapter 2 or halfway through 2 (depending on how you do the missions) when you unlock fencing goods even then that is dependent on how much exploring or looting you do.

That being said the best horse in the game in terms of speed is free if you can find it in the wild and if you want the real best saddle you can get that for a hefty price and a perfect panther pelt after unlocking the trapper.
