Really been grinding far cry 6 lately, also R6S
Ok, so I have no idea how I came up with this number… The difference is actually 6 EUR, which isn´t nearly as bad. Still, not really sold on the UE. Wish I could just select the extra content without the free stuff
On another note, finished FEAR 3 the other day, playing as Point Man. Gotta say I feel like the game gets some pretty undeserved hate. I rather enjoyed it (certainly more than FEAR 2) and think it´s a pretty decent shooter with some satisfying gunplay and gore effects (particularly when using the G3A3 or Penetrator). Sure, the story is bonkers, it´s awkward when PM doesn´t speak, and the horror element is much less prominent, but at least that means there´s less distraction from the action. Moreover, what the game actually does better than any other in the series is environment variety, with some really neat locations.
Now I´m considering playing through the game as Fettel. Gave it a go for a brief while but haven´t quite gotten the hang of it yet. Will see how I feel about it…
I personally loved FEAR 3. I don’t care what others think of games.
FEAR 3 is great, I actually played it co-op with a friend. Decent little game. Still need to get around to FEAR 2. FEAR 1 is good but also a bit overlong. I think it has aged a little bit, it does feel like you spend a small eternity running around offices shooting bad guys.
I think I need my head examined. For some reason, I’ve been playing Returnal. It’s chaotic. It’s hard. I die. A lot. And every time Selene crawls out of the stupid wreckage of her stupid crashed ship with her stupid Level 0 basic-ass pistol, I question my sanity just a little bit more.
I absolutely love it.
It is so insanely good. It controls amazingly (especially with a bit of minor remapping), the graphics are superb, the boss fights are pure insanity and it just plain breaks your heart over and over and over…until finally everything clicks and that little punk Nemesis finally goes down after three days of trying.
Plus, you know, Jane Perry.
Debating on buying Returnal as I never play PS5. Is it any good? It is like Control?
It’s funny you bring up Control. Early on I remember thinking that Control was the perfect training for Returnal: be aggressive, use the environment to your advantage and, most importantly, never ever stop moving.
I loved Control for Series X. Very fluid.
I’m not cheap at all but why is Returnal $69.99?
Modern console games know people will buy them at any price so they just rip people off
I’ve never seen a Series X / S or PS5 game above $59.99. Just weird…
Really? Since 70$ USD is now the new normal for next-gen.
At least it will be. Thankfully some companies have held back on it a bit, but Sony is pushing it hard with their first-party titles.
Spelunky 2 is my current go-to game for short play sessions while I wait for Steam H3.
I am totally rubbish at it (got to Tide Pool for the first ever time last night, and promptly died quickly after 4-1 spawned as a Dark Level for me), but I’m still having loads of fun despite getting regularly and repeatedly pwned. Highly recommended.
That’s a great game, though I haven’t played it for a good while. Only a couple of things are needed to complete the journal and the achievements, especially one that requires good RNG is somewhat annoying. My favorite thing is that the running speed can be set as default, as I never use the walking speed. In the first game I always had to hold down the running button.
Played Taras Nabad ML on Nightmare today after randomly choosing what to play, I haven’t done it in months because of World Spear ML. I tried to grip the controller in another way where I use my left hand to hold L2, L1 and the left thumb stick at the same time and vice versa for the right to be able to use weapon mods, jump, fire and quickswitch more efficiently, it was clunky and my wrists just but I could feel a big difference.
About the three hardest parts of it:
Triple marauder hallway: I was lucky enough to beat this one and only losing 1 extra life (due to being careless in The tyrant part). The two tyrants before and the extra marauder is manageable, it’s just the double marauder + prowlers + imps that I have the most trouble with. Whenever the double marauders get stunned I get too overwhelmed by the prowlers to do any damage to then and when I’m trying to clear those prowlers the marauders get an opportunity to do damage. I remember getting gangbanged with marauders and prowlers unable to move and barely surviving with <10 health.
Speaking of marauders:
Why do the marauders run up to you, not do their axe attack, and just pull up their shotguns instead? They do it when the slayer gets too close but this time they go close to the slayer and then shoot. I hope this is just a bug and will get fixed because I prefer marauders to be consistent.
Coin room: Beat it with 1 extra life lost, much easier than I remembered. Nothing else to say.
Double arch-vile room: This is the hardest one yet, possible the hardest arena in doom eternal. I managed to beat it with no extra lives lost and no BFG, not even accidental ones. (not sure how to express excitement here but I hope this accurately represents what I feel by the end of the encounter).
I did use crucible on a tyrant, arch-vile and accidental cybermancubus here, but no more instant win gun needed anymore (unless I’m doing Ultranightmare, not taking chances there).
World Spear definitely helped me improved a lot, I hope there’s going to be more difficult master levels that makes previous master levels incredibly easy, you get to have your ego shattered and lifted at the same time. (Thanks again to Khakiasp for helping me all that time ago).
I call it the fun-zone bug
nice build.
fo:nv is one of my favourite rpgs despite the technical issues when it released. in terms of quest design and writing, it is head and shoulders above bethesda’s two.
to be fair, fo4 is the most mechanically sound of the 3d bunch… but no real dialogue choices just so they could have vo on the mc was a terrible trade.
lego dc supervillains came with ps+. playing with my daughters. our first lego game. it’s surprisingly alright! it also has john frickin’ constantine as dlc, which is a huge point in its favour.
Agree on that. I generally prefer more variety in environments (Hitman player, duh) and the monotonous setting which basically jumped between offices and some kind of industrial areas really pulled the game down for me at times. I mean it does wonders for the atmosphere, but there´s only so much you can take and it easily overstays its welcome. Especially if half the time you´re not even shooting anyone… I´d say my favourite of the bunch was actually the Extraction Point expansion. Nice environment variety, good level design, plenty of action, some great horror bits, and it utilized the awesome music much more than the base game.
I tried getting into Godfall since it was on PS+. The ‘Challenger Edition’ stunt that Sony’s pulled is stupid, the majority of the content is locked away behind a £50 price tag.
