I don’t know if you have already shared it but would you mind showing it off? I’d like to see. I’m starting to build up a little physical collection myself. I have about 8 movies so far :joy:

Sure, I’ll do that in the collection thread and I’ll tag you. That said it isn’t as big as it once was, it was considerably larger when I only owned dvd’s. I have no dvd’s left. My girlfriend have a few.

It won’t ship till June, but my birthday is in June so I’ll call it a birthday gift to myself.

Lovely colorway. Tiffany-esque.

I’m guessing the minute and hour hands spring back to the top 12 after one rotation of the semi circle?

Yes! I have wanted one like this for a long time. Sadly the only double retrograde I could find was a Stauer and it was quartz. Xeric is making this one around a Miyota automatic movement from Japan. They don’t have the history or build quality of the old Swiss houses, but Miyota makes a fine movement and the other Xeric auto I have is a wonderful watch so I’m very excited about this one.

Yeah I looked into Xeric after posting. The gold-black and silver-gold versions also look really nice.

Probably a little too unconventional for me as I prefer a traditional 3 hander, but definitely a striking looking watch and a conversation starter. You’re gonna get a lot of people coming up to you and asking about it.

A generic precision screwdriver set because fuck me, you start working on a computer only to realize halfway though that the tools you need were misplaced by your dad.

Ordered a ticket to see some of my favourite musicians at Hyde Park, including my absolute #1 artist, Cat Stevens, whom I was unsure I would actually get the chance to see live before the inevitable, so I am hyped.

Live music is the best! Festival season is almost here!! I’m sure that show will be amazing. Enjoy.

The other day I had a sense to check my email… The subconscious is awesome! I look in my Spam folder. I see an email from CastleMania Games, The Retro-Fighters D6 game pad is released. That email was sent on the 6th.

I then try to order from CastleMania games… Tried 2 credit cards and both would decline. Probably not enough of a reputable company that the charge looked sus… So I ordered directly from Retrofighters.

There was another controller I was raving about a couple years ago. It was a SEGA Saturn styled controller with 2 hall effect analog sticks made by Retro-Bit. But it would go out of sync if you held the wrong buttons together. Maybe I need to reassign the buttons in the game options to avoid that.

Anyway. The new controller should be shipped within a couple days to a week. I’ll post again after I get it to see how it handles!

Got the thing.

I’ll keep this short n simple.

I don’t like the pad.

The button travel distance seems shallow, the d-pad feels tight like it needs to be broken in. But worst of all? is that the d-pad doesn’t have a center pivot so you can mush down all directions at once.

$50 bucks down the toilet.

Either that or I’ll need to get used to using it.

Can’t you return it?

I can return it… And I might… Or I might keep it and open it up to see if anything can be modified on it.

It uses Kailh® micro switches… Similar to switches in computer mice. I think if they used a lever on the switches to make the downward press a couple more mm it might feel better.

While I love the idea of a gamepad using switches for the buttons and d-pad, they obviously botched this one. If I ever open it up, I’ll be interested in seeing how they mounted the switches. Are they soldered to a board? Or are they mounted with wires going to a central control/circuit board? When I say “mounted”… if you’ve ever seen the inside of an arcade controller you’ll know what I mean.

At any rate, I went ahead and ordered another controller suited to 2D fighting games. It uses the standard silicone contact membranes. So I hope that not even one button wears out and I have to put yet another controller in a bin.

I guess so, but ill probably mostly wear them on trips to a coastal town or a trip to the forest. Not as a casual everyday things.
