hope you can chill sooner than later, SilentWraith. this time of year can get quite hectic for people, it’s important to have those moments to decompress. crossing my fingers for you that your covid test result is negative

I’ve been here with you guys and gals for 300 days! I don’t regret the decision of signing up here at all. It’s been fantastic for me.

@SilentWraith @v1deost I hope you both get better soon!

I’m also sick 😵‍💫 I have to stay home for the whole week. Gladly the Corona test I made yesterday at my doctors office was negative, so it’s “just” a cold. But I feel very weak and sick and tired :disappointed:

I must admit: I’m very plaintive when I’m ill so I will annoy my friends with WhatsApp messages in which I will tell them in detail how sick I am for the next days

Once when i was younger, i was sick, i told my then girlfriend “i’m dying” through message, not in a literal way, she then messaged my mum who came to check on me, my bad :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hope you feel better soon!

Just now suffered a little surgery for removing a wen on the right side of a chin.
Few days of visiting a doctor and rehabilitation ahead now.
All is good but that wound hurts. Hope, will live through

Might have briefly mentioned it recently, but I’m currently in the midst of doing performances of Cymbeline, for our first 3rd year show!

It’s okay so far. Had our first performance on Saturday that went very smoothly, though yesterday not as much – didn’t really help that the audience was dead. Barely any reaction from them throughout the show…

Today we have two performances, one matinee in half an hour and one night show as usual.

I hope these random figurines backstage give me good luck? I just can’t escape this bird!

the reoccurrence of the chicken there is def a token of good luck. you shouldn’t feel bad about having to work with a dead audience either, that’s out of your hands — im sure you’ll do good today/tonight! :+1::performing_arts:

Welp, we did pretty good today!

This afternoon the audience was once again very dead unfortunately, but we did a fine performance.

Tonight’s showing though? Ohhh best audience yet. A bunch of Second Years showed up, and were laughing and gasping at so many new things. Really pumped us up for a great performance, even shaved off like 5 minutes from our record time.

Congrats to you all on the performance !

The figurines (and the second years too, I guess) were augurs of good luck after all. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah! Energy dipped down a bit near the end of our first show today, but we got really reinvigorated by our second one.

(Probably doesn’t help that we’ve been ending at 11pm for 1.5 weeks, and despite having show calls at 6pm, we have morning classes this week – despite not having them for weeks. Still surviving though!)

My brother decided he wants to learn guitar. This is fantastic as I have an affinity for discordant sounds played in the room right next door to mine.

Today, in spite of his hand-me-down guitar being out of tune (he is aware it is not tuned) he decided he would practice no less than three different ways to do the riff from “Smoke on the Water” and a rendition of “When the Levee Breaks” he said he learnt by ear, so far it sounds like five different songs and none of them were “Levee”.

just be grateful that he didn’t pick up the violin or bagpipes.

side note: one of my favourite things about working in a school music dept is walking down the practice room corridor and hearing five different kids playing five different songs on five different instruments at wildly varying skill levels. i’m not even being sarcastic.

What’s wrong with the violin?

Me personally, the piano is the best and most beautiful of all instruments. If there’s any that I want to learn, it’s that one, if for no other reason that I can learn to play all the songs in the Silent Hill games.

For sure. Still, nothing beats that piano. The opening theme is one of the exceptions where it’s not the dominant instrument, but for the theme for the true ending of the first game, and essentially all of the following games, that piano is the ticket. I have few bucket list items, but learning to play at least the first 3 games’s songs is one. And a couple themes from Inuyasha, now that I think of it.

Went to a barber for the first time in my life. Started growing a beard a few weeks ago and trimmed it myself so far. But it was getting out of hand, I needed a professional. I live in a neighborhood with people from all over the world. Went to a barber called “Jordan” (yes, they have Michael Jordan plastered all over the place and a lot of replica shirts on the walls). There was only one guy in there that spoke a little german and a little english. On the stereo in the shop there was blasting some merengue music and he was constantly singing while shaving me. Was a nice experience, will definately go there again!

In more than 40 years of living, you had never, NEVER, went to a barber? :flushed:

Never. Always shaved myself. Only went to hairdressers when I was younger. But I shave my head since I’m about 25 years old. So for the last 17 years.
