You all can call it good, bad or be neutral and don’t have an opinion about it, but my lil brother was vegan for 4 years, from age 13 to 17, and he stopped being vegan a couple of days ago, I can’t see it as a good or bad thing (since I’m a meat lover myself) but it was surprising and I find it hilarious, 4 years of dedication thrown into the garbage.
But hey at least he’ll eat meat at the bbq again, so that a w.

4 years he spent without meat to protest against the food industry and one he went “nah idc anymore” and quit, it’s quite thrown away.

Are we really going to start a discussion over it? It’s just a matter of opinion, and I think dedicating your life completely to a cause and at a certain point removing yourself entirely from the cause is kinda throwing your time away, he might’ve affected the meat industry, but it’s kinda like pause//unpause for a game, he also really gave the feeling of throwing it away, he didn’t stopped because he gave up on the cause, he didn’t cared about it for quite some time, so he just changed a part of his lifestyle.
- Fuck, I meant Vegetarian, not Vegan, bro, english sucks.
- I am not shaming him, as I said I am neutral about his decision, I’m supporting every (sensible) decision he makes, he is my brother and I just found it to be “weird” and “surprising” that he just dropped it out of nowhere and I wanted to share that feeling here.
- Even tho he was vegetarian that was still about 10% of all he thought about, 90% of his mind is Discord.
Funny enough he didn’t woke up yesterday to school and my mom called me and asked me to call him “through that discord thing” hoping that would wake him up… it didn’t

I agree, it might not even be about the environmental effect. One of my close relatives stopped eating meat when they were 4, after seeing a sheep being beheaded for family kebab. They’ve been keeping on to it for the last 32 years. There were many scenarios where not eating meat raised blame and disagreements and it was a hard task to fight with the old culture family.
As a personal opinion, although I respect those banning meat for environmental reasons, I doubt it’ll succeed in full. Best that could happen is the meat industry optimizing their methods, not abolishing.
