I wanted to up my Hitman video quality. So last night I downloaded a video editor and this morning I’ve been playing about trying new stuff out

It feels good to learn a new tool/skill. That part where everything’s new and you’re delighted by ever small victory

This is what I have so far, not super long but there’s a fair bit going on under the hood and I’m very proud of it

I present you,3D Ursam Bearmon!!! Made by Agumonger (https://twitter.com/JojogapeArts) using the base model from Digimon ReArise (That’s why it wasn’t too expensive. xD)

Also got in contact with a sculptor and they can get this 3D printed and painted! Hopefully by mid-April I place the orders. Gonna be so awesome. :blue_heart: :bear:

Happy new year everyone!
New year? What are you talking about, Hichkas? Well, today was Nowruz; The new year begins today in the Persian Solar calendar, in the first day of spring (technically this year was 366 one so tommorow is the actuall day)

It comes from over 3,000 years ago, and like Chaharshanbe Soori it’s originated from Zoroastrianism. There are some stuff in the picture, no one knows why should they be in there  but they still are and are called ā€œHaft Sinā€. Haft is Seven and Sin is the name of the letter with s sound in Farsi. So we put seven items starting with sin on the table with eight choices; garlic, apple, a kind of flower idk the name in English, coin, 3 other items idk the name in English, home grew plate of grass. Some other optional items might be included such as eggs, goldfish, mirror, fruits and quran for muslims. Ancients used to consider these I said as holy symbols.

Once again, Happy Nowrooz everyone! Hope you’re all okay.

Edit: Forgot to mention @Mohamad_Baloch, the other user from Iran I know. Wish you’re having a good time, Mohammad!

Happy Nowrooz, Hichkas! The family of the kid I work with is from Iran and they celebrated, too. Yesterday I was at work and we talked about it. They said that they normally celebrate with their whole family, but due to Corona it’s not possible. However, they made a little celebration with just their parents, because they all got vaccinated already. I hope you all had a good day :relaxed:

Oh and last year they had two goldfish and after the celebrations were over they gave them to me because my parents have a pond and they said they are maybe more happy there than in a glass haha It also has something to do with their new year celebration, but I can’t remember what it was.

Thanks for sharing this tradition and I wish you and your family all the happiness in the new year.

Iranians here, there, everywhere

Not just that, there is a tradition (on hold for the past two years due to covid) which relatives go to each others’ houses to ā€œmeet and share greetingsā€. That one is a good one as older people usually give something as a gift to youngers, 99% of the time cash.

One might keep the grass and fish(s), but the grass usually ā€œreturns to natureā€, (leaved in a park, jungle area) and so does the fish. I remember taking my fish to the graveyard of the city each year as it had a huge pond.

Do the older people tell the really small children the gifts are from this Amu Nowruz person I have read about, or is he just in the stories?

We lie to our small children about Santa Clause until they are around 5 or 7 years old which is probably horrible, but also not something anyone is gonna stop doing anytime soon.

I’m not cool enough to understand what the reviewer said, but if you love it then I’m happy for you!!! CheersšŸ»

Edit* and is there a way we can buy a copy of the EP yet?

I’m gonna pick up a copy, but maybe I need the cassette tape just bc that’s amazing. I’ll have to see if shipping to the US is 18x the price of the cassette or not :joy:

It’s not my kind of music that’s for sure, but I listen whenever you post a song. When I was small I thought it would be cool to be a painter and then real life happened and I didn’t have the stones to chase the dream, so I think it’s fucking awesome that you’re still doing it!

Who wants to play stadiums and close the festivals anyway? I’m sure it’s fun for 15 minutes and then you blink and you’re fighting with the lead singer about money thinking oh my god we used to be friends, the label is breathing down your back to make some lame shit bc ā€œit’ll sell better,ā€ someone in the band has a drug addiction that you know is gonna kill them, and you can’t go see a football match without an unflattering photo of you ending up in the tabloids… nope!! Basement shows and day jobs sounds good to me :joy:

Seriously though, that’s really cool you get to play music for people and they give you money for it. Rock on :metal:

No, what they give is just an amount of cash called ā€œEydiā€. Amu Nowruz (Uncle Nowruz) is an imaginary charchter in folklore stories, in a way the symbol of Nowruz, but not the way Santa is.

The story behind him as I heard is that: Nane Sarma (Mother Cold, folklore symbol of winter) Always waits for Uncle Nowrooz to come, Cleans everywhere and prepares everything for him, but gets tired and falls sleep by the time he comes till next winter.
She falling sleep refers to the end of winter and the temp getting warmer.

As expected work is steadily returning in my life. Beginning Tuesday my work schedule should start being more consistent. I have to go in at 4PM for a few hours. I don’t particularly mind going in during the evenings since there are times where I would work between 4PM-1AM.

A lot has been going on in the park as of the past week, this is between the COVID Vaccination Site that is open once every week and of course the stuff happening internally.

All this on top of the numerous training sessions I have to help out with for our new and returning associates I’ll be getting rather busy which is good.

Went plumbing with a friend a few hours ago, in such an old house. It was great in a way as I got to know a lot of new tools, But there was an embarrassing part: I was drilling the wall without realizing that a water pipe is in it, a few centimeters deep, And then there was just water, water, and water flushing out and me getting wet. Now the owner has to call for someone else to break the wall in the pipe area, so my friend can change it. Fucking internal pipes. Wasn’t my fault to be honest, No one knew there’s also a pipe there.

Been there. I was adding wainscot Moulding a few years back and shot a finish Nail through my copper pipe. Had to run to shut the water cut the wall then solder a new pipe in a small space. Almost burned the house down. Easy Moulding project took an extra 2 days.
