Why would you kill Vanya and Kale in Freelancer with a train?
I never saw them being targets (even one of them) in Freelancer.
Maybe I wasn’t so lucky though
Because some players (get this!) actually choose to kill other NPCs than just the targets, like this is GTA or something. … I don’t get it either.
True, but man, to arrange this you need to spend quite some time and in Freelancer it’s just wasting time.
So this patch note was about this specific exit, not about regular passing train exit?
Ok then
It’s sounds a lot like the Landslide exit bug in my mod; which if it is means only some players will experience it
You are right, the act of derailing the train in freelancer mode is laborious and honestly futile.
I unexpectedly wanted to try to see if this escape was possible and noticed a bug after examining this totally futile act for a normal player.
The last time this happened, right before I posted, I was trying to subdue my target from behind when he suddenly somewhat turned enough to make me punch him. He was a civilian and went down instantly, we were not spotted. I broke his neck as soon as I could, but the “Silent Assassin no Firearms” challenge had already been crossed out.
Huh. Maybe if a target just becomes “suspicious” of you, it counts against you, but if a Guard target spots you trespassing and has to escort you, it doesn’t.
At least it wasn’t fully in vain for you
I sometimes too do things that normal player would never even think of doing
Cause it’s fun. That’s enough of a reason.
Glad the train exit is still available (and not buggy).
Such a cool way to exit the Mumbai level
You know what else is fun? Playing the game exactly the way 47 would do it. Perfectly.
You should really get an autism diagnosis of some sort, this isnt meant as an insult. I genuinly think he would benefit from doing that
Already self-diagnosed. Autistic, obsessive compulsive, not quite Asperger’s and borderline sociopathic, plus an INTG on the Myers-Briggs chart. Why?
If you pass a “Security Checkpoint” with the guards who say funny lines about you not entering, if you immediately run back into public as they get angry with you, you usually don’t lose Silent Assassin. This is different from being Caught Trespassing which will ruin Silent Assassin. (Video Example: Hitman: WoA | Security Checkpoint vs Caught Trespassing - YouTube)
However, way back in Hitman 2016, if the Target witnessed you Trespassing, Performing an Illegal Action, or saw an unconscious body, SA would be ruined (even if they were immediately killed before alerting a guard).
This was changed and the Hitman Fandom Wiki reflects this as well:
In Standard Freelancer, I have tested this with the normal Silent Assassin objective and it worked fine. However, like FSMcas above, the Silent Assassin – No Firearms challenge failed when my target spotted me.
Best I can tell, the Silent Assassin – No Firearms challenge operates differently in its logic when checking for checking Silent Assassin.
Been off Xbox for a few days due to work, so I’ve just tested this tonight and yes all the vehicle exits are still randomised if you exit through the basement with the passport, but there’s no duplicate vehicles anymore, which includes the speedboats
The patch notes just mention the Helicopter issue has been fixed, but it looks like it’s for the speedboats as well
Thanks for this IOI
I’m not asking as some sort of gotcha, because I know you already have an explanation, but I’m genuinely interested in how you reconcile this statement:
There is no deeper than that. That is, or at least was, the beauty of 47’s character; that he was a shallow blank slate for the player to fill in if they wanted to see something more in him, but without there actually being more for those who enjoyed having an emotionless, inhuman blank slate just killing with merciless professionalism.
with this one:
Playing the game exactly the way 47 would do it. Perfectly.
If he’s a blank slate that the player can attach any agency they want to, who is to say that the way that any given player plays him is wrong?
And I know that you attach “professionalism” to “perfection” and that’s likely the way you can make those two things sync up, but what if I don’t see professional and perfect as being synonyms?
I reconcile them because the statement was about 47’s character, not his actions. His actions are definitive and canonically beyond reproach - professional and perfect. How anyone sees what’s going on in 47’s head, how he feels or what he thinks about what he does, and what he does in his time off, that’s the part that’s open to interpretation. If you’re not seeing perfection and professionalism as the same, then you’re not seeing what 47 has actually done. The only way one can rationally reconcile playing the game in a way 47 wouldn’t do it is if you’ve decided for yourself that you’re not actually playing as 47 m, the character we know. And I’ll submit there’s nothing wrong with that, really.
Deleted for being off-topic, on second thought.
I was still unable to touch the fuse for days after this patch. I just happen to luck out and get a interaction box for it and now its in the fuse box but I am afraid to use it incase it goes back to unobtainable. Also I ran into a glitch with the Water Canister when trying to retrieve my Water Canister after the kill. I electrocuted a target with a over flowing sink/Water Canister puddle just in case the sink water was not hitting the target. The sink overflow water stopped being electrified when the target was killed but not the Water Canister water. I found that out too late but Lucky for me I was able to close out before I lost Gear/Merces.
A caged door should be added in the vault and automatically close instantly to trap 47 inside when the lasers are set off so that 47 cannot just set the lasers off and run before the guards come. Depending how they’re unlocked can also be incentive to not just eliminate all the guards before setting off the lasers to avoid combat.
