Overall I’d say my impressions of the patch are pretty positive. It even got me to play Freelancer again, at least for a bit more.
The load times seem to be about as long, but the framerate in the levels themselves is a lot smoother for me than it was pre-patch.
I love the throwing items at cameras mechanic. It’s coming in really handy now that I’ve prestiged and don’t have a silenced gun yet.
New York feels weird without the extra NPCs, but it’s a lot more manageable without them. I don’t get why they made it harder to get in the vault when they also removed some of the Merces reward. You might as well just get the Merces from the deposit boxes and forget the vault.
The Black Bruiser Suit is decent, even though it’s just a reskin of 47’s Signature Suit. I never really expected to see 47 with a black eye.
I like that they added some more sound effects on the end-mission screen.
The biggest negative I have with the patch is the Zen garden in Hokkaido still doesn’t display properly. Also, prestiging didn’t seem to boost XP collection at all.
I KNEW I should’ve saved and posted a screenshot. Old lettering said;
Or something like that. The main issue was the spelling of the word “requires”.
I will note a change in Whittleton Creek… Before you could set the rake down in the path of the guard that confiscates the remote bomb. Once he’d get KO’d the bomb would teleport to the weapon drop off box.
Now when he’s KO’d the bomb is actually dropped by the guard where he falls.
Prestige objectives that cannot be unlocked before exiting in hardcore remain unbeatable and by extension neither does “perfect run” depending on optional objectives. On that not don’t get spotted by camera no longer can be beaten mid-mission so don’t use “perfect run” on Hardcore if the camera is an optional objective.
Ok, love that I can now pick up the car battery in the garage. I don’t think they mentioned fixing that, but it’s happened. And I like the addition of the fuse box to put the power fuse in, it looks cool. Of course, I still cant pick up the power fuse in order to put it in the box!
The patch notes mention stability fixes but Landslide still crashes on ps4. Started a run, sat on the bench near the church and got the usual crash after a few minutes.
Same. And the new Prestige challenges are terrible. Just more grinding. They’re on par with Top Dog & Employee Of The Year. Fuck all those “challenges”.
A cool change I just noticed is the game remembers that the wine rack is down and you don’t need to open it every time you go up the stairs to the kitchen
Alt F4 fix is a bad move, game is way too punishing with glitches and bugged npc behaviour. Could have left this in and no one would have cared, it is a singleplayer with no leaderboard.
