Year 3 - May Patch Notes

Totally same here

Even simpler, I hit the flight mode key, go back to the menu, turn off flight mode. Done. Had started doing this long back instead of Alt+F4.

Blame the people that moaned about “Employee of the Year” and “Top Dog” being a long pointless grind. The Prestige stuff was to give you something “fun” to do while you grind for the original challenges.

That said, it’s not too bad. Already about halfway towards completing Level 2 - and the later levels are just going to get easier as time goes on. Don’t see myself (or a lot of people for that matter) going beyond the 10 levels though.

Halfway completing level 2 already? You’re incredibly efficient, I’m just about half through level 1 only!

I already had everything so I had a head start.

Anyone tried the “Perfect Run” PO yet? I saw talk that it will fail if one of the objectives is only ticked off upon completion of a mission and not before. Like a “No Firearms” objective or similar. I’m doing a hardcore run atm, and wanna know if I should avoid it

I’ve done it a few times. No such bug exists - at least on PS5 anyway.

You guys are Prestiging already? I’ve been failing missions and losing precious, expensive weapons!! Hahahaha

I’ve tried it when there’s objectives that can all be completed within a mission, and it auto-ticks when all those are fulfilled. Not gotten it for a mission with an end-state-dependancy yet, will update when I find out…

If you ever had those campaing failing bugs when exiting a mission then you should avoid it.

Did it on PS5 with one “ticked off upon completion” objective, completed the PO without any issues.

I’m hoping the rest of the game updates we are getting this year evolve around Freelancer as well. IOI have gone a great job adding new things and patching it up.

Here’s hoping the upcoming challenges are more cool Freelancer unlocks, like the Black Bruiser suit! We might even get new stuff added to the Safehouse!

Need a new disguise related to the Advanced Prestige, maybe a new Ninja type disguise with the same dialogue triggers as the Ninja outfit from Hokkaido and the White Shadow.

Totally agree with you. It’s a single player and we have to put up with all the bugs they didn’t fix and just accept it. And for those who say it’s just about skill, I don’t want to spend three hours studying every little lookout path so I don’t accidentally leave a body somewhere that they happen to find twenty minutes later when I’m running Hardcore with 10-15 targets. It took about 15 min of coming down from the roof in Berlin before I cleared all the lookouts around that area to even get close to the first suspect. It took over two hours before I could make out who was the target. Will never play hardcore again, takes too much time and gives too little fun for the effort.
It just feels like the developers want to ruin the game instead of QoL. Instead of concentrating on regular players and making it fun for us, it’s more important to fix muffin tricks for a few speedrunners. Feels like the game is starting to reach the end of life for me when they remove things that can make things easier for us.
Instead of removing, perhaps they would instead make things as options in Settings where the player himself can set certain choices according to his way of playing.

I so wish it didn’t end.

There are other workarounds to “Alt+F4” which still work, namely Task Manager and disconnecting from the internet.

The fuse was never pickable for me. Still can’t pick it up :expressionless:

Was able to do it once. Made one bomb. Haven’t been able to since.

If you’re going to take away Alt+F4, then can we have the ability to restart a freelancer mission so long as we’re not playing hardcore mode?

If we were given the ability to restart Freelancer missions, there would be no reason to take away Alt+F4. Also, you can pause and kill the game from task manager if you’re dedicated to the cheese.

No! Don’t bother with task manager. Just disconnect your wifi.

Or, do whatever you want… Just saying. Seems like the disconnect would be easier AND you don’t have to restart the game.

Unless you need to be connected for whatever reason and can’t spare a few seconds. Then Task Manager away.
