I want to make supplement : H2016 pro difficulty.
How do you think about some hardcore mechanics in H2016 pro difficulty ? If these mechanics come to master difficulty, that’s exciting.
By the way, there are still two uncut challenges from these packs presented in WoA that must be done in contracts mode: five targets (different accidents wearing fortune teller disguise) in Marrakesh and four targets (cleaver wearing hotel staff disguise) in Bangkok. Bell and well in Sapienza actually may be done in the main mission or escalations where it is much more easier to do. Poisoning school director’s shisha pipe in Marrakesh could be done in escalation, mission will be failed, but challenge would be completed. If I forgot some tough and not so obvious challenges, they have a solution, but these two haven’t.
Really wish we would bring back ALL of Season 1 ET’s instead of having just rotation of the same ones over and over. Also, I wish some of them were adjusted into being easier to complete with more opportunities to eliminate target without just throwing durian at their legs.
The sticky hatchet one? Good times
The only real mechanics that weren’t properly brought over from the Professional Mode in HITMAN 2016 were the suspicious items mechanic if you were not wearing a proper disguise (a knife being illegal for anybody but kitchen staff/wrench being suspicious for non-mechanics and the very sensitive footsteps trick.
They did bring the active CCTV mechanic over to Master Mode and I believe in a HITMAN 2 patch/HITMAN 3 patch, they did try and remove several things from those maps to make it more difficult on Master.
If only guards suspect 47 disguised as a guard with wrong weapons, but normal tools just like screwdriver would not be suspicious to anybody, the mechanic will be perfect .Civilian should not know which weapons guards would take.
Footsteps in H2016 are a little like Absolution .
Another mechanic I want to see is blood pool reaction which is not inherited from blood money and absolution.
I may be imagining this, but I could have sworn that Hitman 2016 had guards get alerted by pools of blood when you played Pro difficulty. I believe the files for the blood even use the word “evidence” in their name.
With that said, under the constraints of the current game mechanics, there’s not all that much for a guard to do if one is found. They can go into search mode for a bit or IOI could be really harsh and cause blood pools to fail SA, but that just forces you to kill people in very specific ways. So all in all, it’s a bit of a pointless mechanic beyond potentially causing you some inconvenience.
I can think of a few ways they could be extended to afford more realism and I’ll list my ideas here, but unfortunately, I have to say that I don’t personally feel any of these, in isolation, make the game more fun and would, again, incentivise you to kill people in specific, non-bloody ways.
- Blood pools get on 47’s shoes causing him to leave a trail of footprints that guards will follow - up to and including looking inside a hiding spot if you’re in there.
- As an extension of 1. All guards are notified and randomly inspect shoes. If you’re wearing the same disguise and are found to have bloodied soles, guards will attempt to arrest you.
- Dragging the corpse smears blood as you move it and a guard will look inside a body dump if a trail leads them there.
- Corpses continue to bleed for a while and if placed in a body dump like a closet, blood will leak out which can cause a guard to discover it.
Now, If you pair this difficulty tweak with contract conditions/freelancer objectives where you have to deal with bleeding corpses, they’d be good - providing the player is receiving commensurate bonuses for taking on the additional difficulty.
As it stands, I’m of the opinion that playing Freelancer on Hardcore should give you a Merces payout multiplier across the board.
There is another mechanic specific to H2016 Pro Mode that didn’t make the cut in H2/3.
In H2016 Pro, when a camera is destroyed, a guard goes by the destroyed camera and makes a small investigation (looking around) before going back to his routine. In H2/3, no guards are coming when a camera is destroyed.
Ooh, I forgot about that one, thank you!
So, as this is the last day of the Season of the Splitter roadmap, when do we expect the info to drop on the next roadmap?
Also, a separate theory I was thinking about yesterday, thinking of the ultimate end game for new content, I wonder if IOI will wrap content on the WOA Trilogy in January next year? This will be the 10-Year Anniversary of Hitman (2016), which was the start of this epic ride we’ve been on. IOI could cover a full roadmap in Jan 2026 dedicated to this Anniversary and bow out on a massive high note!
Just a theory I was thinking about.
I still think, it depends on Project 007 and when the first game will be released. We haven’t heard anything about it yet and Hitman is the only game, that generates money for IO right now. Since the release of 007 may be years away, I don’t see a reason to stop the content for WoA. At least something like the yearly ET-Routine and maybe a new item (reskin) here and there. Shouldn’t be too much work and keeps the game alive, until something new comes out.
I had this thought that the “lack” of content so to speak since Freelancers release, is because of 2 things.
The first being Project 007 obviously (I look forward to this game so much!!)
The second being that they are working on something big for this year (25th anniversary and the 10 year anniversary next year)
So we get small batches of content and the ET’s to saturate our hunger, while in the meantime they’re working on a new map or new mechanics which takes a lot of time when the workforce has been moved to 007.
I could be wrong and most likely is, but it would explain the decline in new content in the past few years leading to the anniversaries.
New maps?New mechanics? How exciting!
Oh, finally I guess!
I expect to maybe see a new Roadmap between Tuesday-Thursday this week. That’s usually when console updates pop up and they’ve dropped roadmaps on those days in the past.
Hoping for something unexpected and interesting as the start of (potentially) a new Year of Content for Hitman!
I expect it to mark the release anniversary, the 20th.
So maybe next week, to have the first content live concurrent with it.
We know that the Roadmap was made shorter on purpose.
I think IOI really wants to have a break between Year 4 and Year 5.
Maybe for marketing, maybe because production is catching up and would welcome the separation with Year 4, maybe because they want Year 5 to be an Event by itself and demands its own purposeful timeline.
Or maybe they have an event for January/February that is interesting enough to be an headline, unscheduled enough to not be on the original seasons plan and their own designated headlines. So a new one is created artificially for it.
(and if its a certain recast, it could add to the hypothetical break/production relaunch/recentering between Year 4 and Year 5.)
New Year 5 roadmap drop!!
This thread passed us some time I guess, see you over there in the new thread!
Except for the stalker one in Colorado. Even though we’re packed with emetic things now, it’d still be tedious as hell.
The emetics make it more tolerable tbh.
If you emetic him, the stalker following you overrides his desire to go vomit. But the emetic-ness removes his enforcer status.
Does it work like that for the TS6 target in Colorado? Having his guards just following you without being enforcers would be so silly.
Been ages since I last tried it, so unless its been changed - yes.
