As IOI has announced that we are getting another roadmap once the Splitter roadmap concludes, this pretty much confirms we are getting a Year 5!! (thanks IOI)
Although we may be a little early, there is nothing quite like a bit of good speculation and theories for the forthcoming year! Now we’ve got the Xmas decorations for Freelancer, I’m hoping we get the Easter and Halloween ones over the coming year!
Discuss below potential ideas on what you’d like to see, or what you might show up over the course of Year 5.

Except that Combatglue liked discussing with the curators of the Featured Contract Batches, and will continue to do so next year.
All I could wish for is a new map or a few bonus missions (like Landslide and such). But all we’ll likely get is the usual Elusive Target rerun carrousel, a few new challenge unlocks and featured contracts.
Every other HITMAN title in its “final” live-service year only really had Featured Contracts and Rerun ET’s.
BUT, if there is indeed some decent sized team still working on HITMAN content, then we should also expect new challenges and unlocks. Again, minimum already added items in the main game we don’t have Inventory access to.
Barring that limit, maybe another CelebrET? They’ve been very successful so far it seems. But the McGregor deal fallout might put a damper on that…
And in terms of what I think is very unlikely but I’d really want, is some Freelancer additions. At least alternate map times of day or alt mission variants. I’m super jealous of PC, you see
Or, maybe some new Syndicate or two! New batch of complications and kill conditions would be nice.
Offline Mode, IDK what to think. What IOI would keep offline. Whether they’d do it.
At least Rocksteady/WB set a precedence now for Always Online games, promising an Offline Mode pre-release and finally delivering on that it seems.
Mostly expecting the same as usual:
Featured contracts and ET reruns I’m not gonna bother with.
Some new challenges that unlock either something niche or very inconsequential (please let it be antique sedative syringe), gimmick outfit from a mission as suit, or red easter egg levels of game design nuke.
A celebrET or a few of them.
I want to be optimistic about the new game mode rumours, but the possibility of it being just PSVR2 upgrade are too real for me to have any hype at the moment.
One thing I do hope for is that the Splitter is an indication of ETs to come. ETs with higher ambitions that mix up level layout and objectives structure.
I had a very vivid dream the night before last that I was the character wandering, exploring, and unlocking a big intricate winter science facility map… so I’m going to go with “big intricate winter science facility map” for Y5 speculation.
As unrealistic as some of these are, I completely agree… except with the joke about Twitch Subscriptions (but I still found it funny regardless). Although the C47 Remaster would probably be its own separate game if they would do it though.
I would even be content if the “winter map” we got was a snow based Bonus Mission on Berlin.
Let me add a Sniper Assassin map set in Khandanyang, a Sniper Assassin mode balancing/mode rework, and Miami Valentine’s Day Bonus Mission/Escalation (like Dartmoor Garden Show) to the “unrealistic expectations” pile, and a new Elusive Target on Ambrose Island as a more realistic expectation.
Other than that, I just want new Suits, and some new items/reskins in general.
I’m hoping in the Summer we finally get the Water Canister and Haven Island Swimwear suit as unlockables… and the Black Ninja suit from Hokkaido at some point during the year (maybe for Halloween or Day of the Ninja on December 5).
I also forgot, I’d like Valentine’s Day Safehouse Decorations, but I realize that out of all international Holidays, that might be the least likely, especially since its so close to coming.
I’d be happy if we just got some rose bouquets, heart balloons, a Valentine’s reskin of the Hot Tub, and a few other pink/red/white furniture here and there for Valentine’s Day. IOI don’t have to go too far out, especially since it’s coming up relatively soon.
A 4th Twitch Drop for a purple garrote would be cool too. Some people said purple headphones in other threads I’ve mentioned it, but I’d prefer an actual Fiber Wire, especially since the Fiber Wire is so iconic.
Other than that, I completely agree with everything you mentioned.
