AMBROSE ISLAND, Andaman Sea (Mission #7) - Location Discussion

Perhaps it’s part of their uniform to denote that they’re Akka’s crew. It would probably be more obvious if there were a few rogue Pirates without the yellow headwear.

@47Agent to show their support for bananas since i can imagine it with Ambrose having durians and coconuts.

Did somebody heard Crest talking about Grey and when it is triggered? I followed him so much now but he didn’t said anything about Grey.

Someone, a few days ago, said they triggered the tanker captain’s execution. Any update on this?

really? that actually sounds pretty cool level of detail.

I’d say it’s either their “team color,” so to speak, or that’s the cheapest color of cloth they’re able to get in the island, or yellow colored clothing is the most commonly carried cloth in the strait where they’re pirating ships, and they just use them when they’ve got surplus. I’m guessing some sort of combo of these reasons… outside of the obvious “it’s what IOI decided on” explanation.

Mini ninjas sushi is in a few maps too. I love the world they built.

I think IO was originally going to go with a different kind of theme for the main hub (like an illegal black market / pirate port kind of feel). Which would make sense since it’s called the “guerrilla wetsuit”.

But instead they probably changed it at the last minute to have more of a Santa Fortuna fishing village vibe to fit better with the assets and time they had.

on the negative side of the color symbolism spectrum, yellow may mean hazard or danger so it makes sense that they would use that as their team color. that, and it’s easier to see in the dark?

I haven’t either, but I did see Orson talking about Alma briefly. It was a fun moment.

I tried everything I came up with but never heard it. Did all of his “mission stories”, killed Akka before triggering the meeting, freed Smith if it was the flare gun that would make him say it, etc. If he really says it and it was just found randomly, it can’t be anything too complicated.

One week later my opinion has changed a bit. Ambrose island is a great map. I especially love the secluded bay areas around the edges of the map and all the pirate related stuff. Finding all the treasures as the buccaneer is a mission on its own. Love that!

Shadows in the water is a pretty average mission itself which is cool. Crest is a very nice target. No grandeur or world famous/feared dude but instead another one of Grey’s goons who happens to be important due to circumstances. Sinhi is less great imo since her route is mostly based in hostile areas of the map, but the kill methods compensate for that. Also the Ether drive thing is done well since it doesn’t force me to constantly go down the rabbithole. IO has learned from past mistakes :+1:

What I pity about Ambrose is that it got included way too late in the WOA trilogy to properly shine like it deserves. Would this be released in 2016 instead of Colorado people would’ve lost their minds. Instead, it got behind in line after 3 similar levels (Colombia, Mumbai, Haven) which take away AI’s uniqueness. Like said before, its a mixture of “old stuff” and thus not special anymore.

If I had the ability to reverse time I wouldve thrown out Colorado in 2016 and replace it with Ambrose. At least then it would shine like it deserves, and not get shit for what it is.

What are the exact requirements for fulfilling the A Pirate’s Life For Me challenge?

I think you just need to kill both targets with Jarl’s Saber while wearing the Buccaneer suit. That’s it.

I’m probably late here but they put in the usual SA/SO and similar challenges!!! Yes!

I’m stuck with just 1 left. How do you get the one where crest ignites a smoke and that triggers the accident?

Win the Slapping Contest and see where that leads you… :+1:

Yeah, I actually was forced to do a suit only attempt at this level… just the one though.

So you got SA/SO in one run then? Nice.

@scat1620 i did that like my first playthrough. Ugh…I must have missed something. Thanks.

Despite my continued and vocal disdain for suit-only playthroughs of the various levels, i certainly can manage it, I just prefer not to.

Finally did the Hippie meeting with Akka, can’t believe that intel item passed me by so many times.

I wonder if the Audio distraction items might finally have some use here.

Akka is accompanied by 2 guards at the meeting, right? Since the audio device has a tiny radius, I wonder if you’d be able to distract them on one side of the room while Akka’s speech doesn’t get interrupted, giving you a sneaky kill?

Tried to distract them myself with normal items but Akka always either stops because I left or she gets distracted too
