AMBROSE ISLAND, Andaman Sea (Mission #7) - Location Discussion

I found that if you wait for her to be as far away as possible before going up to the bridge guards, the one who runs off to tell her that you’re there is gone just long enough to coin lure the leaning guard into the bushes and knock him out. Then knock out the one one who goes back and forth and stick him in the box. And if going the blow her up route, loosen the top of the gas canister. Then the patrolling guard’s dropped gun makes her tell her guard to get rid of it and you’ve got her alone. Then either punt her off the edge when her back is turned or wait for her to light up and go boom. It’s tight, but doable.

Alright, I’ve got 20 level mastery and have unlocked all challenges except … I Thought About It and Jump Start. I’ve learned all I need to be able to properly and perfectly complete those last two, and pretty much any playthrough, in accordance with the Heisenberg Parameters of Perfection, except for one detail that I would like to make even simpler if it’s an option.

Can anyone tell me, other than the one down in the cave ruins where the satellite control is, and the one embedded in a tree near the hippie and the student, if there are any other folding knives on the island, and where to find them if there are? The only reason I’m asking is because I want to get full completion tomorrow night and don’t have the patience to search everywhere I haven’t looked yet.

No folding knives other than those two. Does a barber razor work? It folds. There’s one in the village to the right/rear if you’re standing at the slap fight table, facing the Farah’s sign.

It’ll work if it can cut the wire on the satellite control for the overload.

Isn’t there a razor in one of the villager’s huts too?

Pretty sure that’s what I said… though I didn’t say “IN” the hut… which it is.

Now that I’m thinking of it, the reason I need a folding knife is to cut the wire, and I avoid using kitchen knives whenever possible. But, I dislike the idea of using the two folding knives for it since they are embedded in something, placed there recently by someone on the map, so I can’t place them back the same way I got them to maintain the illusion of nothing being disturbed beyond that which kills the targets. I haven’t been able to see myself bringing along my own knife because to adhere to the HPP, I need to have the Sieker-1 in a hidden stash and have my free inventory slot used for a lockpick, since I avoid using keys found on the map. However, this map comes with its own lockpick, doesn’t it: the skeleton key lockpick found on the beach. It counts as a lockpick found on the map, does not belong to anyone, and I can even put it back where I got it from when I’m done, so no one would ever know it had been used. With that in mind, rather than bringing my own lockpicks, I can bring along my concealed knife and ignore the folding knives completely. Guess I won’t need them after all. Thanks though, guys, for the input; that helps decide things, knowing where the limits are.

AH, yes yes yes. I can’t be keepin’ track of all these folding knives and razors and what!

How do you put the bone lockpick back?

Do you put jumpin’ frogs and poisonous flowers back? Can you pick those up while HPPing? Because if you can, then you can get a cell key from the biology student.

Fortunately, Hitmaps now has Ambrose Island populated. It’s a good resource for that sort of stuff.

Also, yeah, how do you put the lockpick back? Isn’t it sticking out of that guy’s hand on the beach?

On the beach? I didn’t know there were two.
I only know of the one in the cell in front of Lance Hsu

There’s a skeleton on a beach that has a bone lockpick you can grab. It’s the beach down from where the hippie and student are, I think.

No, when I get anything poisonous beyond a jar of pills, it’s to use, and since they’re one use, I can’t put them back. However, nobody is keeping track of frogs and flowers, so the illusion is maintained. I do give them to the student for his items and key, if I’m doing a playthrough that doesn’t involve accidents, in which case the limitations on items are more lax in my parameters.

Just equip it and drop it. Unlike the knives, which are stuck in a tree to hold a note, and the wall of a container respectively, if I’m remembering correctly, the bone lockpick is just stuck in the sand vertically, but it’s not in an area where anyone might be watching over it or even put it there like that, so the illusion is not broken just dropping it back in its spot, where even if someone had set it there and came back for it later, they’d just think a wave washed up and knocked it over. Less suspicious than a knife being dropped back near the spot where it was embedded in a vertical surface, leaving someone to conclude that it either somehow fell out on its own, or someone might have tampered with it.

And yes, this sounds as pendantic and tedious and ridiculous to me as it probably does to you, but I’m psychologically compelled to pursue perfection as closely as possible.

Ooh thanks

20thankyouverymuch

Anyone have issues unlocking the Made to Order challenge? I got the poison kill challenge by killing Crest this way, but not the specific MTO challenge itself

Did you prepare the food yourself or let the cook do it? Maybe you need her to do it and poison it when she looks away.

Could be worth a try I guess. But what a specific requirement that would be egh :grimacing:
I prepared the food and poisoned it myself. I didn’t dress up as a chef, if that matters at all.

Did in during a SASO run for Ambrose, but was crushed when I saw the challenge never ticked off.

I prepared it myself, poisoned it, woke up the chef and then went about my business doing other stuff and it worked. I was in my suit the whole time (I think).

I also prepared and poisoned the food myself in suit. I then woke the cook up in the end got the challenge. I think the point is the cook need to serve him the poisoned food.

Maybe it was how you woke up the chef that caused it break possibly? The “mission story” seems to imply she needs to be woken up by messing with her alarm (as per the note on her fridge). Did you wake her up another way?
