BERLIN, Germany (Mission #3) - Location Discussion

Btw, is there any gameplay reason Montgomery is considered to be the best agent among them, or it is just a background info?

no gameplay reason, just story

He wasn’t a patch on 47
Heck, he wasn’t even Maynard John

it helps that all of the targets are likely going to be all-disguise enforcers with very long, complex routes

Yeah I noticed in one of the streams today that random NPCs seem to be enforcers for 47s default suit, which might kind of give the game away tbh …IF they all turn out to be ICA agents.
I wonder if the difficulty setting might remove the enforcer dot for these guys?

Agreed, it’s no wonder 47 gets all the most lucrative contracts if all his co-workers are as half-arsed as some of these guys

I wonder if they say or do anything special if they spot you? Like say ā€œYou’re 47!ā€

I hope at least one has a goofy exchange: ā€œYou’re the stuff of legend, sir! Er, I mean: hands up!ā€

I’m also surprised the Chongquing lot don’t recognise 47.

interesting guess…

From Powerpyx, it looks like that
once an agent is identified, he will be immidiately being marked as target for subsequent playthroughs.
Interesting.

I don’t know how to feel about that to be honest, I think I would have rather had a situation like the maelstrom where the appearance of the target is different every time, and part of each run involves identifying them

you wanna do that 5 times for every target? its not fun haha, and theyre quite obvious to spot anyway

I suppose you are right, I do like the idea of not knowing your targets in advance but I guess that feeling will be exclusive to a first time playthrough

Having the enforcer dots above their heads makes it a lot easier to find them, though they certainly aren’t the only enforcers on the map in non hostile areas.Mission was a very pleasant surprise IMO, loss of room for contract potential I think. It feels like Colorado’s hostile atmosphere done right, to me.

I found a pretty cool Easter egg I haven’t seen posted yet.

You can find the Golden Idol in a crate in the Biker building.

Place it on the chair sitting alone outside by a pond, and wait.

It’s an interesting idea & the map itself seems very cool but going after 5 nondescript NPCs kinda just feels like i’m playing a contract

I wonder if there’s a way to get all 10 of them

One of the challenges is to kill the escaping ICA agents so I imagine it is. When I finished up, I saw two suspicious enforcers running away together with instinct, so I imagine some clever planning would make it possible.

Gotta say, I love the bus station at the start of the mission. Very authentic. They even got the logo right. Probably only took a quick Google search for IOI but it’s apricated nonetheless. I just wish the writing on the doors in the Club would be in German instead of English.

I also like the start of the mission, when you walk through the forest to the actual rave. Reminded me of Absolution, but in a good way. And speaking of Absolution: This is how you do ā€œThe Attack of the Saintsā€ right! ICA Killers who actually use disguises, blend in and can recognize 47 when he’s wearing a disguise. So much better than the stripper nuns who didn’t notice the person they’re supposed to kill is standing right next to them in an ICA uniform.
The map itself also pretty amazing. It feels huge and has a great atmosphere. Probably my favorite Hitman 3 map so far.
I don’t even mind that the targets are far less fleshed out that the previous one. Because the idea of having ten targets looking like random civilians/guards and choosing five of them to kill really feels like a breath of fresh air.
However, there’s one thing that I don’t like about this otherwise great mission: The map itself has no connection to the plot and or the targets. You’re basically killing five random NPCs who just happened to be at the rave. Which is a real shame, because I was hoping there would be an interesting story.

Same here, that was my only complain about this mission. I was even more dissapointed when the reason we are there wasnt even there, and in some remote Diner kilometers away.

Other than that, definitely in love with the whole map. The targets themself are fleshed out too, in my opinion. For example two of them check on each other from time to time, talking about how they are worried this contract might get them killed, because noone ever has gotten 47 so far. This was a really great sitation. Also, not knowing your targets but actually needing to figure them out by observing your surroundings is amazing. I get why they said this map is special.

Idk how I feel about this mission actually. There’s nothing wrong with the map itself, its design is superb. There just aren’t many interesting things to do with your targets. I wished there were more multi-kill opportunities. The DJ kill is brilliant and I also like the meeting as the club owner since you can eliminate all five targets needed there in a shootout (you just have to dispose of Montgomery’s bodyguard in advance so he doesn’t find the bodies).

I also don’t know if ā€œDrive It Homeā€ works correctly because I unlocked it after killing only one escaping agent (actually he wasn’t even escaping yet, because I had killed the last target only a couple of seconds ago). Well, I don’t have to bother with that challenge then.

Btw, how do you ā€œenvelop Chamberlin in a cloud of cocaineā€?
