I share your negatives and positives about the map. Obviously the atmosphere and feeling of the map are the best thing. Problem is⦠in my memory it already feels lifeless. But i like some part of it, because i think weāre supposed to feel that way. Diana gone, Gray gone, we donāt know about Olivia, ICA against us⦠Weāre alone, weāre the lifeless killing machine everyone said we were but we never felt like it. This is where 47 shines where everybody else would fall apart.
The lifeless part i donāt like is that i guess the map could have more little stories to it. Things that go beyond our mission.
Just wait for him to get in front of the fan (on the dance floor) and throw it through the fan.
The challenge will only be completed if it makes him go puke
Am I the only one who thinks that itās weird that 47 is like āYep, lemme just take the blodied clothing of my only family member who just died and wear it like itās nothing!ā ? I get that they wanted to give us the Subject 6 suit but the way they did it feels weird.
Force of habit?
47: āDonttakehisclothesdonttakehisclothesdonttakehisclothesdonttakehisclothesā¦ā
Some time later
Olivia: ā47? Why are you wearing Lucasā clothes?ā
47: āGoddamit!ā
The start of this mission and overall premise is alone enough to justify it as one of my favourite levels in this trilogy. All levels that have rival assassins looking for 47 have always been some of my favourite, all from Temple City Ambush, Murder of Crows and Hunter and Hunted (Abs).
The first thing I did was run straight past Agent Price to see if he would turn hostile and I was in luck. He really wanted me dead and was more then willing to do it himself. Then I reloaded and killed him before he even knew what happened.
I donāt understand why Price exists though. Heās way too easy to kill and isnāt even included in the target challenges. Easy way to get a silenced gun on your first run too.
Well, I think this is the reason. To introduce the whole āoptional targetsā mechanic, so the player wonāt be confused by the fact that they have to hunt down a bunch of people without even knowing what to watch out for and expect.
And the silenced gun is relatively fair as we donāt get to bring our own.
Heās a plot device, meant to set up the mission. Heās our gateway into establishing whatās going on in the Berlin.
Giving you the ability and tools to find the other target, so you donāt clumsy stumbled upon them without an idea of whatās going on.
Unlike most mission we go in completely blind. So the gathering of target intel happens real time and not in a cut scene. Plus it gives 47 some agency in the narrative
Fair, I get the point. But he still shouldnāt be that easy of an target. Maybe have him start next to the queue or something, it wouldnāt make it any harder to figure out. We have the conversation between 47 and Olivia so we know what weāre doing.
Ok, just got started on this map, but I love most of it already.
The atmosphere near the gas station is the best Iāve ever seen in Hitman since the Rotterdam mission in Hitman : Codename 47. One of my favorite Hitman moments already. The map, the design of the club, itās magnificent.
But itās also here where I officially started hating the approach to voice acting taken in this trilogy. Not only do they stick to the American accents, itās always the same damn voices. And these voices donāt even make the slightest effort of sounding different from one role to the other. Are these people voice actors or just people they picked off the street to just do their one voice for three games straight? The mission was extremely well on its way to give this vibe of danger, of being in a strange place, reminiscent of the Meat Kingās parking lot. But one of the first things I hear is that same voice again whining about some pills. Transported me right back to sunny Sapienza and jolly Miami, where one hears the same voice. As one does everywhere. Buzzkill. I had to shut down the game in disgust.
Iām probably too severe, and Iām sure I will enjoy the mission, but whatās up with these voices? Argh. Would have been such a quick, easy win.
Just telling how it happened, not saying I wonāt get over it. But thank you for your open disapproval, brought in such an elegant way! Almost sounds like you tried to shut ME down in disgust
