CARPATHIAN MOUNTAINS, Romania (Mission #6) - Location Discussion

I have no idea how it would work unless they just changed a few bits of guard dialogue and reskinned Edwards to be some arms dealer or serial killer or something

i want one so they can let us unlock the f-ing Subject 47 suit :rage:

its not actually a big deal but i really wanna take that suit elsewhere :frowning:

It would look very good at the morgue starting location in Hokkaido, I have to admit.

If we can bring the Tactical Wetsuit everywhere, we should be able to bring the Subject 47 suit everywhere too.

But on Hitman 3, you unlock the location suits via mastery. So maybe IOI could implement this suit in an escalation like the wetsuit instead of wasting their effort on an ET in this location?

As soon as I saw the screenshot of that outfit pre-release, I had a feeling that as cool as it was, we weren’t likely to have it as an unlock. That’s such a shame though, It’d look so out of place everywhere except like, some areas of Hokkaido. The mental image of 47 just wandering around the suburbs of Whittleton Creek or the tiki bar on Haven Island is hilarious.

thats what im hoping too. maybe they’ll give Romania the Halloween Escalation treatment since it’s a similarly small map. create a problem, sell the solution

same. for some reason IOI physically cant bear to give us a shirtless 47 suit :joy: probably one of the creative directors are stopping them from doing it because it’s “too weird”

Speaking of suits, that reminds me of a thought I had yesterday:

Fans: Give us a snowy map to use our winter suits on!!
IO: Okay… but you can’t use your suits

I still want them to add outfit changes and bringing our own inventory to this mission.

I wanna suit only it with my John Wick Suit/Signature Suit.

What a disappointment when i didn’t get the naked 47 suit at level 5

Well, here begins the grind to demand IO to get that “suit”, like the Tactical Suit in Hitman 2.

btw, i “like” the map even if i feel it’s a waste of a map. I still think it’s better than Hawke’s Bay. This is justified as a linear map without very much to do, it’s the ending and all that. Hawke’s Bay hadn’t any reason to be that short and tiny, even if it’s gorgeous.

First of all, not mountains (and roughly speaking, according to story, not Carpathians* at all), but just a train.
Second of all, nowhere to squeeze in the Elusive

*

I mean train legend says it’s set on a continuous railway loop and run accross a few countries and terrains.
Why Romania and Carpathian Mountains specifically, I believe the cannon events time lasts during the train goes through that area

The name of the location.

The reason I voted no. I thought it was very linear. I was just wondering if there were people who thought differently. (Which is a surprisingly big amount.)

I know. But still

Tbh the level can be set anywhere anyways, there is no landmark or sorts to say that it really is set in Romania. Did a bit of research to see if there’s any place that looks like the ending scene on the bridge and there is none.
Closest thing I got is the Landwasser Viaduct in Switzerland

With the ICA whistleblown and 47 and Diana on their own, where the hell is the franchise supposed to go now, exactly? The whole point of Hitman was completing paid contracts on an organizational basis, and now I guess Diana and 47 are supposed to just job surf?? They’re basically freelance now so I guess Diana is his talent agent, telling him about new job opportunities, “Hey 47 you might like killing this guy, he kills puppies as a morning ritual”. Okay so we’ve just spent the last 3 games (technically 1 large-ass game) killing the world’s most high profile targets, do we now just revert to regular drug lords and pretend like this never happened, or does 47 suddenly take it upon himself to put a bullet between God’s eyes? Goddamn I wouldn’t mind an actual reboot at this point.

They will just form the ICA MK2 complete with red sticker.

Think if they were to make a new Hitman it will be another soft-reboot (like Absolution and WoA) or take a few years after where new top CEOs are made up. Maybe even a parody of an Ex-President given looking at probably 5+ years wait time

Great, it’ll make it easier to pretend like this trilogy didn’t happen (story-wise of course, gameplay is world-class)

ICA will always be a part of 47, but it’s clear IOI wants to move on from the ICA. tbh i applaud the decision.

“the past… dead.” now IOI can stop revisiting his past, fighting the ICA, whatever. time to make creative stories for Hitman again

at the end of the game it’s clear 47 is still a hitman, and Diana is still a handler. im thinking she probably started a new agency on her own terms

the future of the story will probably be in the hands of threats to Diana’s contracting agency. but im getting ahead of myself, thats years and years away

I honestly don’t think it’s for the best to stay story oriented anymore if this is the kind of plots we’re getting. The slate needs to be wiped clean, just contracts, target backgrounds, a balance increase, and a place to spend that money. Let each level tell its own story. No more world-altering conspiracies and hamfisted character backgrounds. It’s been done to death in multiple mediums for decades, and WoA is far from pushing the envelope in that regard (even Hitman 1-4 were derivative stories, but at least it wasn’t the main point until like the last 3 missions of those games).

She practically already did at the end of Blood Money :S Which makes it all the weirder she was just a mid-level person in Absolution… and WoA
