CHONGQING, China (Mission #4) - Location Discussion

The servers there just operate as distractions, like radios. Unfortunately nothing happens if you pull both servers at once, I tried and was dissapointed

I thought it was related to a kill opportunity with the main server, especially since the game loves to tell you when the server gets repaired.

But… I guess it’s not? I was pretty disappointed to see nothing special about it.

What? It’s not from Colorado. In Colorado you don’t pull the server, just type a bit. The server pull distraction mechanic was first seen in Haven (I think)

Hokkaido, you can pull out KAIs circuits or whatever.

You’re right, fixed it.

I will say that this Chongqing is growing on me, particularly as I make more contracts there. The ICA facility has a few common disguises that you can’t start in (which is rare for spaces in Hitman 3’s maps) and a fun layout to navigate around, both of which make it a fertile ground for ideas.

Also, realizing that Royce comes up to the rooftop before the meeting with Hush is triggered was nice. Makes it possible to do non-sniper runs of End of an Era without entering the facility, just by shooting down drones from the rooftop with your handgun.

Because it’s fairly simple to do SASO by following the drone storyline, I’m curious whether people have attempted other suit-only routes that require infiltrating at least the apartment block?

I just had a run where I snuck my way up to the rooftop, got into the block via the Lotus Passage, and then left a weapon in Hush’s path by the stairwell. His bodyguard pauses as he calls for someone to pick it up, and when Hush walked on, I had enough time and space to KO him and dump him out the window. I shot one drone as I made my way down the stairwell into the courtyard, and that apparently is enough to bring Royce up to at least the entrance hallway, where I was able to KO her guard and kill her. I’m curious to try a route that requires going deeper into the ICA facility, though.

I did SASO not using the drone method. It took me 5 hours but that’s because I knocked out most of the guards so there would be less obstacles eliminating the targets

I did a walking only, no instinct, no KO, master SASO avoiding the Lotus Passage encounter. Infiltrating both the lab and the block.

Interestingly, we apparently used the same method for Hush. The weapon around the stairs will perfectly deliver Hush alone. This is from last week so I didn’t copy your strat

I literally had a dream last night about this map. Probably due to me listening to the Chongqing soundtrack shortly before going to sleep. Consider it a recommendation because it has some very awesome tracks.

The dream was magical!

I was on the same map, but at the crack of dawn. You had these angelic voices from the song, the soft hum of the city, and I was strolling on the walkway while on the horizon this golden light with hues of pink was shining through the refreshing drizzle. The warm glow of the sunrise was reflected in the wet windows all around and it made me feel light and content.

Probably lasted 5 seconds or so but it was positively beautiful.

It also probably means I spend too much time with this game. And that I should get into VR gaming.

Nice post. Those sort of things could be captured and used for future level design/ideas. I’ve never heard of a game developer creating something based on a fan’s dream, but you never know. Chongqing in the morning sounds nice a nice idea for DLC.

Chongqing is my favourite level. In tend to base this on how much I feel like replaying a level. Whilst other levels like Mendoza look great and have a nice layout, for some reason I’m drawn to these night time rain setups. Same reason I liked the first half of Absolution.

So, Hush’s apartment block has two prime electrocution kill locations that does not need you to puncture water coolers. One of them is at the stairwell at the opposite end of the one Hush uses when going up and down from the pod room to his brain machine upstairs.

It’s such a perfect kill location, but I can’t find a way to get Hush to go down that stairwell from upstairs, or go near the puddle when he’s in the pod room. Is it even possible to do it, or is that just there for contracts and/or escalations?

Are there any other accident kill opportunities that don’t leave blatant evidence of sabotage behind? (Blatant like a punctured water cooler, as opposed to a leaky pipe)

Lots of kill opportunities are there for contracts mode and escalations in every map since Paris, but if CJ can get Dalia on the stage with a fetch trick then I’m sure you could somehow get Hush to a puddle.

Oh man, if CJ is the standard I should be aiming for…

I find BigMooney far more reassuring to watch! :joy:

Ok guys. Grinding this one to mastery lvl 20 is a huge chore. Not because the challenges are hard, but because they’re spread out so much due to the map’s structure. It takes a shitload of time for me to complete a handfull mainly because I spend most of my time running from A to B, or waiting around. Currently at lvl 15 so only the time consuming challenges are left. Anyone else got this problem?

I honestly think mastery comes way too fast, so can’t help ya there.

Same as Velvet, got the mastery on this one unexpectedly fast, with plenty of challenges left (Mendoza on the other hand…). I feel like the deluxe escalation helped though. Other than that, just have a look which of your remaining challenges have the highest xp reward (ideally 4000) and focus on doing those.
