DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Mission #1) - Location Discussion

Sadly no. Tried the same approaches as you did, also tried just blowing the heli up with an explosive, but it“s as indestructible as all the others. Shame they didn“t make the heli their primary evacuation and the parachutes the secondary ones (in case you sabotage the helicopter). I“m really missing the old-fashioned vehicle explosion kills in this trilogy. We don“t really have any aside from Caruso“s seaplane and Sierra“s car.

I’m only having one escalation mission. I saw online there’s two.

It looks like, for whatever reason, the second one is only on PlayStation at the moment.

Level 2 of that escalation seems needlessly time consuming and fussy to me, with all the different required kill methods, but to be fair I’m not a big escalation guy in general so that’s probably why I prefer the simple ones.

I’m on pc, sorry I didn’t said it in the op

Loved it, and it’s the first time I have completed not just one but all 3 mission stories with mission stories setting to off! I’m sure it will change on other maps lol

Done 12 assassination challenges, just 3 left, I know one of them I have yet to do, as heard an NPC talking about it (wish I made s note where now!) Another as it always there but I don’t bother is sniper. The third unsure, but willing to give it a go and see what happens.

oh i forgot him on the list, but i got him. maybe the challenge is bugged?

The last one is Kitchen Staff (just checked, was missing it as well). I think the Skydiving Suit doesn“t count, since it“s your starting suit.

I know there are hidden mission stories in HITMAN 3 which you can unlock through the mission
Does Dubai have any of these? Or it’s just only 3 mission stories?

There are, but they don’t display as normal Mission stories.
Find the clues under your Intel when you come across them, they help.

Looks like something that you’d play Scatman’s World over.

That one always looked fucking weird though so I can see why they would’ve removed it. 47 always went too fast.

Really enjoy this mission. Only problem is the lack of guards on master. It seems a little easy, even if it is a tutorial it’s also the beginning of the end of a trilogy.

I’m at level 15 Mastery, played the level a couple times and found some cool kill opportunities, so I think I’m ready to give a good real first impression.

Fantastic opening level to Hitman 3.
Reminds me a lot of Paris with its very good swiss-cheese design, which improves tenfold when you open the elevator doors.

LOCATION
The location itself is really awesome. I love the opening, crawling along the side of the skyscraper, way, way high up in the sky. Making your way into the crowd for the opening ceremony, I didn’t expect I’d arrived just as they unveiled it. (I let out an audible gasp when the ribbons were cut.)
The design of the building is pretty nice. It’s so gold, lavish and gaudy, omg it’s so rich. But it’s really well made! Off to the side there’s an art installation and a balcony terrace, off to another there’s an indoor bar.
I like how different and labyrinthine the Staff quarters feel, but I wish there was a bit more colour or visual references to see which side of the building you’re on, since the secret ways to the upper floors are way more accessible on one side of the building.
The Penthouse itself is gorgeous. I love the blue carpets and curtains, really complements the gold, white and black environments. There’s some cool new camerawork when you first enter the penthouse area, with the camera panning far back to get a view of the huge reflective pool.

MURDERS
There’s only 3 guided story missions (apparently for every level) but many other ones that would normally be guided are not. That should sound bad, but it’s surprisingly not! Even the unguided kill opportunities have a lot of character and work put into them, still fully-voiced as far as I’ve seen.

My thoughts on the Mission Stories
  • The one opportunity where you can disguise yourself as the assassin is neat, but a shame that for this guy who is supposed to meet with Ingram to conduct a murder – can’t even see Ingram because the guards will be ticked off by his weapons. Ah well, I found a useful shortcut through the backstage area of the art room. After finding the journalist he wants, it’s another fun meet with the target, have a drink with him and oops it’s been spiked. Sorry, bud.
  • The opportunity to pose as Stuyvesant’s personal guard is cool, but very simple. Follow him to a training area, he turns his back on you and push him off. Eh. He says you can follow him as a guard afterwards, but I didn’t check to see if that changes anything in his route.
  • The real star of the show though, is the Server Room opportunity. Hack into it, get the elevators unlocked, change their schedule and sneak up o the penthouse. Then, there’s an awesome cinematic moment where you can lock yourself in a room with them while Grey taunts them like a true bro. That was damn cool.
  • I also dabbled a bit in finding some of the unguided mission stories, and wow, they really are just as ambitious as the normal ones, just with less hand-holding. I like that! It felt really awesome figuring out the details on my own.
Through curiosity and luck, I was looking for a fuse cell, which you can actually take out of other control panels, neat! Unfortunately you need a certain disguise to be able to talk to the art supervisor, and that wasn’t really communicated to me clearly, but I figured it out. Was cool to hear that even the supervisor has a whole dialogue track on the phone with Marcus.
I also found the explosive golf ball mission story, where I have a golf ball, a terrace balcony to put it, but no Ingram to wait for. This was a really fun one! Through the powers of deduction, I figured out that Ingram probably uses golf to relieve stress and anger, this also ties into intel that he doesn’t want any interruptions in the penthouse, so putting two and two together, I’d interrupt his work with loud noises nearby, then yes! he goes out to golf, just as anticipated. That was so satisfying to figure out, I’m excited to find more.

Overall, I really like this mission and the peppering-in of cinematic moments. Based on what I’ve played of Dartmoor, I assume all levels will have some sort of unique scripted moment for that cool factor, and I’m okay with that! It’s a nice blend so far of ā€œhere’s the cool stuff of our storyā€ plus ā€œhere’s the cool sandbox you wanna play inā€.

There’s a few other fun non scripted ones like getting marcus to meet with his daughter by getting Lucy away, electrocuting Marcus with the sun by switching some fuses, and Carl’s food thing, and of course the parachute

I’m really high on this mission compared to the sense I get from the rest of the community. I love the vibe and the setting; it’s exactly as opulent as I want a Hitman level to be. There’s a small footprint to the level, to be sure, but it doesn’t lack for intricacy, which I really appreciate.

If I were to change something, the assassin storyline is a little bit rigid; I wish you were able to encourage him upstairs on his own, and poison Ingram’s drink or loosen his railing before he gets there. The multiple ways to deal with Lucy Phillips, by contrast, make that part of the mission feel so much more dynamic.
