Elusive Target #34: THE FIXER (Year 5: February 28 - March 9)

I did it. Not as bad or as difficult as I was expecting from the horror stories I’ve heard.
Did you know you can put on Haverfoek’s clothes? I thought that wasn’t possible for any ET. Kinda neat. Don’t know what possible purpose it could serve, with all the insta-fail conditions with this ET.

it’s one of my mods, I’m dumb.

Edit: Never mind.

I just realized… The innkeeper in Santa Fortuna wears the same shirt!

Looks like this is the result of a mod you have installed.

Oh. well dang. That would have been cool if it wasn’t.

in my defense, it is very late where i am and I haven’t played Hitman in months and i completely spaced on that mod. Sorry.

Finish it yesterday. Because of all the restrictions, I’ve to be very careful.

Started undercover in the café (as a waiter), cleaning the table to blend in. Once the deal as been concluded, the Fixer has been intoxicated with the durian, making him going to the outside bathroom. A quick look to see which direction the courier has taken, before drowning the Fixer.
The body is then stashed in the next trunk.

Because one objective was completed, no possibility to restart. Now, it’s time to be very cautious and track the courier in the middle of the streets. After 8 minutes, he finally shakes the hand with the shopkeeper. The diamonds are on him. It’s time to find the good opportunity to KO him, especially in a secluded place.
Resuming the track of the courier, he fortunately passes by a technician room, with no NPC around. A coin to attract him inside, and what has to be done has been done. The body was also hidden in the box to fulfill this mission SA. Look for an exit, et voilà.

Because I was aware of all the restrictions stuck to that ET, I was cautious to prevent any instafail conditions. Though, this ET is still a nightmare for newcomers, just because of the ridiculous number of instafails conditions. Moreover, the fact that it is an ET, there is no way to restart this mission and learn from our mistakes.
IMO, I think it would be interesting to include first this mission in an Arcade mission: it would help players to develop a strategy and uncover the instafail conditions.

Beside what it is said above, this ET remains interesting as it introduces new elements of gameplay (track the courier, recover diamonds…)… Maybe it’s time to implement permanently the ET missions in H3
Come on IOI, it would be a cheap way to include new contents to your game

The anxiety has dispersed as The Fixer is now taken care of SA!

I read up on this over and over to get it right, I couldn’t have handled failure.

Hopefully to never return!

When you played The Fixer back in 2016 and you know the courier will take the diamonds to the school, but now you have the “Bubble Queen” Gum Pack in your inventory…

Thank you for the step-by-step, I safely dealt with this mission using a blue easter egg (tranq) on the courier after following him, and then a durian on the target. Elite Soldier start for later consulate and basement access.

@scat1620
I can confirm it works flawlessly.
Placed at my feet indeed.

Here it is in a three acts play:

It’s probably too late for them to release it in Arcade before the ET expires this run. But I’d still take it. @Combatglue How about it, an Arcade contract including The Fixer now that he’s been returned from the never-again list?

I took a lazy route for this one: start as a soldier, toss a coin by the crate in the carpet shops near the wall as the target walks by at about 4:00 in to lure him for a quick stab-and-hide, then wait in the school in the empty room next to the dining room to coin-lure the courier to the cabinet there for a KO-and-hide to get the diamonds.

He will eventually follow Claus to school, but first he will meet with courier, then return to consulate, and when he finds out his client is gone, he will go to school, to principals office to ogle Claus indefinitely.

Was really afraid to even start this one after reading everything here. Did a very conservative run – and managed to finish it SA! But the target is kind of boring…

He does follow Strandberg, because if you try to use a distraction to lure him, he doesn’t fall for it, but Strandberg does, and he will follow Strandberg to the distraction. It was my final obstacle to getting to him.

For everyone having issue with following the courier and getting spotted by him, may I remind you all that we have a tool to help with that now that we did not have in H1 or H2: a camera with a zoom function. Worked like a charm for me.

The effective FOV is actually lowered each zoom level (not to mention any slight adjuistments to your position greatly affects where the camera is pointing), making it harder to focus on him without civilians inevitably cross paths with your sightlines. Honestly, it’s just better to track him via instinct and tail him from a distance with your special eyes instead.

Been 5 years since this was available to play.

East SA

I recommend start as a waiter

Use the durian on target after he chats with courier, then use durian on target only. Accidentally courier got sick and I waited about 3 extra minutes.

The courier after he gets all diamonds will come to school, the path he walks up, that green pole where you would climb up to headmaster.

That path after he walks up use an Easter egg and grab the diamonds but watch for guards. It’s illegal to pick diamonds if they see you.

Don’t worry about bodies

Easter egg doesn’t spoil SA

Or target with durian, drown is accident.

This elusive is the most failed of any because people get the courier before he has all the diamonds.

Automatically fail if you grab diamonds and he doesn’t have all. He only comes to the school once he has them all. So best to wait.

I had no such problem. Mainly because, in the places where he picks up the diamonds, there’s little traffic, and a few good places to stand back and watch from.

Wanted to use the RFID Taser on him but turns out he does not react to distractions and do not pick up the coin.

Did it. I avoided eliminating the target until I knocked out the courier with an egg in the school stairwell where nobody would see his body nor see me collect the diamonds. I’d have preferred to clear the floor first but little chance getting an officer disguise without getting caught. Anyways I left the diamonds alone until I was able to eliminate the target at the consulate this way if something went wrong I could reset. disguised as a security guard I got him to the bathroom with a Durian and drowned him. Before doing so I made sure to have an officer disguise handy for my trip back to the school cause I don’t like navigating around so many enforcers; especially on when I can’t reset on an Elusive Target mission.

Anyways quick question: Was the Courier an added NPC or does he exist somewhere on the regular map?

Got him and the :small_blue_diamond: :gem: :small_blue_diamond: . Exited the level at 12:34 just because it was close enough (only a few seconds). Started on the roof, got the consulate key card, went to the shisha cafe, didn’t bother waiting around, just went to where the courier will always pass by and placed down a  . Then went to the consulate, got a cop disguise, waited for the target and tossed a  grenade. Drowned him in the bathroom toilet, put my suit back on, then went back to wait for the courier, and took a snap of him falling before he hit the ground.

Edit: I forgot to mention… When the I picked up the diamonds there was a distant boom and the screen seemed to shake.

There’s an NPC that looks like him… I don’t know if this same guy is in the ET mission. If he’s missing - then it’s likely they gave him a routine.
