Book of Boba Fett trailer

In comes down to in which way you are thinking? Both yes and no. Budget wise no, since it’s Disney and Lucasfilm. That said there will be a two years gap between The Mandalorian season 2 and 3. The Book of Boba Fett will release this Christmas and Mando season 3 will release sometime in 22.

Responding here to avoid continuing taking the other thread off topic.

Yeah, that’s a fair argument, I can agree with that.

Yeah, I tried to avoid that, but I’m just typing all of this out between breaks at work and am not really presenting my case as well as I’d like, or at least not translating it to word as a proper expression of how it is in my head, right now. Another time.

After reading through the what’s new thread regarding The Original Trilogy and The Terminator, I’m beginning to wonder if I can tolerate such opinions.

I’m going to the shed, time to dig up the ban hammer.

Now I wish there actually was a remaster :sob:

The Book Of Boba Fett, Ep.1. Very much hooked!
I, like many fans, fantasized about Boba escaping the Sarlacc. Boba Fett is the symbol of resilience. :fist:

Now, hyped as ever about Obi-Wan. :raised_hands:

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra did an rendition of some of the Mandolarian score.

With an introduction by David Bateson. So for anyone who wishes to hear agent 47 say ā€œthis is the wayā€, here it is :

That’s pretty cool. Mmm the composer really knows how to make a good theme song.

I wonder why David Bateson of all people is there though?
They needed a freelance actor to announce something? Does he have a contract with the Danish Orchestra as a presenter or something?
Still cool either way.

He’s done it before. A few years ago, he did it when they did the Star Trek theme. DB did the whole ā€œspace, the final frontierā€¦ā€ intro speech. Knocked me for a fucking loop when I heard it.

I really like the first episode but I am starting to develop a pet peeve that I cannot ignore. I keep seeing articles showing the actual chair on top of the dais in the throne room and saying that Boba is now sitting on ā€œJabba’s old throneā€. Jabba never sat in, or could sit in, a chair. Call that movable platform the throne? Sure. I’m with you, but the chair itself that Boba sits in is not ā€œJabba’s throneā€.

Shallow and pedantic, I know.

He lives there and the same people who like all that fantasy space stuff like video games << that’s my guess. Nerd Alert :rotating_light:. Oh wait, I’m the nerd :joy:

So far I been enjoying The Book of Boba Fett and after seeing the three first episodes I had the chance to reflect on the three episodes as well as The Mandalorian. What I hate, dislike, like and love about the Star Wars live action tv-shows.

I’ll start with what I dislike, when it comes to The Mandalorian and also TBBF. Both shows feels overall outdated in terms how they present themselves compared to other shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and other modern dramas. It feels closer to Xena Warrior Princess and it doesn’t feel contemporary. Luckily it isn’t a deal breaker, it just feels odd compared to other tv-shows. We been spoiled with great dramas for a long time now.

Now I’ll move onward to what I hate, luckily The Mandalorian doesn’t suffer from this issue. Episode 3 of TBBF was a really big low point in the show. I’ll quickly get worst offender out of the way, the Mos Espa speeder chase. It was awful, slow and unexciting. Which was a shame, since there are many exhilarating chases through out the series. What made it worse was the silly campy movie trope of moving a big ā€œglassā€ through the street during a chase scene. I hated it was a Ralph Mcquarrie painting of Jaba’s Palace. It made the hole scene worse. I hated the street cyper punk gang’s speeder bikes, they didn’t fit Tatooine. Could easily fit Coruscant. Another thing was the street punks justified them steeling water on them being poor, yet the dress pretty sharp, got enough credits for body modifications and pimping speeders. Show, don’t tell. If you can’t afford water, maybe you should sell your fancy bikes.

Now for what I like. I enjoy seeing the shift in Boba Fett motivation of becoming a ā€œrighteousā€ crime lord. His story and motivation are told through flash backs, we keep seeing the scene from Attack of the Clones where young Boba is confronted with his fathers death, seeing him leaving Kamino in Slave1 while a young Boba watches on. Coming to terms with if he continues down the same road as his father he will share the same fate.

Humanization of the Tusken Raiders, making them more then just ā€œsand peopleā€. It’s a classic western trope and it also helps bring more weight Anakin slaughter of the Tusken camp in EP2.

The Rancor scene, I loved that they fleshed out the Rancor. Making it a ā€œsensitiveā€ creature with strong bonds to it’s trainer. Suddenly it makes sense who Malakili in ROTJ cried his eyes out after the Rancor died. One thing I didn’t like was how Boba Fett talked to it like it was a small puppy. They could easily have shown his affection towards the creature in a way that fit his character a bit more.

The good thing about it being a tv-show is that, if one episode sucks it isn’t a big deal. We get new one next week and hopefully it will be better, compared to a movie where we are stuck with it for the next few years.

Actually looking like a really good star wars game, possibly the best lego game yet. They’ve really deepened the gameplay and visuals.

April 5th.
Also Classic mumble mode confirmed

TBBF - What was shaping up to be a spin-off series centered around a charismatic supporting character is in fact a series that builds bridges with so many other opuses (The Mandalorian, The Last Jedi, The Clone Wars…) A good formula to retain the audience and serve surprising fan service. The finale keeps all its promises with the outbreak of action that previous episodes lacked. I enjoyed it, even if I didn’t expect to see Boba as such a good guy.

I’m not totally interested in following all the new Star Wars shows for all the new lore and plot points in the series. I am however interested in the Mandalorian series and where that’s gonna go after Season 2.

Do I have to watch the Boba Fett series to get caught up on anything?
(I’ve heard it’s not that great of a show, so I’m not interested in that either.)

I have also heard that there’s like 2 episodes that are entirely focused on Mando (that are good) for some reason, so I’m guessing that’s got something to do with the continuation of his story. So I’ll have to watch those at least, right?

Yes, there are key moments in The Book of Boba Fett that sets up season 3.

A few episodes has Din Djarin as the main character.

I think the two stories will continue to intertwine as the seasons tick by and maybe someday Disney + will list them under the same header ā€œMandalorian / Book of Fett.ā€

How did I not know about this?
