The “No Firearms” objectives are a bit wonky anway. The “Silent Assassin - No Firearms” will allow you to use the dart guns, while the “No Firearms” objective doesn’t.
First campaign failed.
I’m currently trying to loot as many items from the locations. (I will try to have a list for the Freeloader topic). You haven’t lived until you escaped Paris with a rifle on your back, a briefcase with a shotgun in your left hand, and a saber in your right one.
But I got cocky. I was trying to access the penthouse in Isle of sgail. To loot the Sapper’s Axe and the Mace. I got seen climbing the pipe (no keycard). Which is an hostile action. I was shot down. And it was an alerted territory.
In the end i took the Sapper’s Axe from Mendoza (much simpler), and scaled back to the Katana and the Mace in Isle of Sgail.
I’m also spending the merces as fast as I can into common/rare items. It goes quickly (most of them are in the 5000 M range).
As a consequence, I’m starting to see Epic rewards for end of syndicates. As intended.
Also, I know someone saw it during the CTT, and it’s still here :
I posted it in the Freeloader topic, but for the sake of visibility (and because it took me some time). Here is a list of locations you can loot for the Weapon Wall :
The list is certainly partial.
I haven’t checked all locations. As an example, the Sapper’s Axe might still also be in Bangkok

My previous feeling about Freelancer before its release (I didn’t play the CTT).
I had the opportunity to play Freelancer few hours. I completed the first two Showdown of a campaign (So, I only played 7 missions overall) but here is my first impression of this gamemode:
Pros:
- Overall, this gamemode is a refreshing way to play Hitman. New objectives, new random targets, safes, couriers… I appreciate the way that you need to come close to your target undetected, try to find a disguise, seeking for tools or weapons and leave the mission the task accomplished. We have still the Hitman’s spirit but in a new interesting way.
- The safehouse looks great. My mastery is still too low (6) to discover the house, but the pictures of it make me good vibes. Absolutely not in Hitman’s core, but decorating 47’s home is unexpectedly cool.
- Preparing the mission: choosing meticulously the destination of the campaign. Looking for alerted territories, saving some maps for Showdown… It allows a lot of freedom in mission preparation.
- A small thing (purely cosmetics), but having Deluxe items is a cool thing for Deluxe owners (a way to “award” Deluxe owners, but without gamechangers).
- Mastery tracks. Even though Freelancer is composed of 100 mastery levels, each level requires only 5000 XP and XPs are “easily” obtained and rewards are good (at least 250 XP for specific action and even 1000 for killing head of Syndicate IIRC). Therefore, it wouldn’t be tedious to level up Freelancer mastery.
Cons:
- The Suspects system. Maybe I still do’t understand how it works, but it quite difficult to identify the head of syndicate. The two showdown missions I succeded is mostly by luck. In the first one, the suspects were alerted and I killed the first suspect I saw (and it turned out to be the good one) and same for second showdown (where after trying to identify the suspect and killing some innocent suspects, I ended the mission by killing the guy just before he leaves the map - by luck, it was the good one).
I probably need more trains on that feature. To be honest, I still don’t understand correctly the different clues. Maybe after being used to that system, I would find this system more affordable. - Some challenges are either very hard or grindy. Challenges like GOAT or other feel very grindy (not a fan of it). In addition, challenges like finish a campaign in hardcore mode is surprising. IOI ultimately removes SASO challenges in Master mode in H3 (despite being present in H2), but they introduced such challenges in Freelancer. I have completed Hitman 3 at 100%, but I will not likely unlock all challenges in Freelancer.
- 47 earns a lot of money after every mission and he’s the best of the best. Nevermind! 47 is not able to get coins or a silenced gun. I know that it’s part of Freelancer to conserve precious equipment… but coins could be a “normal” loadout for a mission.
- After reading some posts, it sounds like you can lose your tool equipment if you fail a campaign. Sounds brutal for me, but at least, it will force me to use tools more often as they are not eternal.
- Losing gears is understandable, but losing half merces after failing a campaign is quite too much I think.
My wishes:
- The possiblity to unlocks some Freelancer tools in the main game. I would appreciate using “water can” and “gas can” in main missions. IOI can introduce them like previous items, with challenges tied to the main game.
- Alerted territories in H3 maps have more cameras at locations that sound more appropriate. Would be good to include those changes in Master mode of the main game.
- No introduction of new challenges in Freelancer mode (there are enough of them).
- Golden objectives are random. I would appreciate if we get at least the possibility of choosing SA objective for each mission.
- Addition of SA tracker on Freelancer.
Conclusion
I appreciate this mode, even though it is not perfect. If the missions are pretty fun, I’m not a fan of Showdown mission with suspect system.
Thank you IOI for Hitman game
Wow you’ve done well to get all the loot boxes filled I’m way, way behind that haha
Also there was Merces in “El Matador” vault in Santa Fortuna. Too bad El Matador pistol isn’t there.
I’m guessing there is no way then?
It just feels wrong unlocking all that stuff by stumbling my way through it all.
And here is a video for the Hackl 9S Covert.
I think it’s the only placed silenced pistol in the mode. It’s well hidden.
We might need a gallery or listing of the different ‘Tells’… Not sure it’s worth a whole other topic, but… It sure would be helpful. Show the suspects with the purple-triangle action over their head too.
If you loot the vault in New York, you can extract the hard drive (I.E, just take it out, 47 doesn’t carry it), and get 6000 mercers; there’s also some merces on a plinth in the vault too. You can get about 10,000 merces by doing this, which may be worth the time (and pays FAR more than any courier).
This was me two nights ago. I was that close to throwing in the towel. The lack of equipment is a steep curve at the start. I slowed it down and took it slow and steady, only taking objectives if they were easy to take and only sweeping the side content after the assassination and only if safe.
Quick question to those who tested it: If you decide to abort a mission in the safehouse (next to map assignement an interactin is present to abort a mission - see picture).
Are the consequences of aborting campaign the same as failing a campaign? I guess so but I’m wondering.
You will lose 1/2 of money and freelancer tools.
I hope this is a bug but I’ve lost the sniper rifle of makeshift pack during a failed mission Is it normal that you can lose also paid items?
Never got a silenced pistol from a random crate before. New York has all the best stuff. The vault has a lot of money too.
This is in a deposit box actually, the vault has just money and other stuff you can’t bring home.
There are two burial daggers, one in the Vault, one in a lockbox.
And yes, a lot of things in New York. This was my haul the first time I went there (I got really lucky and had a 5mm in a crate, only crate weapon in location I found currently. And the Jaeger was bought with the Merces made in the Vault. Not bad for a level I came into empty handed) :
The Chloroform Flask is pretty interesting. One of the rare Freelancer Tools placed on location. Most others are poison syringes. And a scrambler in Hokkaido.
The Flask could be very useful, depending on the syndicate type. Lots of “use sedative” objectives around.
Huh, I found nothing when I went through that.
PSA about Collectors items : you can still lose them if you exit the level without them.
