HITMAN 3: Seven Deadly Sins (NEW DLC)

This is piecemeal content to an uncomfortable level. Fine if you want to cut up and sell off relatively small bits of content for some Euros each, but for a trilogy that has been a bit notorious for confusing package structures, this is off the chain. Of course if you don’t want to buy them, nobody is forcing you, but this whole ‘buy them separate, with the hope that people will like it and buy more’… didn’t they try that before? Didn’t work out too well either if I recall

Plus, more DLCs than levels just doesn’t sit right with me

I am generally a big fan of Hitman and have bought the same game a handful of times for different platforms (think I own Blood Money about 4 or 5 times) but this is something I’ll only get if they have some sort of ‘complete’ sale that has everything apart from the base game, and only if it’s actually a reasonable price. £5 for what they’re offering is pretty feeble, especially when your options to choose your own suit in the H3 levels are slim (only 1 start point in Berlin, none in Carpathean, etc)

No FuckCabin DLC map confirmed…

LOL. I talked about this when I played through Contracts and Silent Assassin recently. Old Hitman games used to be HORNY! Almost to an embarrassing degree. So while I wouldn’t necessarily want a return to that (or to the sorta-kinda ironic grindhouse aesthetic of absolution), the WOA trilogy does seem really clean-scrubbed in comparison.

Plus two people canoodling really does present a unique dilemma for assassination if only one is a target…

As a big fan of Hitman I will certainly buy this day one but I have a little concern about this : I hope there will be a REAL DLC with new missions (like Patient Zero) at one moment.
Because it seems that they will only make new Escalations contract and no new missions.
I don’t remember as many Escalations on Hitman 2 (one or two per months) but here with 7 sins and the Deluxe, it’s like IO prefers Escalations to new real missions with new unique targets, new mission stories, etc.
Do you feel the same, or am I the only one ?

I just wanna add my bit, but IO, I’d love for more of a narrative based hit compared to escalations.

Right now I’m getting a vibe where its Contracts II, except instead of getting cool hits, we’re gonna be smacking people with a stick.

But wait, The Greed trailer is showing us that the sin is 47’s Greed. …Which means, will we be seeing 47’s lust? :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: Wait what if 47 starts Lusting after Diana.

But yeah, that was quite a whiplash of up and down from seeing the trailer, the 7 sins concept, then reading the press release saying it’s just an escalation. I thought it was a little early to expect remixed maps, but “7 part series” made my brain light up with possibilities.

Now I fear that this kind of thing (escalations and holiday mini-missions) are all we can expect for the better part of next year. And the pricing structure is off-putting, not just in terms of value, but that it adds yet more stuff to the confusing checklist of things people new to the game will see available.

I’m really hoping that, in the same way Hitman 2016 added Patient Zero with its game of the year edition, there will eventually be an “ultimate collection”, retailing for something around $60, that gives you every-damn-thing, so that people can look to that as the single, standard way to buy the Hitman WOA experience. And it would be lovely if they added some actual bonus missions in that package (that we could pay for individually too if we own everything else). Until then I guess the drip feed will continue to drip, and some of the drips will be more expensive than others.

I just want to make sure none of the content will be time-limited. If not, I’m just gonna skip it until it goes on sale or they decide to lower the price. Unless they do reveal that future months will have actual missions. Escalations and reskins just aren’t worth that much to me.

I know what my choice is for the Lust Suit…

And since IOI is teasing “new gameplay mechanics” for this DLC, maybe for “Lust”, 47 can go back to hiding bodies like he did in Absolution

Too much politically correct in this world for that now…

There is one thing that makes me think these “escalations” might be more than just escalations: the fact that Diana is apparently voicing them. Since when has Diana deigned to voice escalations before?

There are some “interesting” results doing a Google search for “hitman agent 47 rule 34”.

You wrote this as if chastising me or disagreeing, but for the record I am speaking positively about this news. I am happy to pay for quality content, but people generally complain about having to do so and label people like me “sheep.” Hence my “call me one if you want, but I’m excited…” point of view.

Though I do think the fact Hitman 3’s value proposition is lower than Hitman 2 Gold is obvious, and probably justifiably turns off a lot of people. I try and take things for what they are though, and also think IOI promised too much for Hitman 2 Gold.
