I am confused too. I was certain that for Greed, we’ll get escalation and some new items, and that’s it, now I hear there are some other things…
That seems to be the case from how the info we’ve received so far reads… but once again, it’s a case of “Who knows?”, because IOI are to Comms what Agent Smith is to evading capture.

Thanks for the giggles @scat1620
I just finished the escalation, and it’s incredible. It’s fun, it’s unique, it has new gameplay elements and crazy unlocks. Even the coin has a unique sound when you throw it. And hitting people to create coins is quite fun.
What if the butcher pack we saw will do the same…? Spawn meaty bones when we kill someone with the saw? Lets not think of that.
While I can afford this DLC, you guys aren’t selling me on it at all ![]()
Maybe in a few months when it’s half price
$30 escalation.
Well I don’t think this forum represents the average person. Maybe Average Joe loads up the game and sees a new tab on the destination screen and focuses on that, rather than challenge hunting. Remember they got rid of challenge packs too, even ones they already made. I don’t think they do this stuff willy nilly.
I’m comparing it mainly to Patient Zero, which had pretty minimal changes. Do I think this had a lot less effort put in by the dev team than something like The Author? Not really. And again I’m not saying people should like it, I’m just saying they chose to put X amount of effort into escalation packs, rather than X amount of effort into Patient Zero 2, and I think they did that for a reason and not “laziness” or whatever.
I’m seeing a lot of “Meh” with this escalation. In that it’s got cool unique voice-acting, lighting, and some special touches you don’t see in other escalations, but otherwise it’s a bit basic and easy.
However, if we look at the Deluxe Escalations, those got better over time (and not all were fantastic from the start). They range from the basic, fairly simple Escalations like The Azmodeus Waltz and Percival Passage, to the more recent Satu Mare Delirium that changes quite a bit of the level design and offers a unique challenge.
So… I’m sure some will stand out more than others.
So this Escalation have more than 1 challenge to it? Does sombody know how many?
I’m just confused that they gave us an Elton John outfit but didn’t include the glasses and wig to match.
Maybe we unlock new pieces of the Elton costume with each part/sin or maybe we have to pay 30 for each of those too ![]()
Hmm, I’d say it’s the opposite? It has more to it than a normal escalation, with challenges to unlock and multiple ways to do it. If you want the 60 coin challenge you have to do the whole thing without the items, which is difficult. Say whatever you like about the value of the package but these are definitely “enhanced” escalations or whatever, not basic ones.
I totally get you’re not saying people should like it and I’m not criticizing the fact that you like it. I’m genuinely happy for you. I just don’t think that much effort was put into that escalation to warrant a $5 price tag. I personally think The Author had more work put into it. It’s Sapienza at night, with street lights on. 2 brand new targets and new disguises. The inside of the church is re-done, same for the room in the apartment where Brother Akram is, the crypt under the church has the movie set. NPCs and items are in different places.
For the Greed escalation we have an orange filter (I don’t think that’s a lot of effort to produce) coins and a frog statue at the starting location. Everything else is the same. For the unlocks we get another coin? A cane that’s already in the game? I’m not trying to be difficult but I seriously fail to see where is the tons effort. To me Patient Zero had more effort put into it and for a cheaper price.
By all means do not let my criticism get in the way of your enjoyment. I too will eventually get these escalations but at a cheaper price when it’s on sale.
I have no issue with people purchasing whatever they want and liking whatever they want. But I have to voice my concern when I hear that this had lots/tons of effort put into it.
This is not a turd! This is a glittery turd!
My crystal ball tells me we are looking at 7 unremarkable escalations, cryptically described as ‘contracts’ to mislead potential buyers, who believe they are getting meaningful content and not this thrown-together rubbish.
I would happily throw money at IOI for new locations, new missions in the existing locations, or to permanently unlock certain elusive contracts to replay at my leisure. I would sooner throw my money down a hole than reward them for vomiting up a slew of escalations and marketing them as paid DLC.
Your nickname rings a bell. Aren’t you super oldschool?
I said “did it have a lot less,” I acknowledge it’s less. We’re getting 7 compared to 3 (real) missions in Patient Zero though. Also I’m not even necessarily saying the value is equal, more that I think this has had work put into it and isn’t just 7 normal escalations.
I mean at the end of the day these are 7 “special” escalations for $30 and people can decide for themselves whether that’s worth it to them. It was worth it to me, but I don’t blame others for a minute if they want to wait for a sale.
No school like the old school!
Well so i didn’t wanted to buy it in the end i tought in my country we will have restrictions for long time, i just realized that i don’t mind i took the whole pack, for sure it looks as an improvement from the Deluxe Edition escalations. SDS give us extra challenges and the coins looks nice with the fleur de lys, i enjoyed the escalation and found nice about the cane who spawn coins also if I’ll never bring it in mission. Definitely hoping in a shotgun with infinite ammo with striker effect. I hope after this DLC we get another 6 bonus missions pack i don’t care how much money it cost I’ll buy it.
The other challenges are just “exit with X greed coins” (or whatever they’re called).
when release of second sins mission? who knows?
new act every 6 weeks or so.
It’s a weird feeling, but this will be the first time that I’ll skip out on Hitman content and wait for a sale. I waited until Act 1: Greed’s release, so I could properly evaluate the content. After watching some videos, the price-for-content ratio just isn’t there for me.
I’ve always supported IOI throughout their endeavors, so you can’t claim I’m being stingy. I pre-ordered Hitman (2016): The Full Experience (remember when they called it that?). I bought the GOTY Upgrade day one and defended Patient Zero saying that it was worth the money. I pre-ordered Hitman 2: Gold Edition and pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Hitman 3. Out of all of these, the Deluxe Edition of H3 is the only one I felt a little iffy about, but I wanted to support IOI with their first independent release.
Now with the Seven Sins Collections, it’s the first time that I truly feel the value isn’t there. This is my personal opinion, so it’s most likely different for those reading this post. But with the multitude of bugs still affecting my experience and getting locked out of some unlocks (Semtex MK III & Sieger Briefcase), I’m kind of burnout on Hitman 3 anyway.
With the Xbox Spring Sale starting in a couple of days, I’d rather just save the $30 and purchase another whole game.
