Why would SE pay IO for using an IP that is owned by SE?
It’s more than likely IO had to give consent for this game to even go ahead given their “full control”. Also, notice how they refer to it as ‘control’ rather than ‘ownership’? Yeah, thats because IO only have an exclusive license to the IP from SE.

The second target is Dexter Mayer, who I assume is a professor or scientist judging by the pens in his pocket. The third target is Jacob King, a military contractor.
I’m hoping that it’ll be like the original Hitman Sniper, with 10+ targets for each map.

Didn’t IOI said earlier that with gaining independence they returned their ownership on the franchise?
Sometimes it’s just saying things using synonyms or different wording that means exactly the same.
“Full control” is not just “control” and sometimes this wording can be taken as ownership.
Either way it’s a dark forest and one can break a leg trying to get to the bottom of the truth.
So I won’t try to argue on this subject.

There is no argument when Hardware has provided proof the SE did own it earlier in the thread. The trademarks are all still registered to SE. IO just has an exclusive license.
IO are just trying to spin it using synonyms as you’ve said.

I cringed a little when Diana said, ‘greetings 426’. The only reason 47’s name is a number is because of his unique upbringing at the Ort Meyer lab. This sounds like the typical (casual fan) confusion where you think it’s ICA that have numbered agents.

Since this is going to be a mobile game where you can spend real money, what are the odds that 47 is hidden behind a paywall? Forcing you pay real money to unlock him unless you want to spend hours up hours of grinding?
Also looking forward to Hawkeye, Adam Jensen and Cloud Strife being unlockable characters.

Wasnt that already known since the training missions? She introduced herself as member of the “handler program”. I always assumed that means she deals with more than one.
Whatever route Hitman takes in the future, I hope Jane Perry stays in her role as Diana. She and Bateson just fit and work so, so well in their roles.

Maybe in the past but 47 killed all her agents in the comics. Frees up a bit of her time…
Did he? I read the comics, I totally missed that apperantly. I thought he only killed the other clones…

As far as I remember that was basically her first (or one of the first) real assignments. And shortly after that they recruited 47. So she basically still had the training wheels on, and wouldn’t have been assigned to any other agent(s) long term yet. That’s why 47 got the feeling “he wasn’t the only one being tested” in the prologue.

Diana and 47 are assigned to the same target at the end of the comics. He takes out her team one by one and then stages a perfect accident. Later, as she tracks him down on the street, she describes it as, I shit you not, “Like seeing myself in someone else for the first time”
If you need me I’ll be in my Angry Dome, muttering to myself about this soulmate AU they made into a game specifically to ruin me for all other forms of entertainment

And Im maybe confused here, are you happy or angry about this being in the comic? 
It might be a group codename (idea from someone on Discord), or it could be their Agency number (47’s was something like BRO 3886). We could say “oh yeah that means handlers refer to their agents by their agency number when on assignments” if it was but the problem with that is Berlin and Jiao, who refers to her agents by their names. Only time will tell.
I mean how am I supposed to enjoy normal media now after I’ve had a taste of strong, morally complex woman gets her man who is threatening but not a threat to her after 20+ years of subtly growing together as people and back into the Dome I go to splutter indignantly about the inherent eroticism of loyalty

Thats a really good point…! Lets drag this futher as I just pretend Requiem is their wedding and we have everything we want. I mean, it has a priest, a kiss between Diana and 47… usual assassinations… I see no wrong in that!
