It is something the game will need at some point in it’s life cycle, this isn’t due to any grips I have with server issues, unlocks or rating being locked by an always online mode. We live in a time where everyone who can afford the luxury of video games, consoles and a high end gaming PC, also got an internet connection. I personally don’t have a grip with the always online service, but I can understand why some do. But for me it’s not a problem.
However the biggest problem I see with not having an offline mode that works like past titles, with ratings and unlocks being available. Is that eventually WOA server will go offline, which means that WOA will go the route of Absolutions Contracts mode.
Which in the end means that the rating system, item unlocks will disappear from the game. It will limiting the experience and the way IO imagined the full experience of this well crafted trilogy. I think this is the reason why WOA trilogy needs an offline mode, so that the game can still be enjoyed to it’s fullest in 10 or 20 years time, just like I enjoy Codename 47 and SA 20 years later.
Guess that means you’ll see me back here in 8 years making threads demanding IO bring WoA servers back online. You’ll all be telling me “IO is busy working on 007: Requiem, they don’t have time for WoA servers” and I won’t listen
Now that I know there is a way to replace music/make handlers shut the f up yourself, all I can really ask for from io is to rework and add new animations.
I want IO to re-add items that appeared in H3 locations to previous ones - like soap in bathroom in Paris or Sapienza, banana in bowl of fruit in Paris, tool box in consulat garage, fish in Hokkaido, muffins in kitchen in Bangkok etc. It would not be gamebreaking and it would look pretty neat (they did that a bit with briefcase and with few items, so I don’t see point why not do it again).
Also, I am very dissapointed that soap doesn’t work like bannana! Like, what the point of soap if you can’t put it down and make someone slip on it?
Since I’m a cook in real life, I would like kitchen areas to have more of the tools I use. For example, I would love to see what 47 can do with a meat tenderizer mallet.
I’ve requested this before, but if IO aims to increase the longevity of the new Hitman Trilogy, i hope they release a level maker that can be used by the community. We can create our own levels (existing or completely new) and have the OG games remade as per our imagination.
Also, Suit Case. Allows you to pick a starting disguise based on your mastery unlocks. You use it by dropping it, and then changing your clothes from the case, swapping your current clothes with the ones in the Suit Case.
Looks and acts like a briefcase, but non-suspicious even with guard clothes in it.
The ability to set interaction prompts to press instead of hold. For players who want interaction prompts to still be hold, there can be a toggle in the settings where you can choose between either.
Strictly storytelling-wise, I don´t think that would be a sensible thing. The consulate is on alert, there are rioters outside and an armed clash waiting to happen. They should be all the more careful with any civilians they let in (or that get in).
Also, I have one more wish for Marrakesh (which I also stated on the old forum but didn´t include in my original post here): make the phone booths usable for mission story purposes, just like in Mumbai. It would be great if we could use them to call Strandberg/Zaydan after acquiring the passwords from the safes. Put in a coin and then have a selection menu appear to choose whom to call. It would give the city section more interactive use and would allow to get rid of the whole bloody annoying “run from one end of the map to another to make the other call” procedure required for the tunnel meeting. Not to mention it would add an extra oomph to the mission´s whole political thriller vibe.
Ha, good point, totally forgot! That´s actually another thing that has bugged me about it. They certainly didn´t frisk you in H1 or 2. Have they added a frisk in H3?? I haven´t played the legacy missions yet. If they have, then I´m willing to give the detector a pass.
Accident kills and poison kills on a target do not affect your Silent Assassin rating. For whatever reason, accident KO’s and poison KO’s on a target do affect the rating, nullifying Silent Assassin. However, accident KO’s and poison KO’s on a non-target do not affect your rating. This makes using sedative poison (syringe, tranquilizer, pills, gas) and accident KO’s (push—pacify, banana, wet floor) on a target impractical. The fact that this only works on non-targets makes me think it was unintentional and might be patched out later, but if it’s intentional I would like it to be changed. There’s a run in Mendoza with the barrel room vent that I really want to do, but is unfortunately impossible with the current system.
