Hitman wishlist

There is none, this is just bug IO hasn’t been able to fix.

I wish for more starting location with your suit and the option to change suits on the ones that currently don’t allow it (like the paris auction, berlin, mendoza).
And more starting locations in mendoza where Vidal is already attending the party.

Y’know, now that this Hitman iteration has been around for half a decade, a lot of elements of the design seem weird to me.

For one, for a game that wants you to do things “SA”, there’s little incentive to play well. Once you get the SA/SASO cheevo for a mission, there’s really no reason to make an effort anymore. Plus, for most escalations, contracts, etc. the game doesn’t care. There are the leaderboards, but that’s not really appealing to me.

On the other hand, SA is inherently frustrating as it’s an all-or-nothing affair. Either your run is perfect or it’s not. 4 stars is no better than 0 stars. You might as well go on a rampage after the smallest misstep. It’s really all the same.

There’s no screwup-prevention mechanism in the game either. MGSV had the brilliant Reflex mode, which slowed down time to let you take down an enemy after being spotted. It’s probably the best idea in the stealth genre in the last decade. It’d be a shame if another game stole it… “wink, wink, nudge, nudge”

It would’ve made a lot of sense to have a money system, where the better the run, the bigger the bonus, but it’s not all-or-nothing either. A little incentive to do well during every run, that would’ve been nice. Then again, there’s an experience level system, but it’s not actually tied to anything and with multiplayer gone, you can’t even “impress” your adversaries or something. What a weird feature to have kept from H2.

Well, after yesterday’s hectic discussions and surprise reveal of new premium content, I still hope (and I’m sure) that the overall Base Game is still going to get some fun additions and unlocks. (We already have more free Escalations, Featured Contracts and Elusives confirmed so that’s cool.)

Holding out hope for more Contracts Mode features by the end of its lifecycle

I have to say with the newest content drop and it being all Escalations I am very dissapointed. Escalations are the most boring form of content in Hitman, in my opinion, and it sycks the new big paid dlc doesn’t have the traditional story line/contract missions. Even just 1 small map or mission in a rescinded version of the map. Instead it’s been nothing but Escalations shoved down my throat in the game and I really hope they change that soon. It’s my first time being unsatisfied with a purchase of anything hitman I live all 3 of the new games.

Realized recently how surge suppressors kind of resemble fiber wire. Which got me thinking…we already have these in game to be used to electrocute somebody. But it might be cool to be able to pick one up and use it as a fiber wire. To balance it, it would be seen as suspicious if you tried to pick it up off the floor and maybe it would double as a distraction because you’d be unplugging something. It’s small, but something doable for IO :man_shrugging:

It’s alright to be disappointed with a purchase and disappointment is inventible, however It’s quite important to distinctify that nothing have been shoved down your throat, your weren’t forced to buy this DLC. By doing a bit of research before hand, you could have avoided this disappointment all together. This line of thought removes your own responsibility and places it solely on IO-Interactive for have “wronged” you, this kind of thought isn’t very productive and not a great fit for discussion. This is sadly I point have to make, since we have seen a rise in these kind of arbitrary complaints, without much reasoning nor constructive criticism.

i think there was something like that in Absolution too

I believe it. For as much flak as Absolution gets, it did have a lot of cool stuff in it that did not make it to the 2016 game. Or you know, was removed later in a patch…still miss that move where 47 can make a person flip over :,)

Yes I knew it was going to be an Escalation and as I said I would buy anything hitman to support the developers. Constructive criticism of content is a valid point constructive criticism of someone else’s criticism of the game in a gaming forum is not valid or relevant unless you offered some points on the benefits of Escalations. Which there are benefits its def better than nothing but every other type of content in hitman aside from the sniper missions are more enjoyable in my opinion… In reference to having Escalations shoved down my throat I was more referring to every other update and piece of content recieved so far aside from 2 illusive targets has been Escalations and in my opinion that is where hitman is weakest. That being said I still enjoy them to am extent and Hitman 1 2 &3 are all amazing games in my opinion. I just hope we are done with Escalations after this as main content. They are meant to be small add on things to maps. I’d rather see new challenges to and achievements to existing maps and contracts then only getting Escalations.

It is when it comes down to what we here on the forum expect of our members and how we wish to see people engage in topics, especially when we have used the time since the announcement dealing with irrational, hot headed complaints that amounts to basically calming that IO are forcing the player base to buy “low effort” DLC. So from that standpoint, I’m going to point out problematic criticism that tries to make IO the villain due to not reading what they are buying before hand. I would suggest reading the forum guidelines.

Please, for the love of all that’s holy, FIX the clipping issues with clothing. It really hurts my eyes seeing some of those bugs…

I’d love to be able to pan around and examine the challenges, when on this screen:

I’d like to have a new Escalation Tracker, like with Season 1 and 2 escalations. There definitely should be one, as there is already enough escalations in Season 3 to fullfill atleast 1st and 2nd track.

It’s quite small but I hope they get rid of the issue where 47 bumps into a guard after he gets frisked. I know for a fact that wasn’t in the previous games

That would be very neat!

This is a very weird one, but since pan got new sound, I wish it was an unlockable and conceable weapon. I know it would be just another reskin of other generic melee weapons, but, my urge to run around levels smashing people with pan is unbearable.

I had a dream about Point Shooting. So while I was lying there I gave it some thought…

It worked like picking targets in Contracts Mode instead of fidgeting with the cursor to nail those head-shots placements, and this time the head-shots will be automatic. Maybe not the kills necessarily - depending on the distance or type of gun used, but maybe 85% - 90% of the time. Choosing targets can still be time based, but number of targets chosen would depend on the number of bullets in the gun’s magazine at the time. So feel free to reload before committing to it.

Now. Should it still be with Dual Wielding? No. Single gun use can work, but DW would allow you to choose that many more targets, and look hella-cool when… executed.

The target picking mechanic working like it does in Contracts Mode… This is mainly for people playing with a controller and/or those playing on a console. Perhaps the settings for this could be configured in options. If you’re a PC player that uses KB&M, or just prefer the feel and challenge (e.g. torture) of choosing targets with more required precision - then you’d have that option.

There’d also be a way to cancel choosing targets. Just pick them again to toggle. Maybe they could have another button/key if you want to shoot a particular target more than once (the waiter that walked in on you choking out the target and ruining your SA rating  )

What about wanting to place body or limb shots instead of head-shots?

Or would that even be needed? Would point shooting be needed at all? NGL, quick successive head-shots can be very satisfying. Oh well.

Another thought. Cars. Bring back punching them to attract attention (setting off the alarm).

Also, I’m thinking about trunks being used to stash bodies. Yet, they could still be shot (their gas-tank) and blown up for a kill. Now. How many bodies could you stuff into a trunk?

This could require having a way to open them. Either with a key found in the level - but make it extremely hard to make a match. Or use the lockpick (illegal action).

Maybe SUVs would have a back hatch that swings up. Or trucks (lories) could have a tarp in the back bed (as they call it) where you’d open the tailgate (no key required). Sure, trucks are rare in levels, it’d also be out in the open. Making the risk not as worth it.

If IO ever makes another hitman game, sneak in this sound effect for whenever you push someone:

Still waiting and hoping for this. One of the lore-wise most interesting ETs/missions, which also forms a sort of nice “mini campaign” with The Warlord and The Ex-Dictator. Pretty please IO, give it (them) to us in one form or another (preferably one that is permanently playable, cough cough special assignment)
